OFFICER BUBBLES and his power trip

Political Commentarty and Opinion

What we are seeing in Canada is more of a police state run by wantabe dictaors in the police, who think they can use any kind of force, including threats of arrest for blowing bubbles.

'Officer Bubbles' - Head sues YouTube and users over cartoons

"A Toronto police officer whose stiff upper lip made him an inadvertent YouTube sensation and a symbol of police heavy-handedness at the G20 protests has launched a $1.2-million defamation lawsuit against the website. Constable Adam Josephs was nicknamed "Officer Bubbles" after a video surfaced of him online admonishing a young protester during the summit for blowing bubbles."

Officer Bubbles' lawyer : "The reason we brought the lawsuit is that people have the right to protect themselves against this kind of harassment."

Officer bubbles is an idiot, if he can't take being criticized, all because he likes acting like a thug, what does he expect, that people will tolerate any police officer's thinking they can act anyway they want, or above the law by threating peaceful people. He brought this on himself.... Hell, his behaviour in the video says it all about him. Even the the women officer had common sense to act  professional then Officer Bubbles the clown did. Get a life Officer Bubbles or better yet, get out of the police force if you can't take the heat, as you are not able to deal with people professionally, as an Police officer. .also known as a peace officer. Your not all that.....Bubbles!
What a Wanker!!!!

"Officer Bubbles"- From Bubbles to Bookings?

'Officer Bubbles' sues YouTube and users over cartoons

Courtney Winkels blows bubbles on Queen St. W., in front of Const. Adam Josephs (second from right) on June 27 during the G20 summit.

When he first saw a video of a Toronto constable threatening to arrest a G20 protester for blowing bubbles, one YouTube user was so livid, he couldn't stop writing comments. In fact, the man, who uses the alias "theforcebewithme," can't even remember writing the specific comment that now has him defending a $1.2 million defamation lawsuit launched by Toronto's now notorious "Officer Bubbles."

Const. Adam Josephs seeks to compel the Google-owned YouTube to reveal the identity of the person who created and posted the videos as well as any information it has on the 24 other users who made allegedly defamatory remarks.

I think Officer Bubbles better look at the case law in British Columbia from the Surpreme Court of BC where they state very clearly about opinions being used in defamation suits

Here and see what Judge Nathan Smith had to say

The case highlights a collision between two worlds: The wild-west of social media, where people under aliases throw insults without pause versus the laws of the old media world, where people are held accountable for everything they write. But are they really, as the Federasl government puit out a research publication as well as a terrorist watch list on fathers and as it turned out at least in BC, you can say what you like as long as it is your opinion.

A 59-year-old government employee from New Brunswick might want to use the case law from BC, who refused to give his real name said "I thought my opinion was my opinion in this country. I probably might not even post anymore," said "theforcebewithme," Josephs' lawsuit isn't targeting the video that sparked his infamy, but a collection of eight cartoons posted to the popular video website that show a police officer resembling Josephs engaging in abusive acts of power.

The animations depict an officer named "A. Josephs" arresting a variety of people - from Santa Claus to U.S. President Barack Obama - as well as punching a news photographer.

In his statement of claim, Josephs calls the cartoons and several comments "devastatingly defamatory," alleging they have brought him "ridicule, scandal and contempt both personally and as a member of the (Toronto Police Service)."

If Officer Bubbles really feels that way then, he really is in the wrong type of job acting as a so called peace officer.

Quotes from the Western Standard Blog

The problem is much worse than a single police officer with an inflated sense of self-importance who considers members of the public to be "human garbage"; there is evidence the Toronto Police are actually targeting their critics, using heinous and illegal intimidation tactics.

The following video chronicles a Toronto Police officer physically assaulting a man, who then runs for help, and is then confronted by a dozen police officers in a back alley where his iPad and phone are searched, he is subjected to verbal abuse, being called a "drug addict' and "mentally ill" while he demanded to see a lawyer -- to which they told him to "shut up".
