Fathers Canada is an "AlterNet News Service" based on political commentary, opinions, and information and fact based information, that is a non-profit Independent Media source, and is a progressive activist news service, that was launched in April 02 2001, by Dick Freeman and the Wild Bunch Gang.
Fathers Canada shut down as an "AlterNet News Service" in Sept, 19th, 2007 due to political differences on what direction this political service should go, as an AlterNet news Service. It was decided in September 2010/2011 to re-open these doors and the minds of it's readership again, who wrote thousands of letters over the years, to put back up this service.
Fathers Canada has claimed a readership of over 4 million visitors per month from around the world and we hope to see that happening again. Fathers Canada publishes original content as well as journalism from a wide variety of other news sources. Fathers Canada mission is to "inspire citizen action and advocacy on the environment, human rights and civil liberties, social justice, media, and health care issues and laws that harm families, that allow corrupt elected political officials in government and the global elite, those in power and those who make policy to benefit and profit off the misery of the public."
