| Labor Dept. withdraws farm child labor rule after Daily Caller report goes viral - Friday, April 27, 2012Paul Conner The Daily Caller Friday, April 27, 2012 Under pressure from farming advocates in rural communities, and following a report by The Daily Caller, the Obama administration withdrew a proposed rule Thursday that would have applied child labor laws to family farms. Critics complained that the regulation would have drastically changed the extent to which children could work on farms owned by family members. The U.S. Department of Labor cited public outcry as the reason for withdrawing the rule. “The decision to withdraw this rule — including provisions to define the ‘parental exemption’ — was made in response to thousands of comments expressing concerns about the effect of the proposed rules on small family-owned farms,” the Department said in a press release Thursday evening. “To be clear, this regulation will not be pursued for the duration of the Obama administration.” The rule would have dramatically changed what types of chores children under the age of 16 could perform on and around American farms. It would have prohibited them from working with tobacco, operating almost all types of power-driven equipment and being employed to work with raw farm materials. “Prohibited places of employment would include country grain elevators, grain bins, silos, feed lots, stockyards, livestock exchanges and livestock auctions,” read a press release from last August. | The Family Farm Is Being Systematically Wiped Out Of Existence In America - Friday, April 27, 2012The Economic Collapse Friday, April 27, 2012 An entire way of life is rapidly dying right in front of our eyes. The family farm is being systematically wiped out of existence in America, and big agribusiness and the federal government both have blood all over their hands.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the number of farms in the United States has fallen from about 6.8 million in 1935 to only about 2 million today. That doesn’t mean that there is less farming going on. U.S. farms are producing more than ever. But what it does mean is that farming is increasingly becoming dominated by the big boys. The rules of the game have been tilted in favor of big agribusiness so dramatically that most small farmers find that they simply cannot compete anymore. Back in 1900, about 39 percent of the U.S. population worked on farms. At this point, only about 2 percent of all Americans now live on farms. Big agribusiness, the food processing conglomerates, and big seed companies such as Monsanto completely dominate the industry. Unless something dramatic is done, the family farm is going to continue to be wiped out of existence. Unfortunately, it does not look like things are going to turn around any time soon. The way that the farming industry is structured today, it is simply not economically feasible to operate a small family farm. According to Farm Aid, every week approximately 330 farmers leave their land for good. Many old timers are trying to hang on for as long as they can. A very large percentage of family farmers are in their fifties, sixties or seventies at this point. Today, only about 6 percent of all farmers are under the age of 35. Most young people these days are not too eager to choose farming as a career. A lot of young adults that grew up on family farms have decided that investing hundreds of thousands of dollars in a business that requires you to work 12 hours or more per day most of the year for very meager wages is simply not worth it. In recent years, many family farmers have been forced to find second jobs in order to support their families. Many farm families are constantly on the verge of financial ruin. It is a really tough life for many of them. Sadly, less than 25 percent of all farms in America bring in gross revenues in excess of $50,000. The following comes from the EPA website…. It has been estimated that living expenses for the average farm family exceed $47,000 per year. Clearly, many farms that meet the U.S. Census’ definition would not produce sufficient income to meet farm family living expenses. In fact, fewer than 1 in 4 of the farms in this country produce gross revenues in excess of $50,000.
On top of everything else, the federal government and many state governments just keep endlessly piling more rules and regulations on to the backs of farmers. Big agribusiness has the resources to deal with all of these regulations fairly well, but most family farms do not. With each passing year, the farming industry becomes even more centralized. If current trends continue, big agribusiness will eventually control nearly all of it. The following is from the EPA website…. By 1997, a mere 46,000 of the two million farms in this country accounted for 50% of sales of agricultural products (USDA, 1997 Census of Agriculture data). That number was down from almost 62,000 in 1992.
In certain industries the amount of consolidation has been absolutely stunning. For example, between 1970 and today the United States has lost 88 percent of its dairy farms. Another factor that is shaping the farming business is the incredible power that the giant food processing conglomerates have accumulated. Today, there are 10 corporations that control most of the things that Americans eat and drink on a daily basis. If you doubt this, just check out this chart. The giant food processing conglomerates have a massive amount of influence over how food is grown in the United States today. Small farmers that try to go against the tide often have a very rough go of it. That is also true when it comes to seeds. For example, approximately 80 percent of all corn grown in the United States is grown using seeds that have been genetically modified by Monsanto. If you want to try to defy companies such as Monsanto, you are playing a very dangerous game. The predatory business practices of Monsanto have been well documented. Monsanto has taken countless numbers of farmers to court, and they are absolutely ruthless. Plus, it certainly does not help that there is a constant revolving door between Monsanto and federal government agencies. If you doubt this, just check out the chart about Monsanto on this page. Amazingly, in spite of all this there are still some small farmers that are able to overcome all of these obstacles and run successful businesses. But that is where the federal government comes in. In recent years, the federal government has become absolutely obsessed with going after small farmers. For example, a recent Food Freedom News article detailed what the feds have been doing to Randy and Karen Sowers. They were keeping their cash deposits under $10,000 so that they would not have to fill out a bunch of paperwork, and the federal government came down on them like a hurricane…. “Structuring,” explains Overlawyered.com, “is the federal criminal offense of splitting up bank deposits so as to keep them under a threshold such as $10,000 above which banks have to report transactions to the government.” While being questioned, the Sowers were finally presented with a seizure order and advised that the feds had already emptied their bank account of $70,000. The Dept. of Justice has since sued to keep $63,000 of the Sowers’ money, though they committed no crime other than maintaining their privacy. Without funds, they will be unable to make purchases for the spring planting. When a similar action was taken against Taylor’s Produce Stand last year, the feds seized $90,000, dropped the charges, and kept $45,000 of Taylor’s money. Knowing that most farms operate on a very thin margin, such abuse of power wipes out a family’s income, and for a bonus, the feds enhance the monopoly power of Monsanto, Big Dairy and their supply chain.
At many other small farms across America, the feds have conducted military-style raids at the crack of dawn over the smallest infractions. Some examples of this were detailed in a documentary entitled “Farmaggedon“. The following is a short trailer for that film…. The sad truth is that the federal government has been using your tax money to go after small farmers in absolutely vicious ways. For example, the feds raided one Amish farm at 5 AM one morning. So what was the big crime that the feds were so concerned about? Well, the Amish farm was selling raw milk. Oh the horror! The feds seem content to leave big agribusiness pretty much alone, but they are constantly going after small farms in hundreds of different ways. Did you know that the Department of Labor is instituting new regulations that will ban children from doing many kinds of farm chores? Just another way to kill off the family farm in America. America is changing, and not for the better. Just like the middle class, the family farm is heading for extinction. Eventually, the big corporations and the federal government will have near total control over food production in America. | Obama Ban on Youth Farm Chores Part of Larger Power Grab - Wednesday, April 25, 2012Kurt Nimmo
Infowars.com
April 25, 2012 Dredging up Dickensian horrors of child labor, the Obama administration has ordered the Labor Department to apply child labor laws to family farms. The new rules would make it illegal for children to perform a large number of labor tasks that have been performed by farm families for centuries. Traditionally, adults and children alike helped with planting and harvesting in the spring and fall, but the federal government is now determined not only to make this a historical footnote, but a criminal offense. Children have worked with their families on farms for centuries. It is the reason there is now a “summer vacation” for school kids. Under the rules, children under 18 would be prevented by the federal government from working “in the storing, marketing and transporting of farm product raw materials” and prohibited “places of employment would include country grain elevators, grain bins, silos, feed lots, stockyards, livestock exchanges and livestock auctions.” In addition to making it far more difficult for families to work their farms, the new rules will revoke the government’s approval of safety training and certification taught by independent groups like 4-H and FFA and replace them with a 90-hour federal government training course, the Daily Caller reports. In other words, the federal government will forcibly insert itself in the business of teaching animal husbandry and crop management, disciplines traditionally passed on by families and local communities. Government apparatchiks will now oversee the business of local farming the same way Stalin did when he collectivized farms and “socialized” production at gunpoint in the Soviet Union. Resistance by farmers and peasants to Stalin’s efforts resulted in the government cutting off food rations, which resulted in widespread famine (the “terror-famine in Ukraine” killed around 12 million people) and millions were sent to forced labor camps. The Labor Department’s effort to further erode the family farm falls on the heels of an unconstitutional executive order Obama issued last year establishing so-called rural councils. “According to this new executive order, the Obama administration plans to stick its itchy little fingers into just about every aspect of rural life,” the Economic Collapse Blog noted at the time. “One of the stated goals of the White House Rural Council is to do the following….” Coordinate and increase the effectiveness of Federal engagement with rural stakeholders, including agricultural organizations, small businesses, education and training institutions, health-care providers, telecommunications services providers, research and land grant institutions, law enforcement, State, local, and tribal governments, and nongovernmental organizations regarding the needs of rural America.
Obama’s plan to make life miserable for family farmers coincides with an effort by the United Nations under Agenda 21. Section one of the executive order mentions “sustainable rural communities,” language right out of Agenda 21. (For more on the draconian aspects of Agenda 21 and the plan to roll back modern civilization under the aegis of “sustainability,” see Rosa Koire’s Behind the Green Mask: U.N. Agenda 21.) The federal government has recently moved to clamp down on family farms. For instance, last year the Department of Transportation proposed new burdensome rules for farmers. Incidentally, DOT Secretary Ray LaHood holds a seat on the newly created White House Rural Council. “In Late May, the DOT proposed a rule change for farm equipment, and if it this allowed to take effect, it will place significant regulatory pressure on small farms and family farms all across America – costing them thousands of dollars and possibly forcing many of them out of business,” writes Mike Opelka. “The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), part of the Department of Transportation (DOT), wants new standards that would require all farmers and everyone on the farm to obtain a CDL (Commercial Drivers License) in order to operate any farming equipment. The agency is going to accomplish this by reclassifying all farm vehicles and implements as Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs).” Late last year, House Republicans moved to prevent the EPA from further burdening farmers with a rule that would ban “farm dust.” Outrage in response to the proposed regulation came fast and furious and EPA boss Lisa Jackson was forced to back down as Democrats complained that the government was not targeting small family farms with the proposed regulation. A concerted effort by the federal government to attack small family farms cannot be denied. Infowars.com has covered dozens of efforts, including the attack on Rawesome Foods in California, numerous efforts by the feds to attack raw milk and dairy farmers (including attacks by the FDA on Amish farmers), and a recent effort by the Department of Natural Resources in Michigan to destroy open-range pig farms. In addition to attempting to micromanage – and run out of business – family farms through federal labor regulations, the government is trying to insert itself in the relationship between parents and their children. The ongoing attacks on family farming are not merely misguided efforts by control freak bureaucrats. They are part of a larger “comprehensive plan of action” to be taken globally, nationally and locally by organizations of the United Nations to institute “sustainable development,” a philosophy designed to bring humanity under tight control of the global elite. As George H. W. Bush said on September 11, 1990, the plan is “based entirely on social control mechanisms.” For the elite, controlling food – especially healthy and natural food produced by family farms – is a primary objective in their plan for global conquest.

| Take Action Against Dow Chemical and Monsanto ‘Agent Orange’ GMO Crops - Tuesday, April 24, 2012Cassandra Anderson
Prisonplanet.com
April 24, 2012 You can help to hold the USDA and Dow Chemical accountable simply by posting your comments on the official public record of Dow Chemical’s petition with the USDA to approve their 2,4-D herbicide resistant GMO crops (remember that 2,4-D herbicide is half of the recipe for Agent Orange). The USDA is required to respond to all UNIQUE comments publicly. Therefore, it is essential that you write your own message in addition to using any of the issues listed below. It’s also important to note that comments close April 27th, so make sure to get them in today. It’s simple to do, and you can view the list of issues and links below. Simply go to the USDA website to leave your comments and take action! Here is a list of issues concerning the new dangerous 2,4-D herbicide resistant crops and source links that we encourage you to use, along with your own message, in your comments to the USDA: Effects on human health: - I am demanding a full Environmental Impact Statement on these crops because they can affect human health.
- What are the cumulative effects for these crops and the increase in 2,4-D herbicide usage?
- EPA documents show that 2,4-D herbicide is the seventh largest source of dioxin in the US.
Pollution of the environment: - EPA documents reveal that 2,4-D agricultural runoff has polluted groundwater across the US. Dioxin has a half-life of more than 100 years when leached into soil and embedded in water systems. Additionally, when contaminated fish are used as a food source, humans absorb dioxin.
Ramped up 2,4-D herbicide in crops: - The commercialization of GMO 2,4-D herbicide resistant crops will dramatically increase the usage of 2,4-D herbicide that is linked to dioxin to be used on food crops.
Dioxin in diet and food sources:
The FDA admits that 95% of human dioxin absorption is from diet, especially animal fats. Corn and other crops are used for animal feed and dioxin levels are likely to rise in animals if they are fed 2,4-D herbicide resistant GMO crops, due to increased herbicide use. Connection to cancer and birth defects: - The EPA says that dioxin increases risk of cancer and current dioxin levels are already “uncomfortably” close to dangerous levels that can cause other health damage.
- EPA admits that dioxin in 2,4-D causes blood, liver and kidney toxicity in addition to birth defects in lab-tested animals.
- The Veteran’s Administration recognizes these diseases that have resulted from Agent Orange exposure (2,4-D is half of the recipe of Agent Orange): Amyloidosis, chronic B-cell leukemias, chloracne, diabetes mellitus type 2, Hodgkin’s Disease, ischemic heart disease, multiple myeloma, Non-Hodgkins lymphoma, Parkinson’s Disease, peripheral neuropathy, liver dysfunction, prostate cancer, respiratory cancers (including lung), soft tissue sarcomas and birth defects in subsequent generations.
- The USDA has failed to require tests of how 2,4-D herbicide and Monsanto’s glyphosate herbicide interact synergistically in the environment and in humans, which may present a real danger.
Take action on the USDA comments website: http://www.regulations.gov/#!submitComment;D=APHIS-2010-0103-0001 Please note that your comments should contain an original message by you (instead of a form letter) so that it is counted as a unique message requiring a response from the USDA. It’s also important to be aware that only your name, city and country are required information, the rest of your personal information like your home address and e-mail are voluntary. Personal stories of individuals affected by agent orange: Vietnam Veteran suffers from cancer and heart disease. His daughter is afflicted with birth defects. He explains how Vietnam Veterans were exposed to Agent Orange.
Vietnam Veteran suffers from ischemic heart disease and is receiving aid from the Veterans Administration that now recognizes this disease is linked to dioxin exposure from Agent Orange.
Vietnamese family struggles with 2 children that have severe birth defects from Agent Orange. Currently, many children are still being born with serious Agent Orange birth defects in Vietnam.
Daughter of Vietnam Veteran who died from a heart attack at age 56 describes her injuries resulting from Agent Orange in the second generation.
Please do your part to stop the USDA from approving these dangerous crops! Here’s the USDA link again: |
| Flashback: Escaped, Mutatated GM Maize on the Loose Maybe Carrying AIDS Virus - Tuesday, April 24, 2012USDA Refused to Admit Which Pharmaceutical GM Crop Escaped Test Fields and Has Been On the Loose Since 2002! Aaron Dykes
Infowars.com
April 24, 2012 Yesterday on the Alex Jones Show, Alex addressed genetically-modified, Big PHARMA crops carrying the AIDS virus in corn circa 2002. Clearly, biotech, the military, other entities have been dangerously experimenting on the public without consent for some time. But is something so out of control and unregulated as growing the AIDS virus really going on? Yes, shockingly, it’s true!
Back in November 2002, it was exposed that a company called Prodigene had contaminated fields in Iowa, after a GMO crop carrying a potentially dangerous & deadly viral strain escaped and possibly transmutated. Soya fields were planted in the same locations and tainted from remains of the experimental variety. The USDA, who granted the biotech firm 85 test permits for 96 sites throughout the U.S. Midwest, refused to identify the “escaped” crop. Instead, the USDA quietly oversaw the destruction of the contaminated fields, unwilling to damage the biotech industry with scandal, despite a previous episode of pharma-contamination from the same firm in Nebraska. The government ordered ProdiGene to burn 155 acres of the contaminated crop in Iowa in September after inspectors found stray biotech corn plants growing in the field. A similar incident occurred in Nebraska in October.
And what were they pharming? A protein found on the surface of HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, for one, which was to be harvested for an AIDS vaccination. Other pharming tests conducted by Prodigene include, reportedly, an experimental oral Hepatitis B vaccine, another for a virus transmitted by pigs, another a blood-clotting agent, another an insulin enzyme, others for things like industrial adhesives. Edible GMO vaccines, tailored to the world’s (overpopulation) ailments. Scary stuff! That’s wild, mutating AIDS virus strains and/or experimental-vaccine formulas, etc. potentially on the loose! Dangerous doesn’t begin to explain this. All or some of these experimental GM may be blowing in the wind, passing along traits as it cross-pollinates the very Iowa corn fields growing our foods, and on to other fields from there. Reuters reported that at least 300 acres of pharmaceutical crops had been planted (in 2002) and companies like Dow Chemical and Monsanto were lined up to do tests. Some called to ban the experiments and jail those responsible at Prodigene, a company based in the university community of College Station, Texas. As of 2003, the company was slapped on the wrist with a $250,000 fine after what Nature called a “puzzling” USDA/FDA judgement. Further, whereas developers were set to accept a partially-voluntary ban on experimental pharming in the Midwest, Congress insisted that the biotech industry have carte blanche to go on willing:
BIO emphasized that… member companies would be better off by voluntarily refraining from growing test plots of, for instance, engineered corn plants in the corn belt. However, relentless political heat, particularly from Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA), led BIO to retreat from this position by early December.
The record is clear that both the companies and government regulators were aware of the potential for things to go wrong with these crops, but had an executive branch-issued priority to fast-track GMO approval in all realms despite dangers posed to the public. These entities are, without any doubt, NOT representing what’s best for the public’s safety. To the contrary, as The World According to Monsanto makes clear in the case of the anonymous-but-intentional contamination of Mexican heirloom maize fields that refused to adopt GM varieties, that those running the show intend to destroy traditional agriculture. That only tips towards the piracy-for-patent dominance they’ve designed to develop an oligopoly on food, medicines and etc. and prevent your access to the naturally-growing (unpatentable) varieties. This is the vision for our future now being pushed by the technocrats, who coalesce at places like Bilderberg, and who circle their money around funds like the Gates & Rockefeller foundations. Mysterious Pharmaceutical GM Crop Goes Wrong in the US
Friends of the Earth International News Release 11-21-2002 BRUSSELS — US Authoritites unwilling as of today to report which Genetically Modified Pharmaceutical maize was found in the food chain The United States food chain has been contaminated by Genetically Modified (GM) maize plants used to produce a pharmaceutical or industrial chemical but US authorities are unwilling as of today to disclose what the mysterious GM Pharmaceutical maize is that was found for the first time among food crops in two US States (Iowa and Nebraska). Friends of the Earth is seeking urgent reassurance from the European Commission that food in Europe has not been contaminated. The company that produced the maize, Prodigene, carries out a range of outdoor tests on crops containing pharmaceuticals and industrial products in at least 96 locations in the US. The ProdiGene incidents reportedly frustrated the US food industry, which stated on Thursday Nov. 14 that biotech companies need to change which crops they have chosen to make drugs and industrial products. This was an accident waiting to happen. If you grow GM crops outdoors then they will eventually contaminate the rest of the food chain. We are seeking urgent reassurances that food imported into Europe has not been contaminated, said Adrian Bebb, GM Campaigner at Friends of the Earth. The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced on Tuesday Nov. 12 that it quarantined over $2.7 million worth of soya beans (500,000 tonnes) destined for human consumption at a Nebraska grain elevator after finding parts of ProdiGene’s GM maize mixed with the soya beans. They later ordered their destruction. USDA authorities, who refuse to reveal the chemical or drug genetically engineered in the GM maize, also claim that a similar incident happened last year involving the same company. The soya crop was planted and harvested on the same site where a GM pharmaceutical maize was grown on the previous year. Seeds dropped by the maize grew this year and contaminated the soya crop. Friends of the Earth, as part of a wider US coalition, warned the US Government earlier this year that this could happen. The coalition is now filing a legal petition demanding an immediate halt to the outdoor growing of pharmaceutical GM crops. Research into the company involved, Prodigene, reveals that the contamination could be one of the following : * AIDS vaccine gp120 — a glycoprotein* Blood-clotting agent — Aprotinin * Trypsin – Digestive enzyme that can be used in leather tanning or to produce insulin. * Industrial adhesive Laccase — an enzyme derived from a fungus Other pharmaceutical GM crops reportedly grown by ProdiGene include experimental oral vaccines for hepatitis B and for a pig disease, transmissible gastroenteritis. According to USDA records ProdiGene has received 85 test permits for experimental open-air trials of pharmaceutical GM crops and chemical crops for planting in at least 96 locations. Once you start genetically engineering drugs and chemicals into crop plants then you really are opening Pandoraâs box. The consequences could be catastrophic, said Adrian Bebb of GM Campaigner at Friends of the Earth.
And this related effort to hold those responsible to account, and warn the public that:

Coalition to File Legal Petition Demanding Immediate Halt of Experimental Biopharmaceuticals Grown on Farms Government Concealing Information, Coalition Files
Freedom of Information Act to Access Government Documents FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACTS:
November 14, 2002 MattRand, 202-887-8841
Mark Helm, 202-783-7400 x102 Washington-Today, the U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) revealed a second incident of contamination of a food crop by an experimental genetically engineered crop, engineered to contain a pharmaceutical or industrial chemical, in Iowa. This follows yesterday’s announcement that 500,000 bushels of soybeans in Nebraska destined for human consumption have also been quarantined due to biocontamination by a similar crop. The USDA has refused to reveal what chemical or drug was grown in either crop, but research into the company that produces the biopharmaceutical crops, ProdiGene, reveals that the contaminates could be one of the following: * Aids vaccine -gp120 a glycoprotein* Blood-clotting agent-Aprotinin * Digestive enzyme-Trypsin * Industrial adhesive-Laccase, an enzyme derived from a fungus Other biopharm crops reportedly grown by ProdiGene include experimental oral vaccines for hepatitis B and for a pig disease, transmissible gastroenteritis. According to USDA records ProdiGene has received 85 test permits for experimental open-air trials of genetically engineered biopharmaceutical and chemical crops for planting in at least 96 locations. More information on ProdiGene products can be found on the attached document. “With this latest contamination the government should halt all experimental genetically engineered crops grown on farms,” Stated Matt Rand, Biotechnology Campaign Manager for the National Environmental Trust. “If the governmentm continues to develop policies for the biotech industry instead of for the safety of the U.S. food supply it is just a matter of time before one of these experimental crops ends up on our dinner plates,” continued Rand. Today, with the second contamination of an experimental genetically engineered biopharmaceutical crop, the GEFoodAlert coalition announced its intention to file a legal petition to the USDA calling for the immediate halt to all biopharms. Additionally with the US government not revealing pertinent information on the contamination incidents, the Center for Food Safety, a member of the coalition, filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) petition to access all government documents on ProdiGene. A similar FOIA was submitted by Friends of the Earth in April 2001and the USDA declined to provide permit information. Last week members of GEFoodAlert coalition met with the USDA regarding the open farm testing of biopharmaceuticals and asked the USDA if contamination testing was taking place. The USDA flatly denied that any contamination testing was being performed. “The government clearly knew about this contamination weeks ago and chose not to reveal the information to the public, but instead worked behind closed doors with the industry to try to cover this up,” said Joseph Mendelson, Legal Director at the Center for Food Safety. ### For a comprehensive report on biopharm, see www.gefoodalert.org. The GEFoodAlert is a coalition of health, consumer and environmental groups that supports the removal of genetically engineered ingredients from grocery store shelves unless they are adequately safety tested and labeled.

PRODIGENE FIELD TRIALS OF DRUG- AND CHEMICAL-PRODUCING CORN Information compiled from USDA’s website for field trials of genetically engineered crops (www.nbiap.vt.edu/cfdocs/fieldtests1.cfm )(1) An Excel file with a complete list of ProdiGene field trials nationwide is available upon request Possible Substances:(2) Nebraska soybeans were contaminated with engineered corn grown by ProdiGene in 2001. All of the substances involved in these trials were kept secret as confidential business information (CBI), except one that listed the substances involved as aprotinin and gp120. ProdiGene has also reported that it is growing trypsin-corn on hundreds of acres in the Midwest, including Nebraska, though for some reason this trial is not listed on the USDA’s website. The ProdiGene permit for planting in Iowa in 2001 was simply listed as a pharmaceutical without further specification. Aprotinin is a blood-clotting agent used to reduce blood loss in surgery. A version of aprotinin derived from cow lung tissue is sold by Bayer under the name of Trasylol. ProdiGene’s first reported field trial of corn genetically engineered to produce aprotinin was in Nebraska in 1998. ProdiGene sees several prospective uses for its corn-grown aprotinin: as a reagent in biological research, as a blood-clotting drug, and as a built-in insecticide similar to the Bt toxins in commercialized varieties of engineered corn. Aprotinin belongs to a class of substances known as trypsin inhibitors that are known to cause pancreatic disease when fed to animals. Aprotinin has insecticidal properties as well, and has been shown to shorten the lives of honeybees that ingest it at low levels. Expert scientific advisors to the EPA have recommended that transgenic plants producing trypsin inhibitors such as aprotinin be subjected to animal feeding experiments before approval: “Like any transgenic plant with pesticide properties, those containing trypsin inhibitor should be tested for their biological effects at dietary concentrations which, at minimum, are likely to be encountered in the transgenic plant itself. Such studies should also be accompanied by tests designed to evaluate how much heat treatment may be necessary to reduce the trypsin inhibitor activity to non-toxic levels.” (3) It is not known if the government has required any animal testing on ProdiGene’s aprotinin-producing corn. gp120 is a glycoprotein (protein with sugar groups attached) found on the surface of two strains of HIV and the closely related simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV). It is being grown in corn for possible development as an AIDS vaccine, though many researchers believe it will never be effective, and might even suppress an effective immune response in vaccinated individuals. Injection of gp120 into the brain of rats has been shown to kill brain cells, while injection into the human blood stream results in the death of white blood cells. It is not known if the USDA or FDA has conducted any environmental or health assessment of gp120-producing corn. It would seem advisable to test for possible adverse effects upon inhalation of or contact with gp120-corn dust and pollen. Trypsin is a digestive enzyme used in biological research and pharmaceutical processing. It is traditionally obtained from cow or pig pancreas. ProdiGene announced plans to grow hundreds of acres of its trypsin-producing corn in the Midwest this year, including Nebraska, with hopes of marketing hundreds of pounds of corn-derived trypsin by year’s end. Trypsin is a known inhalant allergen, causing occupational asthma in pharmaceutical and industrial workers exposed to it. Similar concerns might apply to farmers and farmworkers exposed to trypsin-corn dust and pollen, especially since trypsin is produced at very high concentrations in corn kernels. Trypsin corn is reportedly being grown under the USDA’s weak “notification” system, which does not require a permit. A USDA spokesperson indicated that neither the USDA nor the FDA had conducted any health or environmental assessment of trypsin corn. Another possible substance is laccase, an enzyme derived from a fungus. It is intended for use in the adhesives industry. ProdiGene foresees a market for corn-grown laccase that would require the planting of anywhere from 200,000 to 2 million acres of corn. A related version of laccase from the Japanese lacquer tree “may be harmful by inhalation, ingestion or skin absorption. Prolonged or repeated exposure may cause allergic reactions in certain sensitive individuals. The toxicological properties have not been thoroughly investigated.”(4) Other biopharm crops reportedly grown by ProdiGene include experimental oral vaccines for hepatitis B and a pig disease, transmissible gastroenteritis. There is no indication that the USDA or the FDA has conducted any health or environmental assessment of these substances. Endnotes: 1. | Woman Receives Anonymous Threats after Opposing Monsanto - Monday, April 23, 2012Mike Barrett
Infowars.com
Monday, April 23, 2012 After losing a 3-day old daughter to kidney failure, a woman named Sofia Gatica from Argentina made a decision to spearhead an anti-Monsanto movement with other mothers of sick children. Monsanto is a biotechnology, agrochemical company which has been polluting the environment and human health with herbicides, pesticides, genetically modified foods, and other substances for decades. Numerous cases have been brought against Monsanto for biological damage and even death — such is the recent case in which farmers say the biotech giant’s creations spawned ‘devastating birth defects‘.
Near where Gatica lives, there are soybean fields covering the land where farmers spray loads of chemicals on the crops. The primary weed killer used on the fields is the one and only Roundup, the most popular herbicide used by farmers which contains the active ingredient glyphosate. Gatica didn’t initially connect the chemical exposure to her baby’s death until she noticed that many of her friends and neighbors were also experiencing health problems.
“I started seeing children with mouth covers, mothers with scarves wrapped around their heads to cover their baldness, due to chemotherapy…There are soybeans to the north, to the south, and to the east, and when they spray, they spray over the people because there’s no distance,” Gatica said to a Grist reporter.
In fact, researchers found that people in her area had three to four agricultural chemicals in their blood, including one chemical, endosulfan, which is banned in over 80 countries. The researchers also found that 33 percent of the residents were struck with cancer. In other previous German findings, Monsanto’s Roundup was present in all urine samples tested at an amount of 5 to 20-fold the established limit for drinking water, showing how prevalent these chemicals really are. In retaliation to Monsanto and their highly used chemical creations, Gatica worked to create an international movement against Monsanto with other activists. A few years ago, after co-founding a group called Mothers of Ituzaingó, she and her group initiated the first epidemiological study of the area which found high rates of neurological and respiratory disease, birth defects, infant mortality, and cancer rates more than 40 times the national average. She then continued to find researchers to study the links between pesticides, herbicides, and health problems, while engaging in protests voicing concerns over the issues. “We blockaded the spraying machines. We would get into the fields to block them. We carried out protests at the Ministry of Agriculture and the Health Ministry. We took sick people to the ministry,” she said.
Over the course of a few years, mandatory buffer zones between aerial spraying and neighborhoods has been put in place thanks to the activist movement. In addition, Argentina’s Supreme Court decided that agrochemicals could not be sprayed near living areas. However, while Gatica and other activists successfully created change, the process wasn’t necessarily easy. In fact, there were even direct threats. “Somebody came inside my house with a weapon. I was told not to ‘screw around with the soybeans.’ I would get phone calls where I’d be told that I would only have two children the next day,” she said. “I had the police investigate this, but I was told that the file was secret,” she added after being questioned as to whether she ever found out who made the personal attacks.
Interestingly enough, previous research found that Monsanto’s best-selling herbicide Roundup exhibits direct toxicity to human cells, effectively killing them off even at low doses. The toxicity and negative impact on young children is even greater, and is most detrimental to infants or unborn babies. Although Gatica started alone and was even directly threatened, she rose above these complications and effectively ignited change – she will not be the last. - Explosive: Monsanto ‘Knowingly Poisoned Workers’ Causing Devastating Birth Defects

| Scientists call for global ban on bee-killing pesticides - Monday, April 23, 2012Jonathan Benson Natural News Monday, April 23, 2012 With a myriad of concrete evidence now in plain view, there is simply no denying that pesticides are a direct cause of massive bee declines all around the world. And despite continued denial by corporate-whore governments in the U.S., the U.K., and elsewhere that have sided with the chemical manufacturers on the matter, scientists and agricultural experts from all corners of the globe are joining together as one to call for a worldwide ban on neonicotinoids, a class of pesticides that has been definitively linked to causing Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD). Three recent field studies, two of which were published in the journalScience, confirm that even sub-lethal exposure to neonicotinoid pesticides among bees causes them to lose their way when out foraging. Many conventional food crops are pretreated or sprayed with neonicotinoid pesticides, which leads to the contamination of pollen and nectar that bees collect. “The data, both ours and others, right now merits a global ban,” said Chensheng Li, author of theHarvard Universitystudy that confirmed neonicotinoid pesticides as a primary cause of CCD. “Our study clearly demonstrated that imidacloprid is responsible for causing CCD, and the survival of the control hives that we set up side-by-side to the pesticide-treated hives augments this conclusion.” Li says removing neonicotinoids from global use for at least five years would leave plenty of time for researchers to study and observe how bee populations respond. If bee populations increase during this time, which is the expected outcome, then it would be abundantly clear that the scientific community is correct in its assessments of the situation. In the U.K., the widespread negative effects of neonicotinoid use are already being felt, as many crops now have to be hand-pollinated as a result of bee losses. According to data compiled by scientists atReading University, the population of honey bees kept in managed hives in the U.K. has dropped by half, as have solitary bees. And wild honey bees are virtually extinct, according to the figures. “Unless we halt the decline in British bees our farmers will have to rely on hand-pollination, sending food prices rocketing,” said Paul de Zylva, nature campaigner atFriends of the Earth(FoE), a group advocating for the removal of neonicotinoids from agricultural use (http://www.foe.co.uk/what_we_do/the_bee_cause_35033.html). The U.S.-based advocacy groupBeyond Pesticidesand dozens of commercial beekeepers and honey producers have also filed a legal petition demanding that the U.S.Environmental Protection Agency(EPA) take action to ban clothianidin, another neonicotinoid linked to killing bees (http://www.beyondpesticides.org/dailynewsblog/?p=6919). | Monsanto Playing God - Monday, April 23, 2012Monsanto: The Real CyberdyneDaisy Luther Inalienably Yours April 23, 2012 If ever there was a company that embodied evil, it would be the Monsanto Company. The combination of unfettered corporate greed, a eugenics agenda and corrupt political manipulation forms an unholy trinity that could make Monsanto the real Cyberdyne Systems. In the Terminator movies, Cyberdyne Systems created the artificial intelligence computer systemSkynet, which destroyed most life on earth and forced survivors to live underground. Proving once again that fact is indeed as strange as fiction, the Monsanto Company could singlehandedly cause TEOTWAWKI (The End Of The World As We Know It). The History of Monsanto Monsanto was started in St. Louis, Missouri in 1901 by John Francis Queeny, whose background was in the pharmaceutical industry. Beginning as it would continue, the first product made by Monsanto was saccharin, a controversial artificial sweetener now banned in many countries for its links to cancer. Over the last century, Monsanto was responsible for bringing many controversial substances to the market. · Saccharin
· Agent Orange
· DDT
· Aspartame
· Bovine Growth Hormone Initially a chemical company, it wasn’t until 1982 that Monsanto branched into agriculture, immediately tying the chemical background to the formerly wholesome business of growing food. Monsanto was determined to improve on nature and by the late 1980s had begun trials with genetically modified crops. Monsanto and the Court System Monsanto is no stranger to either side of the courtroom. In effort to eradicate the family farm, Monsanto has taken many farmers to court for patent infringement. Farms unfortunate enough to be downwind of Monsanto have been sued because of cross-pollination with Monsanto plants from neighbouring farms. Because these farmers did not purchase seeds from Monsanto, they were “stealing” the benefits of this genetic engineering, and thus, successfully sued until they lost their businesses to the greedy company. Farmers have incurred millions of dollars in judgements, sometimes even being required to pay for Monsanto’s investigation of their crops and Monsanto’s legal expenses. According to the Center for Food Safety, the odds are stacked against the farmers. “Monsanto has an annual budget of $10 million dollars and a staff of 75 devoted solely to investigating and prosecuting farmers.” Monsanto has been in the defendant’s seat as well. The chemical giant recently settled for an undisclosed amount with the residents of Nitro, West Virginia in a class action lawsuit over the production of the carcinogenic chemical 2,4,5-T, an ingredient in herbicides and pesticides, as well as the banned “Agent Orange.” A group of more than 300,000 organic farmers recently took a page from Monsanto’s book and sued the company because they found through testing that their crops had been “tainted” by genetically modified plants growing nearby. The case, unfortunately, was dismissed. Monsanto’s Incestuous Relationship with the Federal Government Part of the reason Monsanto has been so successful in the courtroom has been the company’s incestuous ties to the US de facto government. Despite the blatant conflicts of interest, Monsanto executives have held Cabinet, judicial and policy-making positions in the Bush, Clinton and Obama administrations. When you’re sleeping with the enemy, the enemy tends to get away with all manner of crimes. Michael Taylor: VP of Monsanto à Deputy Commissioner of the FDA Roger Beachy: Director of the Danforth Plant Science Center (paid for by Monsanto) à director of the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture Elena Kagan: Obama Solicitor General (when she famously took Monsanto’s side against organic farmers in the Roundup Ready Alfalfa case) àUS Supreme Court justice. Clarence Thomas: General Counsel for Monsanto àUS Supreme Court justice. Margaret Miller: Monsanto supervisor à Deputy Director of Human Food Safety Donald Rumsfield: Board of Directors for Monsanto’s Searle Pharmaceuticals à US Secretary of Defense Ann Veneman: Monsanto Board of Directors à US Secretary of Agriculture Linda Fisher: Assistant Administrator at the EPA àVP of MonsantoàDeputy Administrator of the EPA Dr. Michael A.Friedman: Deputy Commisioner of the FDA àSenior VP of Monsanto Monsanto’s Corporate Bedfellows Monsanto’s collusion goes further than mere ties with government. The power-mad and wealthy seem to be magnetically drawn to the company. Recently, public depopulation proponent Bill Gates bought half a million shares in Monsanto and began “gifting” Monsanto seeds to farmers in Third World countries. These farmers will be permanently tied to Monsanto, as the self-terminating seeds will have to be repurchased every year. Monsanto’s Board of Directors has ties to corporate giants such as McDonalds, Cisco Systems, Sara Lee, Lockheed Martin and Proctor and Gamble, to name a few. Monsanto has sponsored exhibits at Disneyworld and Disneyland. Monsanto has tentacles in the following companies through mergers and spin-offs: GD Searle, the Nutrasweet Company, Pharmacia, Upjohn, Eli Lilly & Co., Seminis, Delta and Pine Land Company, and De Ruiter Seeds. Starving Amidst Abundance Perhaps the most disturbing issue with Monsanto and their products is the fact that the genetically engineered food is simply untested – we don’t know the full repercussions from eating this stuff. Animal studies in Europe have proven that animals fed a GMO diet are more likely to suffer from organ failure. The study concluded, “It is unacceptable to submit 500 million Europeans and several billions of consumers worldwide to the new pesticide GM-derived foods or feed, this being done without more controls (if any) than the only 3-month-long toxicological tests.” Other studies have shown disturbing results like stomach lesions, increased risk of anaphylactic shock, increased antibiotic resistance, and toxins in the bloodstreams of newborns. We aren’t allowed to be warned about GMOs either. Although Obama promised labeling of GMO foods appearing at your local grocery store, it’s yet another campaign promise that has never been fulfilled. The state of Vermont is currently being sued by Monsanto for labeling GMO foods. The FDA has also refused to force GMO producers to label their food. At this point, the only way you can be sure you are getting your food as nature intended it is to pay high prices for organic foods. Monsanto has changed the face of world agriculture to the point that each trip to the grocery store results in a lottery of genetic mutations. Will the tomato that you eat today cause bleeding ulcers tomorrow? Will the gmo corn that insinuates itself into 90% of processed foods cause your child to have a resistance to antibiotics that might otherwise save her life? Are you missing important nutrients by consuming these foods, causing you to overeat to attempt to satiate your need for vitamins and minerals? Monsanto has been publicly accused of mishandling toxic chemicals. Many of the items the company has brought to market have since been banned, which suggests proper testing was not done in the first place. With all of Monsanto’s criminal accessories in the US de facto government, as well as Big Pharma and other corporate entities, is it any stretch to question the company’s mutation of our food supply? Amidst all of this genetically modified abundance, wouldn’t it be ironic to perish from malnutrition? Monsanto Plays Monopoly With the world’s farms as its gameboard, Monsanto is aggressively taking over agriculture. As mentioned above, one of the primary ways Monsanto removes the competition is through lawsuits that regular farmers can not afford. Another tactic used by Monsanto is that of genetically engineering seeds to be self-terminating. Quite simply, Monsanto seeds can be used to grow one plant. The time-honored practice of carefully harvesting seeds from plants so that they can be reused will not work with Monsanto seeds because they have been sterilized. The donations of Monsanto seeds to Third World countries is, then, somewhat akin to the drug dealer who gives his clients a “free sample” for their first hit. The client has no choice but to come back. The creation of the self-terminating seed causes a revolving need for more seeds every year. If plants grown in subsequent years are found to have some residual DNA from previous Monsanto plantings, the farmer knows he will be sued and lose everything. The farmer is unable to propagate from previous crops. Monsanto has created a customer who has no option but to purchase from them year after year. As a method to take over the world, what better way than to control the source from which all food comes? If the ONLY seeds are one day these modified sterile creations, what happens when those seeds disappear? What happens if Monsanto stops producing the seeds? What if seeds become regulated and only distributed in certain amounts to certain growers? Starvation on a scale more massive than the world has ever seen occurs. Control is complete and absolute. This is the ultimate power.“Who controls the food supply controls the people.” ~ Henry Kissinger Sources Exposing Monsanto’s Minions Monsanto and Its Legacy with the FDA Monsanto’s Super Weeds and Mutant Bugs |
| Monsanto threatens Vermont legislature over GMO labeling bill, says it will sue state - Friday, April 20, 2012Jonathan Benson Natural News Friday, April 20, 2012 Things are heating up on the genetic engineering front in the state of Vermont, where an overwhelming 96 percent of Vermonters vehemently support “right to know” legislation that mandates full disclosure of genetically-modified organisms (GMOs) on food labels. But according to Ronnie Cummins from the Organic Consumers Association (OCA), Monsanto is now threatening to sue the state of Vermont should it dare to pass such legislation, which has stalled it in committee. H.722, also known as the Vermont Right to Know Genetically Engineered Food Act, would require any food product that contains GMOs to be labeled as such. It would also prohibit GMO-containing foods from being labeled “all natural” or “naturally grown,” which is quite common today, including even on some food products sold at health food grocers. If passed, H.722 will make Vermont the first U.S. state to take a stand for transparency in food labeling, which will set a precedent for the other 49 states to mimic. And since numerous polls have showed that the vast majority of Americans from all states are in favor of GMO labeling, it will only be a matter of time before every state legislature is forced to come to terms with the GMO issue, or at least address it. “H.722 is a simple but powerful bill — it will give all Vermonters the right to know if their food has been genetically engineered,” said Andrea Stander, Executive Director of Rural Vermont, about the bill. “Whether their need to know is based on health concerns such as new allergens, religious beliefs, or concerns for the impacts the production of genetically engineered food crops are having on farmers and the environment, a huge majority of Vermonters are demanding the right to know what’s in their food.” Monsanto bullies Vermont with threats of legal action if it passes GMO labeling bill But with GMO labeling comes widespread awareness about the presence of untested, unsafe ingredients throughout the food supply, which is sure to turn most people away from buying or eating them. At least 70 percent of the “inner aisle” food supply, or packaged, processed foods found in the center aisles at the grocery store, now contain GM ingredients. Monsanto knows that if GMOs are labeled, its business would quickly crumble. So to stop this from happening, the biotechnology giant has reportedly resorted to bullying the Vermont House Agriculture Committee (VHAC), which just so happens to support GMO labeling by a 6 – 5 majority, into stonewalling until the legislature adjourns for the year at the end of April. According to OCA, VHAC members are thus far refusing to take a vote on the bill, even after a recent hearing in which hundreds of farmers and members of the public testified as to the need for GMO labeling. It appears as though they will continue to hold hearings on the bill until the legislative session ends, which will force H.722 into hibernation, or even kill it altogether. Since this important issue affects us all, it is vitally important that the VHAC vote to pass H.722 as soon as possible. Along with California, Washington, and several other states that also have their own GMO labeling bills moving through the legislative process, Vermont has the chance to lead the way in deconstructing Monsanto’s “Frankenfood” monopoly, and restore freedom of food choice for all Americans. So will the state’s legislators have the courage to actually follow through with passing it, or will they cave to pressures from the most evil company in the world? | Blamed for Bee Collapse, Monsanto Buys Leading Bee Research Firm - Thursday, April 19, 2012Anthony Gucciardi
Infowars.com
Thursday, April 19, 2012 Monsanto, the massive biotechnology company being blamed for contributing to the dwindling bee population, has bought up one of the leading bee collapse research organizations. Recently banned from Poland with one of the primary reasons being that the company’s genetically modified corn may be devastating the dying bee population, it is evident that Monsanto is under serious fire for their role in the downfall of the vital insects. It is therefore quite apparent why Monsanto bought one of the largest bee research firms on the planet.
It can be found in public company reports hosted on mainstream media that Monsanto scooped up the Beeologics firm back in September 2011. During this time the correlation between Monsanto’s GM crops and the bee decline was not explored in the mainstream, and in fact it was hardly touched upon until Polish officials addressed the serious concern amid the monumental ban. Owning a major organization that focuses heavily on the bee collapse and is recognized by the USDA for their mission statement of “restoring bee health and protecting the future of insect pollination” could be very advantageous for Monsanto. In fact, Beelogics’ company information states that the primary goal of the firm is to study the very collapse disorder that is thought to be a result — at least in part — of Monsanto’s own creations. Their website states: While its primary goal is to control the Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) and Israeli Acute Paralysis Virus (IAPV) infection crises, Beeologics’ mission is to become the guardian of bee health worldwide.
What’s more, Beelogics is recognized by the USDA, the USDA-ARS, the media, and ‘leading entomologists’ worldwide. The USDA, of course, has a great relationship with Monsanto. The government agency has gone to great lengths to ensure that Monsanto’s financial gains continue to soar, going as far as to give the company special speed approval for their newest genetically engineered seed varieties. It turns out that Monsanto was not getting quick enough approval for their crops, which have been linked to severe organ damage and other significant health concerns. Steve Censky, chief executive officer of the American Soybean Association, states it quite plainly. It was a move to help Monsanto and other biotechnology giants squash competition and make profits. After all, who cares about public health? “It is a concern from a competition standpoint,” Censky said in a telephone interview.
It appears that when Monsanto cannot answer for their environmental devastation, they buy up a company that may potentially be their ‘experts’ in denying any such link between their crops and the bee decline. This post first appeared at Natural Society

| Shocking photos show result of raw milk man’s 10 days of torture and abuse - Monday, March 12, 2012…Effects of government-approved food in LA County jail Mike Adams Natural News Monday, March 12, 2012 California is now in the business of torturing senior citizens who advocate real food. 65-year-old James Stewart, the California “milk man,” was recently arrested under trumped-up charges, then “lost” in the LA County jail for over a week, during which he was subjected to hypothermia, torture, interrogations, involuntary medical procedures, verbal intimidation, food deprivation and even had his jail cell flooded with saw sewage which he was forced to clean up by hand. Details of that shocking story have been published by NaturalNews at: http://www.naturalnews.com/035208_James_Stewart_torture_county_jail.h… Now photos have emerged that show the before and after of James Stewart. This photo, shown below, shows his level of health and vitality on a raw food diet at age 65, followed by his loss of health and vitality after just 10 days on a California government-approved diet of dead processed foods which were occassionally thrown at him in jail (when he was not being starved of food, anyway). As the photo clearly reveals (see photo at the bottom of this article): • James looks almost 20 yearsolderafter surviving 10 days in the California jail system. • His energy and vitality are drastically reduced. • His skin tone is more mottled and clearly shows signs of digestive distress. • His eyes reflect a kind of emptiness, as if his very soul has been assaulted. • His posture reflects a systemic loss of energy and strength. • There is a clear loss of subcutaneous body fat and a “hollow-ness” to his face shape. • His emotional state is clearly devastated. He has the look of someone who has been tortured and brutalized. (Oh, but America doesn’t torture its citizens, does it? Grow up, people. WAKE UP. This is happening right in Los Angeles.) Remember: California says only dead, pasteurized milk is “safe” for you to drink As you look at these photos, remember that the California government says raw milk is a dangerous, criminal substance advocated by dangerous “sovereign” people who might as well be labeled terrorists. But dead, pasteurized milk and other dead foods are “government approved” for feeding to both schoolchildren and prisoners. (Along with “pink slime” processed meat and other grotesque “food” substances.) When you look at the skyrocketing rates of disease across California today — cancer, diabetes, heart disease, mental disorders and more — ask yourself why the California government is criminalizing fresh, living food while forcing people to eat dead, processed foods. California, which was once a state recognized for its promotion of a healthy lifestyle and freedom of choice is now known as “the torture state” that targets senior citizens for torture and abuse. It is the state where the governor signed a bill into law allowing children as young as 12 years old to “consent” to being vaccinated without parental permission. It is a state that has spent millions of dollars in taxpayer money to target and attack senior citizen farmers whose only wish is to create and share fresh, wholesome food with other Californians. The California press refuses to cover this true story of the torture of a senior citizen milk man The Los Angeles Times is so corrupt and whored out to its corporate interests thatit won’t even cover this story! There is torture and abuse of farmers happening right in Los Angeles, and the LA Times absolutely refuses to cover the story! How’s that for pathetic journalism? (If the LA Times actually starts to cover this story, I will retract this paragraph. But as of this writing, the LA Times has done nothing to cover this huge story of government abuse of innocent citizens.) In fact, to date no newspaper in California has covered this story of torture and abuse of the California milk man. There is complete silence on it. A total cover-up. The lamestream media wants you to believe this never happens in California. But these pictures don’t lie. The recorded testimony of James Stewart is factual and truthful. Watch the video and hear it yourself at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkDrrKhPB7M James passes all the tests for credibility — no criminal record, his testimony cites accurate details of his experience in jail (such as being held in cell number ‘Denver 22′), and he has no agenda other than to assert his freedom to pursue life, liberty and the American dream. For that, he is targeted, surveilled, arrested, tortured, malnourished, brutalized and then his story is utterly ignored by the California press. Shame on you, California bureaucrats and presstitutes. Shame on you for ignoring the plight of this innocent man while you promote the corporate agenda of feeding more dead, processed foods to a diseased population that’s desperate for solutions. YOU people are worse than terrorists because you claim to cover the news, you claim to represent justice, and you claim to stand for the People of California. But behind the scenes, in truth, you are nothing butwicked betrayersof Californians. You would rather see people die of disease than offend your milk industry sponsors, wouldn’t you? No wonder newspapers all across California are losing readers in droves. People are coming to the internet — places like NaturalNews.com — to read the news that “lamestream media” newspapers outright refuse to cover. The public increasingly realizes that big-city newspapers are a complete joke — a medahoaxof fake news that intentionally ignores the real stories that matter to real people. If an American farmer being tortured nearly to death in an LA County jail isn’t news, I wonder what is? Oh, wait: The LA Times is happy to report on Libya’s abuse of “detainees.” See, they cover it gleefully: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/world_now/2011/10/libya-amnesty-inter… But when a California man is tortured and brutalized in an LA County jail, the LA Times won’t cover it. | Bill Gates, Monsanto, and Eugenics Program - Wednesday, February 29, 2012Bill Gates, Monsanto, and eugenics: How one of the world’s wealthiest men is actively promoting a corporate takeover of global agriculture.
Ethan A. Huff Natural News February 29, 2012 After it was exposed that the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the philanthropic brainchild of Microsoft founder Bill Gates, purchased 500,000 shares in Monsanto back in 2010 valued at more than $23 million, it became abundantly clear that this so-called benevolent charity is up to something other than eradicating disease and feeding the world’s poor (http://www.guardian.co.uk). It turns out that the Gates family legacy has long been one of trying to dominate and control the world’s systems, including in the areas of technology, medicine, and now agriculture. TheGates Foundation, aka the tax-exempt Gates Family Trust, is currently in the process of spending billions of dollars in the name of humanitarianism to establish a global food monopoly dominated by genetically-modified (GM) crops and seeds. And based on the Gates family’s history of involvement in world affairs, it appears that one of its main goals besides simply establishing corporate control of the world’s food supply is to reduce the world’s population by a significant amount in the process. William H. Gates Sr., former head of eugenics group Planned Parenthood Bill Gates’ father, William H. Gates Sr., has long been involved with the eugenics groupPlanned Parenthood, a rebranded organization birthed out of theAmerican Eugenics Society. In a 2003 interview withPBS‘ Bill Moyers, Bill Gates admitted that his father used to be the head ofPlanned Parenthood, which was founded on the concept that most human beings are just “reckless breeders” and “human weeds” in need of culling (http://www.pbs.org/now/transcript/transcript_gates.html). Gates also admitted during the interview that his family’s involvement in reproductive issues throughout the years has been extensive, referencing his own prior adherence to the beliefs of eugenicist Thomas Robert Malthus, who believed that populations of the world need to be controlled through reproductive restrictions. Though Gates claims he now holds a different view, it appears as though his foundation’s initiatives are just a modified Malthusian approach that much more discreetly reduces populations through vaccines and GMOs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Robert_Malthus). Gates Foundation has invested heavily in converting Asian, African agricultural systems to GMOs William Gates Sr.’s association withPlanned Parenthoodand continued influence in the realm of “population and reproductive health” is significant because Gates Sr. is co-chair of theBill & Melinda Gates Foundation(http://www.gatesfoundation.org/leadership/Pages/william-gates-sr.aspx). This long-time eugenicist “guides the vision and strategic direction” of theGates Foundation, which is currently heavily focused on forcing GMOs on Africa via its financing of theAlliance for a Green Revolution in Africa(AGRA).
TheGates Foundation has admittedly given at least $264.5 million in grant commitments to AGRA
(www.gatesfoundation.org/about/Documents/BMGFFactSheet.pdf), and also reportedly hired Dr. Robert Horsch, a formerMonsantoexecutive for 25 years who developed Roundup, to head up AGRA back in 2006. According to a report published inLa Via Campesinaback in 2010, 70 percent of AGRA’s grantees in Kenya work directly withMonsanto, and nearly 80 percent of theGates Foundationfunding is devoted to biotechnology (http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_21606.cfm). The same report explains that theGates Foundationpledged $880 million in April 2010 to create theGlobal Agriculture and Food Security Program(GAFSP), which is a heavy promoter of GMOs. GAFSP, of course, was responsible for providing $35 million in “aid” to earthquake-shattered Haiti to be used for implementing GMO agricultural systems and technologies. Back in 2003, theGates Foundationinvested $25 million in “GM (genetically modified) research to develop vitamin and protein-enriched seeds for the world’s poor,” a move that many international charities and farmers groups vehemently opposed (http://healthfreedoms.org). And in 2008, theGates Foundationawarded $26.8 million toCornell Universityto research GM wheat, which is the next major food crop in the crosshairs ofMonsanto‘s GM food crop pipeline (http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_21606.cfm). If you control agriculture, you control the populations of the world TheGates Foundation‘s ties withMonsantoand corporate agriculture in general speak volumes about its real agenda, which is to create a monopolistic system of world control in every area of human life. Vaccines, pharmaceuticals, GMOs, reproductive control, weather manipulation, global warming — these and many other points of entry are the means by which theGates Foundationis making great strides to control the world by pretending to help improve and save it. Rather than promote real food sovereignty and address the underlying political and economic issues that breed poverty, Gates and Co. has instead embraced the promotion of corporately-owned and controlled agriculture and medicine paradigms that will only further enslave the world’s most impoverished. It is abundantly evident that GMOs have ravished already-impoverished people groups by destroying their native agricultural systems, as has been seen in India (http://www.naturalnews.com/030913_Monsanto_suicides.html). Some may say Gates’ endeavors are all about the money, while others may say they are about power and control. Perhaps it is a combination of both, where Gates is still in the business of promoting his own commercial investments, which includes buying shares inMonsantowhile simultaneously investing in programs to promoteMonsanto. Whatever the case may be, there is simply no denying that Gates now has a direct interest in seeingMonsantosucceed in spreading GMOs around the world. And since Gates is openly facilitatingMonsanto‘s growth into new markets through his “humanitarian” efforts, it is clear that the Gates family is in bed withMonsanto. “Although Bill Gates might try to say that the Foundation is not linked to his business, all it proves is the opposite: most of their donations end up favoring the commercial investments of the tycoon, not really “donating” anything, but instead of paying taxes to state coffers, he invests his profits in where it is favorable to him economically, including propaganda from their supposed good intentions,” wrote Silvia Ribeiro in the Mexican news sourceLa Jornadaback in 2010. “On the contrary, their ‘donations’ finance projects as destructive as geoengineering or replacement of natural community medicines for high-tech patented medicines in the poorest areas of the world … Gates is also engaged in trying to destroy rural farming worldwide, mainly through the ‘Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa’ (AGRA). It works as a Trojan horse to deprive poor African farmers of their traditional seeds, replacing them with the seeds of their companies first, finally by genetically modified (GM).” Sources for this article include: http://www.guardian.co.uk http://www.seattleglobaljustice.org http://english.pravda.ru http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_21606.cfm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Eugenics_Society http://www.naturalnews.com/033148_seed_companies_Monsanto.html |
| Feds succeed in destroying entire business of Amish raw milk farmer - Friday, February 17, 2012Ethan A. Huff Natural News February 17, 2012 It is with much sadness that we report the two-year war waged by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) against Pennsylvania Amish farmer Dan Allgyer has been a success. The Washington Timesand others are now reporting that, following a ruling last month by Judge Lawrence F. Stengel that Allgyer could no longer ship raw milk across state lines, he is officially shutting down his entire Rainbow Acres Farm. Provoking Allgyer to shut down his farm appears to have been the goal of the FDA all along, which back on February 4, 2010, conducted a gestapo-style raid on Allgyer’s Kinzers, Penn., property to search for evidence that he was shipping raw milk across state lines. After illegally trespassing on the man’s property, the agents proceeded to harass Allgyer about his supposed involvement in interstate commerce (http://foodfreedom.wordpress.com). Just a few months later on April 20, 2010, the FDA again sent its Nazi-sympathizing thugs back to Rainbow Acres Farm, this time at 4:30 a.m. while Allgyer was still asleep, to conduct another raid. Violating the provisions of their so-called warrant, which specified that any inspection must be conducted during “reasonable times during ordinary business hours,” the agents proceeded to once again ransack the farm in search of evidence to back their claims that Allgyer was engaged in illegal interstate commerce (http://www.naturalnews.com/029322_raw_milk_Amish.html). Following this second sting, the FDA claims to have discovered the evidence it needed, and immediately sent Allgyer a warning letter notifying him that he was in violation of interstate commerce laws, according to their view (http://www.farmtoconsumer.org/aa/aa-26april2010.htm). The agency also filed a civil complaint against Allgyer around the same time. With hundreds of happy and satisfied out-of-state customers that relied on him for fresh supplies of raw milk, Allgyer attempted to satisfy the FDA’s demands by restructuring his farm’s distribution process into private cow share agreements with customers. Such agreements allow individuals to directly purchase shares in the cows from which they get milk, which means they personally own them, and they are not subject to FDA jurisdiction. Rogue judge essentially declares FDA has jurisdiction over private property use, in this case cows But on February 3, 2012, Judge Stengel decided that Allgyer was still in violation of interstate commerce laws, even with the restructured cow sharing arrangements, and ordered him to stop distributing raw milk altogether. Private cow share agreements do not constitute interstate commerce, of course, but Judge Stengel apparently pays no regard to individual liberty, having declared that the FDA basically now has jurisdiction over private property use. Likely worn down from the perpetual and never-ending harassment, Allgyer appears to have decided to simply give up trying to fight this unprecedented tyranny, and simply shut down his farm. Hundreds of families that relied on Allgyer for fresh milk, butter, cheese, eggs, and other nutritious goods will now have to find a new source for clean food, at least until the FDA shuts them down, too. “I can’t believe in 2012 the federal government is raiding Amish farmers at gunpoint all over a basic human right to eat natural food,” said one of the farm’s former customers, who wished to remain anonymous, toThe Washington Times. “In Maryland, they force taxpayers to pay for abortions, but God forbid we want the same milk our grandparents drank.” Sources for this article include: http://www.washingtontimes.com http://www.farmtoconsumer.org/aa/aa-26april2010.htm

| Government keeps salmonella outbreak in restaurants a secret - Monday, February 06, 2012 While government discredits raw milk, it keeps names of salmonella outbreak restaurants secret to protect corporate profits
Ethan A. Huff, Natural News February 6, 2012 The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is getting increasingly bold these days with openly admitting that it works directly for big industry interests rather than public health interests. In a recent report on why the agency did not disclose Taco Bell as being the “Mexican-style” restaurant chain involved in a recent salmonella outbreak, the FDA essentially admitted that it is more concerned with upholding a close-knit relationship with big industry players like Taco Bell than it is with being transparent and telling the truth for the public interest. Last fall, at least 68 people in ten states were infected with salmonella poisoning from food sold at an undisclosed Mexican-style restaurant chain, according to an FDA announcement. At least 20 of these people became so ill that they had to be admitted to the hospital for treatment, and yet, the entire time, the FDA refused to disclose the name of the chain, which was later uncovered to be Taco Bell. Any rational person can see that disclosing such information is not only pertinent and beneficial to public health efforts, but also a necessity if the information itself is to have any benefit or reason for being announced in the first place. But the FDA disagrees, having toldABC Newsin a recent interview that the agency often does not disclose this crucial information for fear that “it could have the effect of discouraging … cooperation between our agencies and the food industry.” What this really means, of course, is that the FDA places a higher priority on catering to its special interests, which in this case includes fast food restaurant chains like Taco Bell, than it does to protecting public health. Obviously the public has a right to know if a major food producer is even potentially selling food that is tainted with harmful bacteria, despite what the FDA claims about the situation. And yet if this same salmonella outbreak had been in any way linked to raw milk, you can be sure the name of the company involved would have been prematurely published far and wide, even if said outbreak later turned out not to have anything to do with raw milk. This is exactly what happened to Organic Pastures Dairy in California back in December when regulators illegitimately framed the company and shut down its business indefinitely (http://www.naturalnews.com). Regulators know that naming companies can be used as a weapon to destroy their businesses When responding to why it did not name Taco Bell as the salmonella offender in the outbreak last fall, the FDA declared that the situation was no longer a hazard, and that disclosing it was not necessary. And one of the FDA’s allies expressed a key opinion in the matter that has huge implications for why the agency so heavily attacks small farmers and raw milk dairies. “In any restaurant after the outbreak is over … the only thing to gain from giving out the name of the restaurant is that it would lose business,” said Dr. William Schaffner of Vanderbilt University about the FDA’s policy of withholding company names during outbreaks. This admission illustrates very clearly that the FDA, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and others know that naming companies severely hurts the businesses involved. This is why these agencies so often name companies allegedly linked to raw milk outbreaks, even before actually showing any evidence that there might be a connection. | Monsanto To Face ‘Biopiracy Charges’ In India - Tuesday, January 17, 2012Sayer Ji OpEd News January 17, 2012 According to an article published this month in the journal Nature Biotechnology, Monsanto is facing biopiracy charges in India. In an unprecedented decision, India’s National Biodiversity Authority(NBA), a government agency, declared legal action against Monsanto (and their collaborators) for accessing and using local eggplant varieties (known as brinjal) to develop their Bt genetically engineered version1 without prior approval of the competent authorities, which is considered an act of “biopiracy.”2 The journal of Nature Biotechnology reported: “An Indian government agency has agreed to sue the developers of genetically modified (GM) eggplant for violating India’s Biological Diversity Act of 2002. India’s National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) is alleging that the developers of India’s first GM food crop–Jalna-based Maharashtra Hybrid Seeds Company (Mahyco) partnered with St. Louis–based seed giant Monsanto and several local universities–used local varieties to develop the transgenic crop, but failed to gain the appropriate licenses for field trials. At the same time, activists in Europe are claiming that patents on conventionally bred plants, including a melon found in India, filed by biotech companies violate farmers’ rights to use naturally occurring breeds. Both these pending legal cases could set important precedents for biopiracy in India and Europe.” An excerpt from the NBA’s official resolution giving effect to the decision, and released on August 11 2011, follows below: “A background note besides legal opinion on Bt brinjal [GM egplant] on the alleged violation by the M/s. Mahyco/M/s Monsanto, and their collaborators for accessing and using the local brinjal varieties for development of Bt brinjal with out prior approval of the competent authorities was discussed and it was decided that the NBA may proceed legally against M/s. Mahyco/ M/s Monsanto, and all others concerned to take the issue to its logical conclusion.” [Official copy of these minutes may be accessed here .] As reported by the Environment Support Group (ESG), the “alleged violation” referred to by the NBA was the ESG’s complaint: “…specifically charging these agencies for criminally accessing at least 10 varieties of brinjal in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu without in any manner seeking prior and informed consent from the National Biodiversity Authority, State Biodiversity Boards and applicable Local Biodiversity Management Committees as required. Such a rigorous process of appraisal is mandatory to protect loss of biodiversity due to misuse or overuse, theft of biodiversity and to secure biodiversity from contamination when transgencis are involved. In addition, the law mandates that when biodiversity is to be accessed in any manner for commercial, research and other uses, local communities who have protected local varieties and cultivars for generations must be consulted and if they consent benefits must accrue to them per the internationally applicable Access and Benefit Sharing Protocol.” Ultimately the initiation of criminal action against Monsanto/Mahyco and their collaborators may result in an immediate suspension of all applications by any of the agencies involved in biopiracy seeking access to any biological resource of India. According to ESG “this would imply that NBA must stop processing Monsanto’s application for accessing two varieties of Indian onions.” India has a strong tradition of thwarting the commercialization of indigenous knowledge associated with bio-prospecting, which includes biopiracy and the search for previously unknown compounds in organisms that have never been used in traditional medicine, with the aim of obtaining lead and/or novel compounds for pharmaceutical patents. For instance, in 1995, two expatriate Indians at the University of Mississippi Medical Centre were granted a US patent (no.5, 401,504) on use of turmeric in wound healing. After the Indian Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) filed a re-examination case with the US Patent & Trading Office challenging the patent on the grounds of its existing prior use in traditional Ayurvedic medicial practice, the patent was canceled. Another example occurred when the Indian government took legal action against a pharmaceutical firm who received a patent for a technique to extract an anti-fungal agent from the neem tree, with the patent eventually being overturned in 2005 1The Bt gene is derived from a soil organisms known as Bacillus Thuringensis, and confers to the genetically engineered plant the ability to produce the pesticide Bt 2Biopiracy is defined as the commercial development of naturally occurring biological materials, such as plant substances or genetic cell lines, by a technologically advanced country or organization without fair compensation to the peoples or nations in whose territory the materials were originally discovered. | Losing your right to grow, harvest and consume your own food - Thursday, January 05, 2012Marti Oakley PPJ Gazette January 5, 2011 No one would have believed that the Russian government would have intentionally starved an estimated 10 million Ukrainian people to death, but the fact is …from 1932-33 they did. During the Holodomor people became so ravenous, some inevitably turned to cannibalism. The Russian government accomplished this mass starvation by seizing control of all food production and forcing everyone to work for collective farms. Farmers and ranchers were forced to give up their land and livestock to the state and were not allowed to consume any of the food they produced; all of it was held in government owned silo’s and terminals. All of it sold for export to other countries and the money used to finance wars. This was genocide on a massive scale. It was a genocide intended to take land and farming away from the people and convert it all to state (corporate) control. It was estimated that 80% of the Ukrainian population were farmers. As the millions died, other ethnic groups were brought in to replace the Ukrainians. And it all began with the Russian government depleting grain reserves and food supplies and then claiming ownership and control of agriculture. While our own government has not yet begun withholding food from the general population, the transferring of other ethnic groups into our communities through the promotion of illegal immigration across our southern border and from the dumping of massive numbers of alleged refugees from many mid-eastern countries into communities where the cultural, religious and ethnic back grounds quickly divide the population, is happening. This is an intentional disruption of these communities not for the purpose of diversity, but rather, to end the sense of cultural and national unity. This is nation busting. Its purpose is to destroy any sense of community or national identity and loyalty. Where is our back up? Here in the US, the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) was charged with maintaining grain reserves and commodity backups. The purpose of the CCC was to maintain a balanced supply of food commodities as a strategic backup in case of emergency and was charged with distributing those back up supplies to the population should they be needed. This purpose has long since disappeared from the CCC mission. Read full article here

| America’s farmlands to be carpet-bombed with Vietnam-era Agent Orange chemical - Tuesday, December 27, 2011If Dow petition approved Mike Adams Natural News December 27, 2011 (NaturalNews) A key chemical of one of the most horrifying elements of the Vietnam War — Agent Orange — may soon be unleashed on America’s farmlands. Considered by world nations to be a “Weapon of Mass Destruction” (WMD), Agent Orange was dropped in the millions of gallons on civilian populations during the Vietnam War in order to destroy foliage and poison North Vietnamese soldiers. The former president of the Vietnamese Red Cross, Professor Nhan, described it as, “…a massive violation of human rights of the civilian population, and a weapon of mass destruction.” A key chemical in that weapon – 2,4-D – is just months away from being dropped on agricultural land across the United States. Dow AgroSciences, which along with DuPont and Monsanto is heavily invested in genetically engineered crops, has petitioned the U.S. government to deregulate a variety of GE corn that’s resistant to 2,4-D, which comprises 50% of the recipe of Agent Orange. NaturalNews broke this story yesterday and published the details: http://www.naturalnews.com/034492_D… If the petition is approved by Washington, it would turn America’s corn fields into chemical warfare zones targeted for mass pesticide poisoning with 2,4-D chemicals. The corn, of course, would be immune to 2,4-D, so it would uptake the chemical and transport it right into the structure of the corn kernels, creating “Agent Orange corn bombs” that would be chemically unleashed when consumed by human beings. This is just the latest example of how industrial chemical giants and GMO companies of the world are committing acts of genocide against innocents. The introduction of 2,4-D-resistant GE corn is, essentially, an act of war against humanity. Food crops sprayed with chemical weapons Agent Orange, which contains roughly 50% 2,4-D, is also cited in numerous war crimes lawsuits. Even the BBC has reported on it: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/3… The use of such chemicals on civilian targets is a violation of the 1907 Hague Convention, the 1927 Geneva Convention, and the 1949 Geneva Convention (http://www.iadllaw.org/en/node/353). TheInternational Tribunal of Conscience in Support of the Vietnamese Victims of Agent Orangehas published a document briefly describing the war crimes committed by the U.S. government in its use of Agent Orange:http://www.iadllaw.org/files/charge… That document states: The chemical warfare waged by the United States against Vietnam though the use of Agent Orange and other dioxin laced chemicals from 1961 to 1971 has caused severe, massive and prolonged consequences for the environment, ecology and health of the people of Vietnam. See the photos of Agent Orange victims Shocking pictures of Agent Orange victims can be seen at the following pages (WARNING, extremely graphic): http://oraclesyndicate.twoday.net/s… http://www.spingola.com/power_elite… http://antiwar.com/orig/austin.php?… http://legacy.bhopal.net/opinions/a… http://vietnamartwork.wordpress.com… http://www.veteranstoday.com/2010/0… http://thetheologianscafe.xanga.com… http://www.commondreams.org/headlin… http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/3… Watch the video of children affected by Agent Orange: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zay… Hear the Agent Orange song by Country Joe. Visit:http://countryjoe.com/jukebox.htmand click on “Agent Orange Song” on the top left. You’ll be able to hear the full song. First Vietnam, now America Even walking around America today, many Americans are born as mutants thanks to the chemicals used in foods, medicines, lawn care and personal care products. That crime against humanity is about to be made far, far worse with the unleashing of 2,4-D on America’s farmlands. The gross deformities, birth defects, neurological disorders and physical retardation we have seen in Vietnamese children affected by Agent Orange could soon arrive at America’s doorstep thanks to 2,4-D. Dow, of course, is widely regarded as one of the most evil corporations on the planet, having already poisoned countless victims with toxic chemicals. Remember the Bhopal pesticide factory explosion in India? That was Union Carbide, owned by Dow. It killed thousands of people, maimed tens of thousands and injured over half a million (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhopal…). Read more about Bhopal:http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/… And learn more about Dow here: http://www.thetruthaboutdow.org/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dow_Ch… Remember: If chemical weapons are used to produce food, then those who consume such foods become casualties of war. Food production was once an honorable art, but at the hands of greed-driven globalists, it quickly became a system of profit seeking and then a tool for corporate domination over the People. Now it has become a weapon of mass destruction, and it is being used to decimate the health of both the population and the farmlands.

| Amish Dairy Farmer Selling Raw Milk Won’t Be Cowed by FDA - Friday, December 23, 2011MICHAEL TENNANT New American December 23, 2011 Milk may do a body good, but selling it without the government’s stamp of approval does not. Dan Allgyer, an Amish dairy farmer, is finding that out the hard way. The federal government is trying to slap a permanent injunction on him preventing him from selling his cows’ product to willing customers in other states — all because Allgyer and his customers prefer to trade in milk that has not been pasteurized. The sale of unpasteurized, or raw, milk is legal in Pennsylvania, where Allgyer lives. In Maryland, where some of his customers live, it is not. The Food and Drug Administration has decided that interstate sales of raw milk, particularly when the state for which the milk is destined bans its sale, are illegal; and that is why Allgyer now finds himself in hot moo juice with the feds. Currently a food-buying club in Maryland called Grassfed on the Hill sends a truck to Allgyer’s farm to purchase and pick up his milk. They then transport it back to their home state, where it is distributed to club members in private homes. Allgyer is not personally selling the milk in Maryland at all. The FDA, whose headquarters are in Silver Spring, Maryland, apparently got wind of this arrangement and launched an investigation. The agency spent over a year and countless tax dollars on an undercover infiltration of Grassfed on the Hill. Its agents joined the club under assumed names, placed orders for milk, and went into private residences to pick up their purchases. Then the FDA conducted an armed, pre-dawn raid on Allgyer’s farm in April 2010, during which agents found raw milk coolers marked for various destinations in Maryland. Now it had all the evidence it needed to prove that Allgyer was engaged in the dastardly act of selling raw milk across state lines. The Department of Justice is asking U.S. District Court Judge Lawrence Stengel for summary judgment to impose the injunction on Allgyer. All the judge has to do is sign the government’s ready-made form, and Allgyer will be banned from ever selling his milk to folks from out of state again, at which point he will be “essentially … out of business,” according to raw-milk advocate David Gumpert. Actually, he doesn’t just get to be put out of business. The proposed injunction provides for the added privilege of having his farm inspected whenever FDA agents are bored or just have the urge, AND he gets to pay big time for the privilege (at rates of $87.57 or $104.96 per hour, plus 51 cents a mile for their travel, plus the regular government “per diem” for meals and hotels). One inspection that lasts a day or two, and involves two or three agents, who, of course, have to write up a detailed report afterwards, could cost $10,000. Maybe they decide to do it once a year, maybe once a month, maybe once a week. Whatever their pleasure. At the end of five years, Allgyer can tell the court he’s been a good boy, and appeal to have the injunction lifted, and maybe it will be and maybe it won’t. If not, the inspection arrangement continues. Gumpert takes issue with a number of the “undisputed facts” in the government’s case. For one thing, the government asserts that Allgyer’s arrangement with the food club amounts to interstate commerce; yet the food was purchased in Pennsylvania and driven to Maryland by the organization that had purchased it, where it was then distributed to members. The commerce took place entirely within the bounds of the Keystone State. In addition, the government leaves out some crucial information. It points out that “a few state courts have addressed” the matters of private food clubs and cow-share arrangements (in which individuals purchase shares in cows and receive the cows’ raw milk in return) but cites only the case in which Wisconsin ruled against such arrangements, conveniently omitting another case in which Ohio ruled in favor of them. Furthermore, while the FDA says that it tested 12 samples of Allgyer’s milk to confirm that it was unpasteurized, it neglects to mention that those tests, whose results Gumpert obtained via a Freedom of Information Act request, also showed that the milk was safe to drink, undercutting the FDA’sargument that “drinking raw milk is dangerous and [it] shouldn’t be consumed under any circumstances.” Allgyer is fighting back with what Gumpert calls “a credible and cogent response” to the FDA’s motion for summary judgment. Allgyer makes several arguments as to why summary judgment should be denied and he be given his day in court. First he argues that his arrangement with Grassfed on the Hill is a private agreement not subject to the FDA, citing some Supreme Court decisions to buttress his case. Allgyer also contends that the case is not “a civil matter” but “a quasi-criminal matter because of the severe sanctions and consequences that could occur as a result.” Therefore, he maintains, he is entitled to due process of law, especially since “there was no probable cause to even file a complaint in this instant case.” As Gumpert summarized the argument, “trying to stamp out a small enterprise should require more careful judicial consideration than just signing a pre-printed FDA order form.” Allgyer further argues that the FDA has not answered Privacy Act questions as required by law, which means that “the information and excessive data [the FDA has] obtained to date from [its] inspections are tainted and cannot be used against us in any matter.” He states that under FDA laws and regulations the warning letters he received from the FDA are not permitted as part of an investigation and should thus be “rescinded, cancelled, abated, and voided.” Finally, he writes that he “requested the oaths of office of the agents involved and did not receive them,” but such oaths must by law be taken and filed or else those agents have no authority to investigate anyone. Claiming that the FDA’s actions have “created a serious dilemma” for him by violating his rights to due process and equal protection under the law, Allgyer makes one final plea for denial of summary judgment, concluding, “The Defendant is prepared to proceed with a public court forum, if necessary.” This, Gumpert notes, is a step most Amish take very reluctantly; but he also believes that Allgyer has good reason to take it: The FDA obviously wants to avoid a public confrontation with an Amish farmer, which is why it filed a written motion for summary judgement [sic] in the first place. It hoped the judge would simply sign its pre-printed Permanent Injunction, allowing the big-shot Justice Department lawyers to walk away without having to confront their prey. No, a public hearing, with a humble dairy farmer making his own defense, in front of a courtroom full of buying club supporters, is not what the FDA had in mind when it launched this case last April. With any luck, however, that is exactly what it is going to get. Then maybe Allgyer and others who in one form or another defy the FDA’s unconstitutional ban on interstate raw milk sales will be vindicated as well. |

December 20, 2011 The U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) apparent war on Amish raw dairy farmers increased on December 6 when they filed a “motion for summary judgment,” with Pennsylvania judge Lawrence Stengler asking for a permanent injunction against dairy farmer Dan Allgyer to forbid him from selling fresh milk out of state. FDA regulation 21 CFR §1240.61 criminalizes any selling of milk intended to cross state lines. After a two year expensive, exhaustive undercover operation, including multiple armed raids on Allgyer’s farm, FDA agents and a team of ten federal lawyers amassed over two hundred and seventy-six pages of evidence allegedly proving what Allgyer openly admits, that he is selling fresh (raw, unpasteurized) milk to customers who knowingly carry the milk across state lines. Thousands of Maryland customers who have been buying from Allgyer for years were the main focus for evidence during the investigation. In spite of the FDA raids and injunction filing, Allgyer has continued to support his customers’ needs for fresh milk and other farm foods, citing his God-given inalienable rights.
Like most Amish, Allgyer is reluctant to participant in the legal system, but he has chosen to respond and his response claims that the FDA action “has created a serious dilemma” by “violating [his] due process and equal protection under the law” and he “is prepared to proceed with a public court forum, if necessary.” Should Stengler sign the motion, the injunction would not ban Allgyer from selling in Pennsylvania, but the Maryland families he supplies would lose their food source, he would lose his out-of-state business and would be subjected to strenuous regulation and unannounced, unlimited, unwarranted inspections at his expense, including costs of travel, food, lodging and per diems for inspectors. A single inspection could cost up to $10,000. Allyger’s response argues that the FDA’s action, though classified as a civil action, is in reality “a quasi-criminal action…because of the severe sanctions and consequences that could occur as a result of the FDA investigation and the inspection” and as such “requires prior notice of the offense, probable cause and official complaint, which is totally lacking in this case.” Organizers of the DC area-buying club Grassfed on the Hill, supplied by Allgyer, helped form the Raw Milk Freedom Riders in support of Allgyer and other farmers like him. “The freedom riders are a group of consumers challenging the FDA’s regulation by engaging in deliberate civil disobedience. They demand the FDA cease prosecuting farmers and consumers for transporting raw milk across state lines,” says the group’s founder, Karine Bouis-Towe. “The riders have staged two ‘freedom rides,’ on November 1 they took raw milk from Pennsylvania to FDA headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland, then on December 8 they transported raw milk from Wisconsin to Chicago, Illinois both times distributing the milk. The FDA declined to prosecute in both cases.” The action against Allgyer is the latest in a string of FDA persecutions of Amish dairy farmers in recent years. Liz Reitzig is the co-founder of the Farm Food Freedom Coalition. She is also a member of the Raw Milk Freedom Riders. |
| Highly Toxic Mercury Present in Processed Foods, Yet FDA Does Nothing - Sunday, December 18, 2011Anthony Gucciardi Activist Post
December 18, 2011 Why has the FDA ignored the fact that mercury, an element that is highly toxic in all forms, was found in a large number of brand-name processed foods? Specifically, the mercury content was found to be contained in high-fructose corn syrup, which also reportedly contains genetically modified ingredients. Instead of addressing this major public health concern, the FDA is focusing their time on crushing beneficial supplements through ridiculous NDI regulations that threaten the entire infrastructure of the nutraceuticals industry. Researchers from two U.S. studies reported that about half of tested samples of high-fructose corn syrup contained mercury. Mercury was also found in nearly a third of 55 popular brand-name food and beverage products which listed high-fructose corn syrup as the first-or-second-highest labeled ingredient. Following the report, organizations like the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy called on the FDA for immediate action: ‘Mercury is toxic in all its forms. Given how much high-fructose corn syrup is consumed by children, it could be a significant additional source of mercury never before considered. We are calling for immediate changes by industry and the [U.S. Food and Drug Administration] to help stop this avoidable mercury contamination of the food supply,”’the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy’s Dr. David Wallinga, a co-author of both studies, said in a prepared statement.
Americans Consumed Over 37 Pounds of Mercury-Laden HFCS in 2008 Mercury is toxic in any dosage, but the information becomes even more alarming when you consider the fact that the average American consumed 37.8 pounds of high-fructose corn syrup in 2008! If this is not explosive enough on its own, remember the fact that this is but one source of mercury exposure. CFL light bulbs, mercury-contaminated seafood, and some dental fillings are a few sources of mercury exposure that affect millions of individuals. The ubiquitous nature of high-fructose corn syrup in processed food products makes it difficult to avoid if you are on a junk food diet that is devoid of essential nutrients. Unfortunately, a large number of people worldwide subscribe to this nutritional program while in the dark regarding the true effects that such a diet can have on the human body. Until the FDA decides to step in (which simply will not happen unless activists make enough noise), protecting yourself and your family against HFCS is your priority. If you eat 100% organic food items, or grow your own organic food, you will not have to worry about toxic high-fructose corn syrup. It’s time to tell the FDA to focus on the real issues, like toxic elements in our food supply — not health-promoting supplements that have improved lives and boosted immune systems. |
| Government engaging in outrageous acts of economic terrorism against farmers - Friday, December 16, 2011California regulators frame Organic Pastures and force raw milk shut down over fabricated E. Coli scareEthan A. Huff, Natural News Friday, December 16, 2011 It has been nearly a month since the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) swooped in like vultures on Organic Pastures Dairy in Fresno, Calif., and demanded that the farm recall and stop selling all of its raw milk products immediately and indefinitely. Five children in four nearby counties had developed E. Coli, and officials automatically blamed it on the farm’s raw milk without so much as a shred of evidence proving this to be true. Nearly a month later, the state’s own tests have now determined that Organic Pastures raw milk wasnotthe culprit.
USA Today reported back on November 20, 2011, that the five children were all infected with the O157:H7 strain of E. Coli, which is believed to be contracted through food that has been contaminated with tainted fecal matter. Since all of the children’s families had allegedly purchased Organic Pastures raw milk at some point, authorities automatically blamed those products for the outbreak, and immediately ordered a full recall and quarantine of every product the company produces. This unsubstantiated, knee-jerk reaction on behalf of the State of California is hardly surprising, as both it and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have been on a crusade to destroy raw milk for decades. But what might be surprising to some is how easily these government agencies were able to target Organic Pastures without first providing a single, credible piece of evidence linking the dairy’s milk to the outbreak. Organic Pastures employs a rigorous food safety protocol called “RAMP” (Risk Analysis & Management Program) that “voluntarily goes far beyond what is required by the CA DHS (California Department of Health Services), USDA (US Department of Agriculture), FDA or CDFA to assure that [their] raw milk is delicious and very safe.” If you review the document outlining the dairy’s step-by-step safety process for yourself, you will see that it is near-impossible for Organic Pastures dairy products to become tainted with E. Coli, let alone make it out the door to customers if it somehow ever does (http://www.organicpastures.com/pdfs…). But none of this matters to state regulators, which arbitrarily and immediately shut down Organic Pastures dairy before even testing the milk and verifying whether or not it was tainted. So for nearly a month now, Organic Pastures has had to sit and wait for these tests, which should have been conducted before any type of recall or quarantine, to be conducted — and all results, of course, have turned up negative for E. Coli (http://organicpastures.com/pdfs/Rec…). Government assault against Organic Pastures an act of domestic terrorism The government’s reactionary approach to “food safety” issues involving raw milk are neither scientific nor rational. One would think that, in order to declare a food product unsafe, it might be a good idea to test it first. But when raw milk is involved, regulators always assume the worst, which typically results in a bout of hysterical and overbearing tyranny against the parties involved. What the CDFA has done to Organic Pastures is nothing short of domestic terrorism. There was never any evidence that Organic Pastures milk products were in any way unsafe or tainted, and yet authorities appear to be doing everything in their power to keep the company from resuming production, which could eventually put it out of business. “This is yet another example of the government engaging in outrageous acts of economic terrorism against farmers and food producers,” commented Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, on the matter. | Preppers Are Now Considered To Be Potential Terrorists? - Saturday, December 10, 2011If you and your family store up lots of food, will you be identified as “potential terrorists” by law enforcement authorities? The American Dream
December 10, 2011 If you and your family store up lots of food, will you be identified as “potential terrorists” by law enforcement authorities? That sounds like an insane question, but sadly it has gotten to the point where “preparing for the worst” has become a “suspicious activity”. Today, there are millions of preppers all across the United States, and the vast majority of them just want to be left alone and do not want the government to interfere in their lives. Storing up food is a completely peaceful activity, and preppers are generally some of the most patriotic and law-abiding people that you could ever hope to meet. Unfortunately, prepping has become associated with “extremism” by many in the government, and lately we have seen some very disturbing signs that authorities are actively seeking to gather information on preppers. So are preppers now considered to be potential terrorists? Well, read the evidence posted in the rest of this article and decide for yourself. The other day, U.S. Senator Rand Paul gave a speech on the floor of the U.S. Senate during which he suggested that having “more than seven days of food” in your house could potentially get you branded as a “potential terrorist” by the federal government. The following is an excerpt from that speech…. Know good and well that some day there could be a government in power that is shipping its citizens off for disagreements. There are laws on the books now that characterize who might be a terrorist. Someone missing fingers on their hands is a suspect according to the Department of Justice. Someone who has guns, someone who has ammunition that is weatherproofed, someone who has more than seven days of food in their house can be considered a potential terrorist. If you are suspected by these activities do you want the government to have the ability to send you to Guantanamo Bay for indefinite detention?
You can see video of this speech right here. It is incredibly chilling to hear a defender of liberty such as Rand Paul warn of such things. But just because a politician says something that does not always mean that it is true. So is there any evidence that Americans that are storing up food are being watched by the federal government? Unfortunately, there is. In fact, Oath Keepers has posted a report about one incident in which federal agents actually visited a food production facility and demanded the names of anyone that has been “purchasing bulk food”. The following come from an article about this incident that was recently written by Rand Cardwell, the president of the Tennessee chapter of the Oath Keepers…. A fellow veteran contacted me concerning a new and disturbing development. He had been utilizing a Mormon cannery near his home to purchase bulk food supplies. The man that manages the facility related to him that federal agents had visited the facility and demanded a list of individuals that had been purchasing bulk food. The manager informed the agents that the facility kept no such records and that all transactions were conducted on a cash-and-carry basis. The agents pressed for any record of personal checks, credit card transactions, etc., but the manager could provide no such record. The agents appeared to become very agitated and after several minutes of questioning finally left with no information. I contacted the manager and personally confirmed this information.
Why in the world would federal agents be so interested in Americans that are “purchasing bulk food”? Don’t they have anything better to do? As I have written about previously, authorities are also now using a tool developed by the CDC to conduct “door to door disaster preparedness assessments” in some areas of the United States. The following comes from a local news report in Tennessee…. The Metro Public Health and the Tennessee Department of Health will be using a tool designed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to go door to door and check to see how disaster ready you are. The door to door assessment will take place from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday. It will be in 30 neighborhoods in Davidson County that have been randomly selected to be the target of a door to door assessment.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want anyone coming to my door to “assess” how “prepared” I am. This is all very, very disturbing. Lately, the federal government seems absolutely obsessed with the distribution of food. As author Brandon Turbeville noted recently, “the U.S. government has publicly raided organic food shops, raw milk distributors, and the Amishwith guns drawn” in recent years. Aren’t there bigger threats to national security than the Amish? Unfortunately, we now live in a “Big Brother” police state where just about anything can be considered a “suspicious activity”. In fact, according to the FBI a bulk purchase of “meals ready to eat” is now considered to be “suspicious activity” that should be reported to them. When the “war on terror” started a decade ago, we were told that we needed to fight the terrorists “over there” so that they would not come over here. Well, now we are being told that the United States itself is part of the “battleground” and that the “terrorists” might just be our neighbors. We are being told that if we “see something” that we should “say something” to the government. In essence, the federal government wants us all to “inform” on one another. Now that most of the big name terrorists have been removed from the picture, the Obama administration and the mainstream media are really hyping the idea that “homegrown terrorism” is a grave danger. Just check out these headlines from the past few days…. ABC News: “White House Unveils New Strategy to Fight Homegrown Terrorism” USA Today: “White House unveils new strategy to combat homegrown terror” CNN: “Measuring the homegrown terrorist threat to U.S. military” The entire focus of the “war on terror” has shifted. According to FBI Director Robert Mueller, “homegrown terrorists” represent as big a threat to American national security as al-Qaeda does at this point. America is rapidly changing, and not for the better. All of this paranoia is going to rip this country apart. In addition, have you noticed how they have taken the word “Islamic” out of their description of the terrorists and have replaced it with words like “extremist” and “extremism”? Well, the truth is that just about anyone can be considered an “extremist” in one sense or another. In fact, a recent Salon article asked this question: “Are Evangelicals A National Security Threat?” These days, if you support an “alternative” political candidate there is a good chance that you will be labeled as an extremist. During the 2008 election, one law enforcement report identified supporters of presidential candidates Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, and Bob Barr as potential terrorists. Today, if you have a religious or political ideology that differs from the “orthodoxy” of the federal government then you are probably considered to be an “extremist”. Beliefs that were once considered normal are now considered to be “dangerous” and “radical”. For example, one unclassified Department of Homeland Security report published a couple of years ago entitled “Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment” claimed that a belief in Bible prophecy “could motivate extremist individuals and groups to stockpile food, ammunition and weapons.” During a Congressional hearing earlier this year, U.S. Representative Sheila Jackson Lee warned that “Christian militants” might try to “bring down the country” and that such groups need to be investigated. Back on February 20, 2009, the State of Missouri issued a report entitled “MIAC Strategic Report: The Modern Militia Movement“. That report warned that the following types of people may be potential terrorists…. *anti-abortion activists *those that are against illegal immigration *those that consider “the New World Order” to be a threat *those that have a negative view of the United Nations As I have written about previously, a very revealing document obtained by Oath Keepers shows that the FBI is actually instructing store owners to report many new forms of “suspicious activity” to them. So what does the FBI consider “suspicious activity” to include? According to the document, the FBI now considers “suspicious activity” to include the following…. *paying with cash *missing a hand or fingers *”strange odors” *making “extreme religious statements” *”radical theology” *purchasing weatherproofed ammunition or match containers *purchasing meals ready to eat *purchasing night vision devices, night flashlights or gas masks All of this is completely and totally ridiculous. Law enforcement authorities should quit worrying about preppers. The vast majority of us that are preparing for the hard times that are coming truly love this country, are completely and totally non-violent, and just want to be left alone. There are real threats to national security out there, but the federal government refuses to address them. For example, our border with Mexico is wide open and it has been documented that terror groups are working in northern Mexico and have been coming across the border on a regular basis. But instead of securing the border, the Obama administration is granting “backdoor amnesty” to illegal aliens instead. In addition, law enforcement authorities should look into the massive breach of national security that the “Fast and Furious” scandal represents. With the full knowledge of the Department of Justice, ATF agents facilitated the sale of thousands of guns to Mexican drug cartels and dropped all surveillance on those weapons once they crossed the border. Those guns will be used to kill people (including Americans) for many years to come. In fact, there is so much corruption and so many “potential terrorists” in Washington D.C. that it should be more than enough to keep law enforcement officials busy for a very long time. So leave preppers alone. Preppers are not a threat. They are not going to hurt anyone. They just want to store up food and prepare for the difficult times that are coming. So what do all of you think about preppers? |
| Fed Interest in Food Storage Facility Connected to FEMA Executive Order 10999 - Friday, December 09, 2011Kurt Nimmo
Infowars.com
December 9, 2011
On Thursday, Stewart Rhodes of Oath Keepers posted a bulletin on the organization’s blog reporting on federal agents demanding a food storage cannery in Tennessee turn over customer lists so they might discover who is purchasing bulk storable foods and storing it at the facility owned by Mormons.
As Rhodes notes, it is part of Mormon Church religious doctrine to store food for hard times and emergencies. Church doctrine states that each family store a year’s worth of basic dry goods along with three months worth of store-bought canned and boxed foods. “These Church canneries also often sell food storage items to non-church members, seeing it as both morally right and prudent to help their neighbors store food, whatever their faith,” Rhodes explains. He then speculates as to why the feds would demand customer lists. “DHS/FEMA wants to know which Americans have food storage so the federal government can at some future point confiscate that food. Just as with lists of gun owners, compiling such lists is the first step toward future confiscation,” he writes. In fact, the government codified the concept of food confiscation and redistribution when president Kennedy issued Executive Order 10999 on February 16, 1962. 10999 was one of several executive orders signed by Kennedy under the rubric of “national emergency” that extended extrajudicial power to FEMA, including the ability to control communications, energy, food, fuel, farms, transportation, highways, railroads, inland waterways and seaports, health, education and welfare. The EO also allows FEMA to organize citizen work brigades under government control and undertake the relocation of the population. 10999 also gives FEMA the authority to control all public storage facilities. On June 3, 1994, president Clinton consolidated all previous FEMA executive orders into one all-encompassing order, #12919. As many have noted, FEMA is not an emergency agency. It is a martial law agency. It is often referred to as the “secret government” of the United States. “It is not an elected body, it does not involve itself in public disclosures, and it even has a quasi-secret budget in the billions of dollars,” writes Harry V. Martin. “This government organization has more power than the President of the United States or the Congress, it has the power to suspend laws, move entire populations, arrest and detain citizens without a warrant and hold them without trial, it can seize property, food supplies, transportation systems, and can suspend the Constitution.” If we take the above into consideration, it makes sense that the feds would be interested in keeping track of facilities storing food supplies.

| NZ food bill to make growing food a government privilege rather than a human right - Wednesday, December 07, 2011Ethan Huff
Infowars.com
December 7, 2011 The God-given human right to freely cultivate food is under attack in New Zealand (NZ) as special interest groups and others are currently attempting to push a “food security” bill through the nation’s parliament that will strip individuals of their right to grow food, save seeds, and even share the fruits of their labor with friends and family members. In accordance with the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) Codex Alimentarius scheme for global food control, the NZ Food Bill, if passed, will essentially transfer primary control of food from individuals to corporations under the guise of food safety. And unless massive public outcry and awakened consciences within the NZ government are able to put a stop to it, the bill could become law very soon. According toNZ Food Security, a group working to protect the food freedom of New Zealanders, the bill will turn growing and sharing food into a government-granted privilege rather than a human right. It will also make it illegal to distribute any type of food based on the bill’s language. This includes seeds, nutrients, natural medicines, minerals, and even water — without expressed government permission. You see, agribusiness giants like Monsanto want full control of the food supply, which means putting an end to small-scale agriculture systems that operate “off the grid,” so to speak. This is why they have worked so hard in places like the US to convert conventional, staple crop systems to genetically-modified (GM) ones that are continually reliant upon new seeds and chemical interventions. As far as enforcement, the NZ bill also authorizes private companies to deploy “Food Safety Officers” that can raid private property without warrant. Not only will these “Food Safety Officers” be permitted to draw weapons against those they are pursuing, but they will also be immune from criminal and civil prosecution for their illegal actions. You can read a full summary of what the NZ Food Bill entails here: http://nzfoodsecurity.org/2011/07/1… What all this means, of course, is that the NZ government may soon be able to arbitrarily decide at any time to restrict individual freedom to plant vegetable gardens and share the produce with their neighbors, for instance. Even “cottage industries,” which include at-home food artisans, could be restricted under the new law. | New food bill in New Zealand takes away human right to grow food - Wednesday, November 23, 2011
InvestmentWatch
November 23, 2011
I was shocked to learn from a friend on the weekend that a new Food Bill is being brought in here in New Zealand. The new bill will make it a privilege and not a right to grow food. I find two aspects of this bill alarming. The first is the scope and impact the new bill has, and secondly that it has all happened so quietly. There has been VERY little media coverage, on a bill which promises to jeopardise the future food security of the country. I read that the bill is being brought in because of the WTO, which of course has the US FDA behind it, and of course that is influenced by big business (Monsanto and other players). It looks like this NZ food bill will pave the way to reduce the plant diversity and small owner operations in New Zealand, for example by way of controlling the legality of seed saving and trading/barter/giving away; all will be potentially illegal. The best website to read about the problems with the new bill is http://nzfoodsecurity.org (I have no connection with this website) Here are some snippets: - It turns a human right (to grow food and share it) into a government-authorised privilege that can be summarily revoked. - It makes it illegal to distribute “food” without authorisation, and it defines “food” in such a way that it includes nutrients, seeds, natural medicines, essential minerals and drinks (including water). - By controlling seeds, the bill takes the power to grow food away from the public and puts it in the hands of seed companies. That power may be abused. - Growing food for distribution must be authorised, even for “cottage industries”, and such authorisation can be denied. - Under the Food Bill, Police acting as Food Safety Officers can raid premises without a warrant, using all equipment they deem necessary – including guns (Clause 265 – 1). - Members of the private sector can also be Food Safety Officers, as at Clause 243. So Monsanto employees can raid premises – including marae – backed up by armed police. - The Bill gives Food Safety Officers immunity from criminal and civil prosecution. - The Government has created this bill to keep in line with its World Trade Organisation obligations under an international scheme called Codex Alimentarius (“Food Book”). So it has to pass this bill in one form or another. - The bill would undermine the efforts of many people to become more self-sufficient within their local communities. - Seed banks and seed-sharing networks could be shut down if they could not obtain authorisation. Loss of seed variety would make it more difficult to grow one’s own food. - Home-grown food and some or all seed could not be bartered on a scale or frequency necessary to feed people in communities where commercially available food has become unaffordable or unavailable (for example due to economic collapse). - Restrictions on the trade of food and seed would quickly lead to the permanent loss of heirloom strains, as well as a general lowering of plant diversity in agriculture. - Organic producers of heirloom foods could lose market share to big-money agribusiness outfits, leading to an increase in the consumption of nutrient-poor and GE foods.

Citizen's seriously need to wake up, understand and realize that what goes on in other countries represents the complications and entanglements of the”human condition” with all of it’s insane forms of existence. Because we are all at various stages of the “human condition” we all need to take a good long look at the many case examples from around the world and ask ourselves, if we want to end up in the same situation. In many ways these forms are a lot like contracting the common cold, getting venerial disease, teenage pregnancy and drug abuse. Any of the stages or forms of the “human condition” can happen anywhere in the world and at any time, if the people allow it and allow their government to promote long term agendas that lead to the moral decline and decline of common sense civil rights in any society. We ned to realize that “natural laws and common laws” are universal because they make good common sense and make life better for each individual and families out there that’s trying to live a better life not only for themselves but for their children. Allowing government to make rediculous laws that betray common sense and humanity should be considered a crime against humanity. The government can pass all the laws it wants, they can even mandate that the world is flat and make it illegal to say and act otherwise, BUT THEY CAN NEVER MAKE THE EARTH FLAT or force any to live up to their terrorism they push. They tried this centuries ago, their best panels of advisors were totally wrong regardless of the law with all it’s penalties and a flat planet they could not make no matter how hard they tried. Again this is just another example of the “human condition” and what we all must endure when empowered numbskulls make important decisions they should never be allowed to make, just like the CO2 tax and all the other climate change laws they are peddling. As this power struggle escalates globally now, the government control freaks will go to all lengths to have their way, even when they are insanely wrong. This is exactly why everyone must pay attention to what’s going on around us globally, so that hopefully eveyone learns what can arrive in a town near you... if your not paying attention to all of the insane forms of the “human condition” within any given society and set of circumstances. Becuse if you don’t, YOU WILL BE NEXT!!! And Government Terrorism will get worse. |
| Illegal “supercommittee” pushes secret farm bill that will cost billions - Thursday, November 17, 2011Mike Adams NaturalNews
November 17, 2011 The concentration of elite legislative power in America is well under way today as the new “supercommittee” is working on an end-run around Congress to put together a “secret farm bill” that would prop up failed agricultural policies with yet more billions in taxpayer dollars.
The “supercommittee” is the newly-formed (and utterly illegal) committee of 12 members of Congress who engineer new debt-related legislation that’s only allowed an up or down vote by the full Congress. This bypasses the traditional debate process by elected representatives, effectively concentrating the power to shape laws in the hands of a mere dozen members of Congress. The very structure is elitist from the start, and it directly contradicts the United States Constitution.
Because the committee concentrates yet more power in the hands of the few, it is being heavily lobbied by various groups and industries that want more government handouts. The farming industry, of course, is lined up at the trough of government slop just like everyone else, and this secret farm bill could cost taxpayers billions of dollars in government subsidies that are tied to commodities prices (which are extremely volatile and could unexpectedly rise). Bypassing representatives to concentrate power with the elite What this latest move demonstrates is that the supercommittee will now be used as a way to bypass the rest of Congress with yet more bloated government spending legislation that puts America further into a debt hole that increasingly appears to be headed toward total financial collapse. That this is all being done without open debate in Congress, and without any public scrutiny of the actions of the 535 members of Congress is yet another disturbing sign that the very fabric of power in America is being deliberately destroyed and re-concentrated into the hands of the few — the “global elite” who now consider themselves kings who rule over the slave masses. Read more at TheHill.com: http://thehill.com/homenews/house/1… America needs hemp farming, not more bailouts for growing low-value crops Of course, the ultimate farm bill for America would be the legalization of industrial hemp farming — a move that would unleash a whole new era of agricultural abundance across the nation. Presently, the USA imports thousands of tons of hemp products each year from Canada, China and other countries. These products include hemp seeds, hemp fibers, hemp clothing and hemp oils. Why on earth is it illegal for U.S. farmers to grow these products when we import them from Canada anyway? If anybody in Washington could pull their head out of the clouds, they would legalize hemp farming for American farmers. So instead of farmers earning pennies a bushel for growing corn or soybeans, they could earn dollars a bushel for growing hemp. This would put hundreds of millions of dollars back into the economy and create new jobs in farming, agriculture and hemp products. Legalizing hemp farming is the ultimate “jobs bill.” Better yet, hemp grows without pesticides and requires little to no chemical fertilizers, either. It’s environmentally friendly, it makes money for farmers, and the demand for hemp products is absolutely huge. The U.S. Constitution is written on hemp. Sails and ropes from the ships that brought America’s original explorers were made out of hemp, and the earliest renditions of the U.S. flag itself were also made out of hemp. Ever wonder why? Because hemp lasts! It’s more rugged than cotton and far easier to grow and harvest. So why isn’t hemp legal in America? And why is the supercommittee in Congress secretly scheming behind closed doors to spend even more taxpayer money propping up a failed agricultural subsidy system that traps farmers in financial slavery while denying them the freedom to grow a crop that’s just begging to be met with additional supply? The answer is simple: Because the U.S. government doesn’t want Americans to have economic freedom! And the DEA, in particular, doesn’t want to give up its tyrannical power over everything related to marijuana. Yet another reason to rise up against tyranny and government oppression If the People of America are to have any hope of restoring their freedom to farm, freedom to garden, and freedom to consume plant-based medicine, they are going to have to take those freedoms back (with protests and Free Speech, not with violence) and remind the government that it has no right to tell the People what they can or cannot grow on their own land, with their own hard work. Heck, the U.S. military is in Afghanistan right now helping the locals grow heroin crops! This is on the record. It was openly reported on Fox News by Geraldo Rivera. Watch the video report here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aj-b… So why is the U.S. government guardian opium farms in Afghanistan while criminalizing industrial hemp farming in America? Because Washington is insane, of course. Agricultural policies are set not to help the American farmer, but to centralize power in Washington and either criminalize or financially enslave as many American citizens as possible. It’s all about stripping power away from the People and delivering it to the hands of the few. Once again, the only man who takes a consistent stand against all this insanity is Rep. Ron Paul. If you support the legalization of hemp farming, the legalization of food freedom and the ending of the ludicrous “war on drugs” and all the millions of innocent people rotting in our prisons today for merely growing and selling a medicinal plant, then your only logical candidate is Ron Paul.

| FDA Trilateral Cooperation Charter – the end of health freedom as we know it - Monday, October 17, 2011Ethan A. Huff Natural News October 17, 2011 As horrific as the recent US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) New Dietary Ingredient (NDI) guidelines are for health freedom (http://www.naturalnews.com/033482_F…), they are not necessarily the worst threat currently on the regulatory horizon. Far off the radar of most in the natural health community is the quietly-developing North American Trilateral Cooperation Charter (TCC), which threatens to merge the dietary supplement regulation guidelines of the US, Mexico, and Canada into a single, highly-restrictive regulatory paradigm. The “Food & Nutrition” section of Health Canada’s “International Activities” website explains that TCC, which was officially signed by representatives from seven food, drug, health, and trade agencies of the three North American countries, is designed to “improve product safety” and “promote public health.” This is done by “facilitat[ing] the communication, collaboration, leveraging of resources, and the exchange of information on issues of mutual interest among the three countries” (http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/fn-an/intact…). There are many problems with such a cooperative arrangement, but one specific area of particular concern is the document’s references concerning the collaboration of product regulation among the three countries. In the summary, Health Canada states that collaboration under TCC is “intended to cover all products,” including “dietary supplements, natural health products, and food.” On the surface, efforts to mutually improve product safety by working together with one another may sound like a worthy goal. But a deeper investigation reveals that the real goal of the charter is to “harmonize” food and drug regulations among the three countries, which is also the goal of the global Codex Alimentarius guidelines (http://www4.dr-rath-foundation.org/…). We already know that the FDA is pushing for full control over dietary supplements, and intends to have supplement manufacturers comply with a regulatory approval process similar to what is required for drugs. Any such approval process is a clear violation of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA), which requires only a notification process for supplement ingredients. It just so happens that in both Canada and Mexico, vitamins and dietary supplements are already treated like drugs, and are subject to excessive government regulatory guidelines and scrutiny. If the US merges its regulatory protocols with those of the two other countries … well, you know the rest. Though there appears to be little that can be done to stop this formation of a North American Union, spreading the news about its existence and its greater agenda will at least help to expose it. And if enough people put pressure on their Congressmen to revoke or resist compliance with the charter, it may be possible to stop it from taking effect.

| The Food Police and government terrorism - Monday, October 10, 2011Examples of government-sponsored terrorism against innocent Americans continue to pour in to NaturalNews. Mike Adams Natural News October 10, 2011 Examples of government-sponsored terrorism against innocent Americans continue to pour in to NaturalNews, and no case better demonstrates it than the Rawesome Foods raid and the ongoing persecution of its organizers. In court proceedings last Thursday, LA County prosecutor Kelly Sakir turned over 1,097 pages of “discovery” documents to the defendants’ attorneys, revealing an utterly astonishing campaign of spying, surveillance, and entrapment that has targeted Rawesome Foods for at least the last two years. NaturalNews has learned that at least three undercover operatives were hired by the LA County prosecutor’s office to infiltrate Rawesome Foods and sign up as members while covertly filming their actions using hidden cameras in their purses. These cameras almost certainly captured video footage of other members at Rawesome Foods, meaning the government itself stands in violation of wiretapping laws that it often uses against innocent civilians who try to videotape traffic stops by local police. NaturalNews has also learned that there are 42 discs of additional evidence which has been gathered by the LA County prosecutor — including interviews with the operatives, covert camera footage, documents and even video footage from a surveillance pole camera that LA County set up across the street to spy on Rawesome Foods. Mass murderers? No, just people distributing unpasteurized milk The depth of this evidence reveals that LA County has spent millions of dollars conducting the most aggressive, vindictive and downright abusive surveillance campaign against a food distribution club that has ever been recorded in human history. The level of resources that has been directed against Rawesome vastly exceeds the resources typically used against murderers, rapists or organized crime mob bosses. Under the excuse of protecting the public from “fresh milk,” LA County has spent millions of dollars and countless thousands of hours conducting the kind of surveillance that would sensibly only be reserved for hard-core violent criminals such as serial killers. “You have to wonder how many people died from murders in LA County while these prosecutors were busy running surveillance on the distribution of fresh milk,” Robert Scott Bell said. He’s the host of the Robert Scott Bell Show and will be covering this issue on Monday’s broadcast (www.NaturalNewsRadio.com). “Couldn’t these law enforcement resources have been put to a better use protecting society from real criminals?” “It all harkens back to Thomas Payne, with Common Sense,” added attorney Ajna Sharma, who represents James Stewart. “We have lost our common sense; we’ve lost the true meaning of what it means to be an American and what freedom means.” Kelly Sakir and the new “green” government tyrants This government tyranny against Rawesome Foods has been spearheaded by LA County prosecutor Kelly Sakir, who NaturalNews can now reveal is a rabid environmentalist who gave donations to MoveOn.org and an environmental PAC (political action committee) in 2004. (http://www.newsmeat.com/fec/bystate…) Sakir is part of a new breed of what some people are calling “government terrorists” who cannot discern right from wrong and merely use their positions of authority to carry out what are essentially terrorism campaigns against those they hate. In reality, the viciousness of this attempted prosecution of James Steward, Sharon Palmer and Victoria Bloch can only be rightly characterized as a “hate crime” being carried out by the government itself, all under a special “environmental crimes” unit that claims to be protecting the public. In reality, however, these so-called “crimes” are all utterly fabricated — just like the “war on terror” — and those targeted for persecution by the state or federal government are usually just innocent Americans who are trying to run an honest business, or distribute honest food, or contribute to society in a meaningful way. The government is literally trying to destroy America’s economy and freedoms Case in point: Gibson Guitars was raided by the federal government and accused of “environmental crimes” for importing wood from India to be used in its guitars. The federal government said that it is now illegal for U.S. workers to “work imported wood from India” and that if it wanted to avoid such raids in the future, Gibson should move its manufacturing jobs overseas! (http://www.naturalnews.com/033454_G…) and (http://www.naturalnews.com/033506_G…) It’s true: Both state governments and federal agencies are now actively working to destroy America’s health and its economy by shutting down businesses and organizations that offer jobs or natural health solutions to the American people. The terror-style tactics being used against Rawesome Foods are indicative of the fact that this is not a customary criminal investigation but rather a government vendetta against health freedom. This is the government, in other words, actively seeking to destroy your right to access real food and thereby protect your health in the process. This is government waging war on the American people under the label of “environmentalism.” More charges may yet be leveled against James, and more defendants may be named NaturalNews has learned that Kelly Sakir intends to name more defendants in the case and even add more charges to the counts already faced by James Stewart. Throwing these people in jail for several days and dragging them into court isn’t enough, it seems; Kelly Sakir seems to want to destroy their lives and make sure they do hard time in prison. What’s clear from this is that Kelly Sakir is out for blood and is on some sort of bizarre punitive rampage against James Stewart in particular and health freedom in general. And she’s using taxpayer resources in LA County to bankroll her personal vendetta against fresh milk and anyone involved in distributing it. (Does she hate cows or something? Did she step in a pile of cow poo as a child and now she forever seeks revenge on cow milk?)
If you live in LA County, keep in mind that your tax dollars are supporting all this tyranny! Take action: Here’s how to protest this madness I encourage you to join me in contacting the LA County District Attorney’s office today and letting them know what you think about this total waste of taxpayer money to conduct extreme surveillance over fresh milk. Their contact page is at: http://da.co.la.ca.us/feedback.htm There, you can call, email or post a form. The best option is to CALL them at (213) 974-3512 because phone calls mean much more than emails. You might consider calling their Hate Crime Unit at (213) 202-7799 and leaving a message complaining about Kelly Sakir and her hate crimes against raw milk. Or call the Consumer Protection Division at (213) 580-3273 and complain that consumer rights are under assault by prosecutor Kelly Sakir who has stripped away the consumer right to purchase fresh milk and cheese. Contact the Bureau of Community Relations at (213) 974-7401 and tell them how incensed you are that LA County tax dollars are being used to hire undercover agents to investigate raw milk instead of being used to track down and arrest violent criminals. Call their Major Crimes Division at (213) 974-3800 and explain that Kelly Sakir is running a major criminal operation against innocent LA County citizens who are merely distributing wholesome food to private members. Sakir sure looks a lot more like the criminal here than James Stewart! And email them, if you want, at webmail@da.lacounty.gov (although remember, emails will probably just be deleted). LA County District Attorneys = terrorists in training? What we are witnessing here, friends, is an out of control government terrorist organization known as the LA County District Attorney’s Office. Of course, most people in the LA County DA’s office are good people. Most of them are hard at work trying to protect society from REAL criminals — the murderers, rapists, con artists, fraudsters and so on. And yet within their midst, they have Kelly Sakir, an out-of-control, rampaging government tyrant who makes the whole department look like a bunch of low life government thugs (or criminal terrorists who actively plot against innocent people). It’s incredible that they keep this woman on the payroll and let her spend millions of dollars in taxpayer money going after RAW MILK! Hey, LA County DA people: Aren’t there REAL criminals that need to be surveilled? Aren’t there violent gang members who deserve your attention rather than a bunch of raw cheese eaters? What is wrong with you people? With each passing day that you allow Kelly Sakir and her rampage of hatred continue, you discredit your entire office and prove all the rest of us right when we say you are a bunch of government terrorists who care nothing for the people and only enjoy abusing your power to get off on some sort of insane ego trip. In my opinion, Kelly Sakir is the real criminal in all this, and if any money should be spent on surveillance at all, it should be spent keeping an eye on Sakir and her abuse of government power. This is a clear-cut case for a criminal investigation in Kelly Sakir’s abuse of power and violation of the civil rights of James Stewart and others. The LA County DA’s office should investigate Kelly Sakir, I say, and potentially bring charges for her outrageous waste of taxpayer dollars and for waging a completely unjustified personal war against Rawesome Foods which poses no threat whatsoever to the public at large. Her abuse of power is so clear-cut that if you open an encyclopedia and turn to the entry for “government abuse of power,” it should have Kelly Sakir’s mug shot there. This woman is an embarrassment to law enforcement, an embarrassment to the people of LA County, and an embarrassment to the very idea of justice in America. I think Sakir is a power-tripping paranoid sociopath who will apparently waste any amount of LA County taxpayer dollars in her quest to destroy her targeted enemies, even when they pose no threat to the public. Send us any tips you have about Kelly Sakir NaturalNews is now accepting reader tips through a more streamlined process. If you have any tips about Kelly Sakir that you think we need to know, submit them to us at: http://www.naturalnews.com/newstips… We will review all submitted tips in a timely manner. Thank you for helping us expose government corruption in LA County and help protect the lives of innocents. Learn more: http://www.naturalnews.com/033822_Kelly_Sakir_Rawesome_Foods.html#ixzz1aN3Y9vKW

| Political Control Freaks: Denmark imposes ‘fat tax’ on food to curb obesity - Monday, October 03, 2011Denmark introduces their own “Hamburger Law”, a taxation trend which could continue through Europe and the US
The Independent October 3, 2011 Denmark has become the first country in the world to impose a “fat tax” on unhealthy foods. The move will place a surcharge on foods high in saturated fat. Butter, milk, cheese, pizza, meat, oil and processed food will all be subject to the levy. The aim is to reduce people’s intake of fatty foods. But consumers have begun hoarding provisions ahead of the price rise and some scientists have suggested that it would be better to target people’s salt or sugar intake. The Nordic country introduced the tax Saturday, of 16 kroner (£1.85) per kilogram of saturated fat in a product. The tax was approved by large majority in a parliament in March as a move to help increase the average life expectancy of Danes. In September, Hungary introduced a new tax popularly known as the “Hamburger Law,” but that only involves higher taxes on soft drinks, pastries, salty snacks and food flavorings. | Disease outbreaks associated with the US food supply have become an all-too-common occurrence these - Friday, September 30, 2011Listeria does not grow on cantaloupes Ethan A. Huff, Natural News Friday, September 30, 2011 Disease outbreaks associated with the US food supply have become an all-too-common occurrence these days, with at least six major outbreaks having been reported just this year alone. And with the most recent listeria outbreak affecting Colorado-sourced cantaloupes, where at least 13 people have died and 70 others have been sickened thus far, officials and the media are once again working the public into a frenzy about food safety. On September 14, 2011, Holly, Co.-based Jensen Farms announced a recall of more than four million Rocky Ford cantaloupes it had shipped to at least 17 US states between July 29, 2011, and September 10, 2011. The recalled cantaloupes are said to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes (listeria), a bacterium not typically associated with produce, and customers are being urged to discard the dangerous fruit. Since the recall announcement was made, the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the mainstream media have been repeatedly warning the public about the tainted melons, and citing purported death and injury numbers to apparently scare the public into paying closer attention to the issue. On one hand, such warnings are necessary and helpful in preventing further injuries and deaths, and can be considered a public health benefit. On the other hand, they conveniently help promote the government’s agenda to seize more control over the food supply through expanded “food safety” regulations. Factory farming is responsible for spreading disease to produce Strangely missing from all the hubbub surrounding the cantaloupe outbreak is any talk whatsoever about what actually caused the outbreak in the first place. Listeria does not just appear on produce, after all — it is typically introduced by outside sources like factory animal feedlots, whose manure cesspools run off and contaminate nearby agriculture fields on a regular basis. Remember the massive Iowa egg recall from last year? Filthy conditions at the facilities where the eggs had been produced were, of course, responsible for the salmonella outbreak. And yet the FDA tried to use the incident to push for more power over the food supply, including the passage of S. 510, the infamous “food safety” bill (http://www.naturalnews.com/egg_reca…). As far as the cantaloupes are concerned, a nearby factory farm is likely the source of the listeria outbreak as well. And yet instead of fully investigating the situation to determine the precise cause, government authorities will likely use this outbreak to push for even more regulatory control.

| Wisconsin Judge: No Right to Decide What to Eat Without Permission from State - Thursday, September 29, 2011Kurt Nimmo
Infowars.com
September 29, 2011
Government and Police Terrorism at it's best in the US
Wisconsin man arrested for selling raw milk.Demonstrating his ignorance of core values enshrined in common law and what Judge Cooley defined as the “right to be left alone” from overly pernicious government interference, a Circuit Court judge in Wisconsin has ruled that people who consume raw milk have no right to do so.
In response to a request from the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund for clarification in a court case on the issue, Judge Patrick J. Fielder wrote that the “court is unwilling to declare that there is a fundamental right to consume the food of one’s choice without first being presented with significantly more developed arguments on both sides of the issue.” According to Fielder, citizens must get permission from the state before deciding what they can or cannot eat or drink. “Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to consume the milk from their own cow,” he decided, and added that “Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to produce and consume the foods of their choice,” not without permission from government. Fielder underscored his belief – and the belief of the state – that an individual must gain permission from government to consume food. He wrote that only “a license holder” can sell milk and the license holder “must do so in a way that complies with the laws of Wisconsin.”
Mike Adams of Natural News talks about the war against raw milk and cheese.
The nanny state in Wisconsin mandated that an individual does not have a right to consume raw milk after the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection said individuals in the state tested positive for campylobacter jejuni, a bacterial infection, they claimed was linked to consumption of unpasteurized milk. In response, Senate Bill 108 was introduced. It would “legalize the sale of raw milk, decriminalize innocent farmers, and allow consumers to buy the milk they choose,” explains Wisconsin Campaign for Liberty. Fielder’s response to the argument that food consumption is a personal choice outside the purview of government represents the troubling and growing mindset of bureaucrats and politicians who believe the state has an overriding interest in individual decisions, no matter how mundane. Recent legal action by local government around the country highlight this. In Michigan, a woman faced 93 days in jail for the crime of growing a vegetable garden on her property. After a court threw the absurd charges out, vindictive local officials came back and attempted to renew an earlier charge against the woman for having unlicensed dogs. City bureaucrats have gone to extraordinary lengths to make sure residents – more akin these days to subjects and vassals – are not allowed to grow their own food. In Oklahoma in 2009, a city councilman said during debate on outlawing community gardens: “How do we know what people are going to be growing? Vegetables? Maybe. Or, maybe something else,” he said. “Is there going to be someone that inspects what is growing?” Tulsa city council bureaucrat Jack Henderson alluded to residents growing marijuana in order to make his argument that the city should inspect gardens. Running afoul of state and its wilderness of rules and regulations is now drearily common, if not outrageous. In August, police shut down a lemonade stand operated by a 4-year old in Coralville, Iowa, because the girl did not apply for a health inspection and pay for a permit. Massachusetts followed suit when state police closed down a green-tea stand operated by a 12-year old.
Woman fined $500 for allowing her kids to run a lemonade stand. The inexplicable and growing effort by cities and states to close down lemonade stands is a growing phenomenon that demonstrates the determination of over-bearing government to regulate – and license and revenue-generate – all aspects of daily life, even the most mundane and harmless. Fielder’s assertion that citizen-vassals do not have a fundamental right to decide what they consume without first gaining permission from an over-bearing government is a strike against the core values of liberty and self-reliance enshrined in the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence. read more ... |
| WI: No Right to Produce or Eat Food - Wednesday, September 28, 2011NoNAIS.org Sept 28, 2011 In scary legal news a Wisconsin judge had gone completely loopy declaring that citizens have no right to produce or eat the foods of their own choice. In response to a request from the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund, the judge issued a clarification of his decision last week regarding his assessment of the constitutionality of food rights. The judge expanded on his original statement that such constitutional issues are “wholly without merit.” He explained that the FTCLDF arguments were “extremely underdeveloped.” As an example, he said the plaintiffs’ use of the Roe v Wade abortion rights case as a precedent does “not explain why a woman’s right to have an abortion translates to a right to consume unpasteurized milk…This court is unwilling to declare that there is a fundamental right to consume the food of one’s choice without first being presented with significantly more developed arguments on both sides of the issue.” Gee, I thought they both had to do with the right to decide what to do with your own body. As if to show how pissed he was at being questioned, he said his decision translates further that “no, Plaintiffs to not have a fundamental right to own and use a dairy cow or a dairy herd; “no, Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to consume the milk from their own cow;” And in a kind of exclamation point, he added this to his list of no-nos: “no, Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to produce and consume the foods of their choice…” You have to wonder if maybe even the regulators are getting a tad uncomfortable with the rulings coming from the nation’s judiciary on food rights. Many of these individuals, biased as they are against raw milk, dabble in farming to some extent, or grew up on farms. This judge has gone way beyond what many of them have come to assume–that everyone has the right to own a cow and consume its milk Even in places that ban raw milk sales, there’s nearly always a provision in state law that anyone who owns a cow has the right to consume its milk.
It seems Judge Fiedler is saying it’s not a “fundamental right,” but rather a right granted us by the state. -The Complete Patient
The original judgement can be seen here. To quote from the main points: 1) no, Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to own and use a dairy cow or a dairy herd; 2) no, Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to consume the milk from their own cow; 3) no, Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to board their cow at the farm of a farmer; 4) no, the Zinniker Plaintiffs’ private contract does not fall outside the scope of the State’s police power; 5) no, Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to produce and consume foods of their choice;
In other words: Put down that carrot and backup slowly. Anything you eat or grow can and will be held against you in a court of law. You have now entered the police state of 1984. Shut up. Why is this happening?
Simple, Big Ag is scared that small producers are going to take away a little bit of the market share. They are using their lobbyist and regulatory minions to put the squeeze on small family farms that have found a niche outside the mainstream in order to scare consumers back into buying at the big teats. When that doesn’t work they resort to government raids and insane judicial judgments against the small producers because Big Ag isn’t able to compete on a level playing field even with the help of all the subsidies they get. What can you do?
Make a stink. Publicize these issues. Write about them on your blogs, web comments, to your representatives and in letters to the newspapers (you know, the crinkly things you fold that has the black ink – still a great tool of free speech as there are plenty of independents left.) Support your local small farmers. Fight back with your pocket book. Hurt Big Ag where they feel the pain, in their wallets. Spend your dollars locally and as directly as you can to small stores and small family farms so that money flows back into your local economy. Write your state senators and representatives and ask them to put forth a constitutional amendment that guarantees all people the fundamental right to hunt, grow, produce, own and consume their own food of all forms (animal, vegetable, fruit, cereals, nuts, fungi, etc).Support your local small farmers. Fight back with your pocket book. Hurt Big Ag where they feel the pain, in their wallets. Spend your dollars locally and as directly as you can to small stores, restaurants and family farms so that money flows back into your local economy. Contact your state senators and representatives and ask them to put forth a constitutional amendment that guarantees all people the fundamental right to hunt, grow, produce, own and consume their own food of all forms (animal, vegetable, fruit, cereals, nuts, fungi, etc). One more thing:
While you’re at it, suggest that all subsidies be eliminated. I mean all of them. Agricultural, steel, petroleum, mortgage, everything. (Got your attention there with that last one, didn’t I!) Subsidies distort the market and inflate the prices of many things while hiding the true costs. You either pay at the counter and pump or you pay in your taxes. Which will it be? The current system is easy for the big wigs with their fancy legal eagles and accounting fancy books to manipulate. What we need is a simple tax system. Throw away the entire tax code and rewrite it on a single 8.5″x11″ sheet of paper in 12 point type with 1″ margins – Something anyone can read and understand. Everybody gets a standard deduction per person. There should be no other deductions, no other ways to game the system. Then everybody then pays a flat tax on all remaining income, wages or capital gains or otherwise. Couple this with a flat national sales tax on all consumer items. Then add the simple rule that the government’s normal budget (not in times ofrealwar) must be balanced including working at gradually paying down the debt. This is a fair tax, a fair system and it protects the future of our children. It is progressive for the poor due to the personal exemption and everybody pays their share above the poverty line. Simplicity. You can make a difference. Do it.

| WI Judge: No “Fundamental Right” to Own a Cow, or Consume Its Milk…Am I Making Myself Clear? - Thursday, September 22, 2011Control Freaks not only in government but even in the courts as one brain-dead judge doesn't even know what the laws are about under common law. The Complete Patient

| FDA wages secret war on raw milk farmers using KGB-style spying and infiltration techniques - Thursday, August 25, 2011Mike Adams
Infowars.com
August 25, 2011 If the FDA is not stopped, it is positioned to rise up as the most dangerous government-run terrorist organization America has ever seen...
After weeks of investigation, NaturalNews can now reveal that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is waging a clandestine war on raw milk dairy farmers through a network of government spies who are coached on infiltration and social engineering techniques. Resembling the Stasi East German police or KGB of the former Soviet Union, these undercover FDA agents meet each month for a “spying roundtable” phone conference called the Raw Milk Call during which techniques of infiltration are openly discussed and encouraged.
NaturalNews can now reveal that the majority of these undercover FDA agents are women, who are more easily able to infiltrate the raw dairy community with techniques of social engineering (see below). The existence of this elaborate spying operation has been confirmed by NaturalNews through three different sources, all of which demanded anonymity as they fear being targeted by the FDA with armed raids, false arrest and destruction of their property, as we recently witnessed with the Rawesome Foods raid. One source told NaturalNews they feared the FDA would stage a Waco-style siege of their farm and invent some justification to assault their farmhouse and shoot them and their family. Yes, this is how much freedom has been lost in America today, where farmers are afraid to speak out for fear they might be killed. And yet, it’s not paranoia: They have legitimate reason to fear their own government is targeting them for termination. FDA uses KGB-style techniques to infiltrate raw dairy networks Through these sources, NaturalNews has learned the FDA coaches its network of spies to engage in KGB-style social engineering techniques in order to win the trust of the very people it then targets for armed raids and arrest. Those techniques include: • FDA agents visiting local farmers’ markets and gathering names of possible raw milk providers to be targeted. • FDA agents calling those targets and trying to convince them to sell raw dairy products by telling “sob stories” of how they have a baby that can’t breastfeed, and they need raw goat’s milk to keep the baby alive. (This is why most undercover FDA agents are women — they make more convincing social engineers when it comes to issues like finding goat’s milk to feed babies.) • FDA agents engage in name-dropping of others in the raw dairy community in order to imply trust. In California, for example, they might say, “I spoke with Mark McAfee at Organic Pastures, and he told me to talk to you.” This technique impresses the target, thinking they have been recommended by a big name in the raw dairy industry. In reality, the whole story is fiction and is just used by FDA spies to try to ensnare other raw dairy producers. • FDA is building a secret government database of raw dairy customers. This is accomplished by training its spies and agents to demand the confiscation of customer lists from raw dairy farmers. Such lists are then delivered to FDA headquarters in Washington D.C. where they are added to a growing database of names, email addresses and sometimes even home addresses. It is not known what the FDA ultimately plans to do with this list. • FDA pays huge sums of cash each month to various state agriculture departments, then sends top-level FDA infiltration agents to those states to train state-level agents in these same clandestine techniques. As one example, NaturalNews has learned the FDA currently pays the Wisconsin Dept. of Agriculture more than $80,000 a month for it to spend on these raw dairy spying and infiltration schemes. Shortly after the program was launched, FDA flew several of its top agents to Wisconsin to walk the local farmers’ markets with spies-in-training agents, teaching them spying and infiltration techniques in what was essentially a “Raw milk spy camp.” • FDA agents have been well trained and schooled on running elaborate entrapment schemes which are operated with the sole purpose of persuading small, local raw dairy farmers to break the law or violate FDA regulations so that the FDA can justify an armed raid on their farm operation. • Many millions of dollars (NaturalNews could not get accurate numbers on the total expenditures) are being spent by the FDA on these spying and infiltration programs. None of these programs are reported to Congress. None are reported to the press. These are entirely “dark operations” conducted behind the scenes, with no official announcements, and with no desire to attract publicity of any kind. They are, essentially, secret wars being conducted against America’s farmers, with no congressional approval whatsoever. • NaturalNews was told that FDA head Margaret Hamburg is not only authorizing these secret spying operations, but that she took a personal role in structuring the operations so that they would not be made public. NaturalNews has not yet been able to confirm this allegation, since obviously the FDA outright refuses to return our phone calls, insisting on operating entirely in secret. • As part of its secret spying and social engineering effort, the FDA also runs a national farmer intimidation program where FDA agents dressed in what look like FBI or “agency” uniforms just show up at farmers’ homes and engage in verbal intimidation in order to dissuade farmers from producing or marketing raw dairy products. This is done without a warrant and completely outside the law. Farmers are routinely told that if they talk about this, they will be targeted with armed raids. • One farmer was told, “If you go public with this, we will come back and have your entire herd destroyed by claiming your cows are infected with mad cow disease.” This is a classic secret police-style intimidation technique, and it explains why so few raw dairy farmers have been willing to step forward and go public with their stories. One sheep farmer was already targeted and had his entire flock of sheep murdered by the FDA working in conspiracy with state agriculture officials, under the false pretense that the sheep were infected. This particular instance is covered in the film Farmageddon, at www.FarmageddonMovie.com • FDA officials have stated, during these monthly “Raw Milk Calls,” that their goal is the complete destruction of the raw dairy industry in the United States, and that achieving this goal was a top priority of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. • FDA has also stated that it plans to use the increased funding provided to it under the Food Safety Modernization Act to expand its secret spying and infiltration network and train even more spies to entrap and intimidate raw dairy farmers. • Many of the people now attempting to join raw milk buying clubs and meet-up groups are actually undercover FDA agents who are gathering names, emails, addresses and other “evidence” to be used to justify future armed FDA raids. National lists are being drawn up and prioritized to create “hit lists” of farms to raid under the Food Safety Modernization Act. • Salaries and bonuses of clandestine FDA employees are raised based on the “performance” of how many raw dairy operations are shut down, how many customer names are confiscated, successful raw milk “buys” and other key milestones of oppression and tyranny that are set by the FDA. In this way, FDA agents are financially rewarded based on the number of American farmers they crush. The FDA’s secret war reveals how the U.S. government is headed toward total police state tyranny
That this situation exists in the United States today is a disturbing and powerful commentary on the runaway power of regulatory agencies which have essentially built their own lawless kingdoms of power, subject to no law and no checks or balances. The FDA, in particular, simply writes its own law without any congressional approval whatsoever. It wages its own secret wars, runs its own spy network and is essentially rising up to become its own secret police organization (or terrorist group). None of this has ever been approved by Congress. The head of the FDA is not elected by the voters. And President Obama is either unaware that all this is going on or refuses to do anything about it. (President Bush did nothing about it, either, and you can bet that unless the next President is Ron Paul, this same look-the-other-way attitude will continue at the White House). The FDA, notably, far from protecting Americans from dangerous foods and drugs, now sees the people as the enemy and spends an inordinate amount of its time and money waging secret spying campaigns and plotting armed raids against innocents. If this rise to power continues, the FDA will effectively become the KGB of agriculture, eventually wielding its own firearms and running terror-style hit-and-run assaults on people engaged in small-scale organic farming, gardening or raw dairy production. This is, essentially, all-out war against the American people, and it’s all being funded by your taxpayer dollars and carried out with the full tolerance of the President himself. President Obama could put a stop to this if he wanted to. The FDA could be reeled in and de-funded. It could be split into two separate agencies: Foods, and then Drugs as a separate agency. Congress could pass a “food freedom rights” law that guarantees the protection of farmers (of course, the FDA would probably just ignore it, as the agency respects absolutely no law whatsoever). The growing revolt against the FDA’s war on innocents NaturalNews has learned, through its own network of informants, that the most likely outcome of all this is a growing citizens’ revolt against FDA tyranny. While this revolt is so far focused on peaceful protest and non-violent resistance against the FDA’s secret war on Americans, it is my personal belief that at some point we will witness an escalation where FDA agents who are discovered and “outed” wind up shot in the head, or farmers begin to fight back and defend their farms against FDA raids through the use of firearms — which is, of course, their right. That’s the whole point of the Second Amendment, of course: To give the citizens of America a fighting chance against oppressive government. This is why the right to own firearms was specifically placed in the Bill of Rights, just after the right to Free Speech. It was not put there as a right to go hunting or to engage in “sport” shooting. It was written there specifically as a way for the citizens to protect themselves from government tyrants who, throughout history, have always — always! — overstepped their bounds to become tyrannical, oppressive regimes that end up using guns against innocent citizens. It is only the mass armament of the People that creates the ultimate “balance” of keeping government power in check. When the FDA enforces its criminal agenda through the threat of guns, it is up to the People to invoke their own Second Amendment protections in response and present an armed, lawful, protective resistance against tyranny that tells the FDA, “If you continue down this path, you will be fired upon.” I believe we are very close to entering the age of a shooting war between farmers and the FDA. I would encourage the FDA agents who are no doubt reading this to strongly consider: Is your war against raw milk worth risking your life? Here at NaturalNews, we do not want to see this situation devolve into a shooting war, and yet, as President John F. Kennedy famously said: “Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.” Unless the FDA backs off from these secret police tactics, in other words, the agency can expect to be dealing with a whole new problem: Lead poisoning. This is the FDA’s own fault, of course. When farmers are stripped of their God-given right to produce honest food and sell it to their neighbors, and when they are treated like criminals and terrorists by an out-of-control, rogue federal agency that respects no law and no rights, it is only a matter of time before some of these farmers are driven to the point of shooting back. And I dare say, farmers are far better shots than FDA agents. Help us end this insanity by leaking intel NaturalNews has already received information hinting that even many agents within the FDA are fed up with the agency’s illegal war on farmers. If you work for the FDA, or with the FDA, or participated in FDA raids in any way, and if you have intelligence that needs to be made public to help end this secret war, NaturalNews will protect your anonymity, just as we have the other sources who provided intelligence for this story. You may submit tips to us at: http://www.naturalnews.com/newstips… Our goal is to see the FDA’s war exposed, to see Congress take action to halt the FDA’s actions, and to see the rights of farmers protected under law. We do not wish to see this escalate into the violence that now seems likely. Obviously, do not submit tips to us from your work computer, because that can be tracked. Use an internet cafe so that your IP address cannot be tracked by anyone. Do NOT include your real name, and if you give us an email address, make sure it is an anonymous email that would not link back to your actual name or work location. Remember: The government is also tracking and reading your emails, so take all necessary steps to protect your privacy and safety. We are, after all, dealing with a terrorist organization in the FDA. The FDA may stop at nothing to protect its power and continue waging its war on American farmers. NaturalNews is actively gathering and distributing intelligence on this situation, publicizing the truth that the FDA wants to keep secret — that it is waging a clandestine, illegal war against America’s farmers, using Stasi-style, or KGB-inspired secret police tactics combined with the threat of violence to crush resistance. This is a campaign of terrorism being waged against innocent farmers in America, and it is a sign of a government out of control… a government which, in many ways, has become an enemy of the People and an enemy of freedom. The FDA wants MORE power And the FDA is just getting warmed up. Once the new funding from the Food Safety Modernization Act kicks in, this agency promises to unleash an army of new agents to sweep across the countryside, detaining gardeners and small farmers, demanding “show me your papers!” Meanwhile, its agents will be terrorizing, intimidating and threatening everyone except the big agriculture giants which are always exempt from government scrutiny (even though they are the ones causing all the food safety problems in the first place). If the FDA is not stopped, it is positioned to rise up as the most dangerous government-run terrorist organization America has ever seen. Already responsible for the death of at least 100,000 Americans each year who die from taking FDA-approved medications, this agency is now hell bent on destroying an entire food-producing industry while exploiting the most insidious tactics of intimidation and oppression that have ever been used throughout the world’s most criminal regimes: Stalin, Pol Pot, Hitler and others. We are watching the history of tyrannical government oppression repeat itself here, and just as Mao murdered hundreds of thousands of intellectuals, and Hitler gassed millions of Jews, the FDA is determined to silence and destroy the livelihoods of countless American farmers who are only guilty of “weapons of mass nutrition.” (http://counterthink.com/Rawesome_Fo…) May God help us all. What we need to see right now is the Dept. of Justice conducting an armed raid on the FDA, arresting all the top FDA officials and charging them with criminal conspiracy to deprive American farmers of their rights. Only then can we see justice served in America… and the rights of a free people protected under law. Sources for this story This story is triple-sourced. The identity of the sources shall remain protected by NaturalNews, as they rightfully fear for their lives. | Breaking News: Rawesome Foods raid victims stripped of First Amendment rights with court gag order - Sunday, August 07, 2011Victoria Bloch was released from jail in LA County last night, but only under the condition that she completely give up her First Amendment rights Mike Adams Natural News
Aug 6, 2011 Victoria Bloch was released from jail in LA County last night, but only under the condition that she completely give up her First Amendment rights and refrain from talking to anyone about the case. NaturalNews has confirmed this gag order was placed on Victoria and is also going to be placed on James Stewart and Sharon Palmer as a condition of their release (they are reportedly making bail today and may be home by this evening). This gag order is, of course, an effort by the California court system to try to quell the rising tidal wave of public outrage against the armed government raids against a raw dairy farm and private buyer’s club — a raid that many people who witnessed it described, in their own words, as “government terrorism” against the People. First, the government attempts to take away their right to engage in commerce and enter private contracts. Then, the government vandalizes this buying club, steals their cash, destroys their entire product inventory and steals the computers from the store. The owners (and conspiring farmers) are arrested at gunpoint and taken to jail without even being read their rights. And finally, to top it off, they are slapped with a gag order which prohibits them having their First Amendment rights so that they might tell their side of the story. This is a total assault on freedom by the government and how government terrorism is on the rise. NaturalNews has learned that under this gag order, these raw milk advocates are prevented from: • Speaking to any member of the press.
• Tweeting or blogging about the raid.
• Posting anything on Facebook or websites.
• Sending emails about the case.
• Communicating in any way, verbally or non-verbally about the government raids conducted against them. Join the online revolt against government-sponsored terrorism of American farmers Meanwhile, public outrage is rapidly spreading. A viral Tweet campaign has been launched that has people tweeting #rawesome and#farmageddon across the web (http://www.naturalnews.com/033243_r…), and a new video has just been posted by Sarah Brown that interviewed several people who witnessed the raid. Watch this video to see government terrorists stealing computers and business files from Rawesome Foods: http://naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=C3E89… or see it on YouTube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xzlr… I’ve just completed an interview with Lela Buttery, who is at the LA County Courthouse and is watching for the release of the “prisoners” James Steward and Sharon Palmer. That interview will be posted here on NaturalNews shortly. Alex Jones will be commenting on this developing story on his Sunday broadcast from www.InfoWars.com and here at NaturalNews, we continue to gather intelligence from the front lines about who is behind this raid and why such evil criminals exist in our government. More stories soon… Thank you for sharing our stories and continuing to spread the word about these acts of government terrorism against dairy farms and raw milk buyer’s clubs. read more ... |
| Health Ranger: ‘FDA fights organic farmers’ Government Terrorism on the Rise - Sunday, August 07, 2011RT
Aug 6, 2011 For the past several years organic foods have received an increase of attention due to the lack of pesticides and not being genetically altered. Many people are demanding that their food be untouched. Recently a SWAT team arrested farmers for selling raw milk to customers. Is it a crime to drink raw milk or does the government feel left out? Mike Adams, health ranger, first broke the story any tells us why the FDA doesn’t approve of this.

| Feds raid Amish farm for the crime of selling raw milk - Thursday, June 30, 2011A year long sting? 5 A.M raid? An undercover agent using aliases? The crime in question: unpasteurized milk. Bella Muse Natural News
June 30, 2011 A year long sting? 5 A.M raid? An undercover agent using aliases? The crime in question: unpasteurized milk. It is absolutely absurd to know that these kinds of exaggerated situations actually take place. And even worse, that our tax dollars fund them. It’s no secret that the FDA can be the least reliable source of information regarding health and nutrition. They’ve proven time and again to care little about the facts that prove holistic approaches cure diseases, and have made extreme efforts to criminalize most of those approaches. They’ve also made it abundantly clear that our personal freedoms are irrelevant to them. Raw milk became a target of espionage when the FDA held a yearlong sting operation to stop Rainbow Acres Farm from selling raw milk to customers. “It is the FDA’s position that raw milk should never be consumed,” said Tamara N. Ward, spokeswoman for the FDA. The farm’s owner, Dan Allgyer, didn’t respond, but his customers were furious at what they said was government overreach. “I look at this as the FDA is in cahoots with the large milk producers,” said Karin Edgett, a D.C. resident who buys from Rainbow Acres. “I don’t want the FDA and my tax dollars to go shut down a farm that hasn’t had any complaints against it. They’re producing good food, and the consumers are extremely happy with it.” Pete Kennedy, president of the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund, said undercover stings are not unheard of. “It happens quite a bit. It’s almost like they treat raw milk as crack. It’s happened in a number of states, and at the federal level,” he said. (http://www.washingtontimes.com/news…) It is blatantly wrong for the FDA to deny people their rights to buy raw milk. Raw milk has been consumed long before WWII and never was it considered harmful. On the contrary, it was considered a whole food. There are undeniable facts that prove pasteurized milk destroys part of the vitamin C in raw milk, kills beneficial lactic-acid bacteria which help ward off pathogens while encouraging the growth of harmful bacteria. The pasteurization also makes insoluble the major part of the calcium contained in raw milk, leading to bad teeth, nervous system problems, and rickets. And with the loss of phosphorus associated with calcium, bone and brain formation suffer serious setbacks. | Legalize Milk, Real Milk - Friday, June 17, 2011Mark Thornton | Milk in its natural state – raw milk – is consumed by very few Americans, because it is illegal. Mark Thornton LewRockwell.com
June 16, 2011 Got Milk? Most Americans think they drink milk on a regular basis. In fact, virtually all these people are consuming pasteurized milk, not milk. Milk in its natural state – raw milk – is consumed by very few Americans, because it is illegal in many states and thoroughly discouraged by federal health organizations, regulators, and the Big Dairy lobby. Raw milk is prohibited in Canada and Australia, although raw milk and raw-milk products are legal almost everywhere else. In fact, in countries with the best cuisines, such as France, raw milk and raw-milk products are considered the high-quality choice. No wonder. Raw milk is fresher, better tasting, and more nutritious. It is fresher because only refrigeration is used to prevent spoilage, and you immediately know when it is going bad because of the smell and taste. It has to be produced locally or quickly shipped and consumed. Raw milk is more nutritious than pasteurized milk. Raw milk has living white blood cells, mammary-gland cells, various bacteria (i.e., probiotics), and several active enzymes, which are all destroyed in pasteurization. Read more |

| The Milk Police violating the laws to people's rights and freedoms - Wednesday, May 18, 2011Ron Paul | An unconstitutional misapplication of the commerce clause for legislative ends.
May 18, 2011
On April 20th, after a year-long undercover sting operation, armed federal agents acting on behalf of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) raided the business of Pennsylvanian Amish farmer Dan Allgyer to prevent him from selling his unpasteurized milk to willing, fully-informed customers in Maryland. Federal agents wasted a whole year and who knows how many of our tax dollars posing as customers in order to catch Allgyer committing the “crime” of selling his milk. He was not tricking people into buying it, he was not forcing people to purchase it, and there had been no complaints about his product. These were completely voluntary transactions, but ones that our nanny-state federal government did not approve of, and so they shut down his business. The arrogance of the FDA and so many other federal agencies is simply appalling. These types of police state raids on peaceful businessmen, so reminiscent of our tyrannical federal drug war, have no place in a free society.
The FDA claims its regulatory powers over food safety give it the authority to ban the interstate sales of raw milk, but this is an unconstitutional misapplication of the commerce clause for legislative ends. As we have seen, if the executive branch feels hamstrung by the fact that our framers placed lawmaking authority in the Legislative Branch, they simply make their own laws and call them “regulations.” We all know how the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) uses such bogus regulation authority to harass, hinder, and shut down countless other legitimate businesses. Sadly, Congress has been far too lax for far too long as the executive branch continues to encroach on its areas of responsibility and thereby undermines our system of government. Most Americans understand that if you don’t want to drink unpasteurized milk you simply do not buy it. But the federal government solution is pre-dawn raids which destroy the livelihoods of honest, hardworking families in this time of continued economic hardship. I am outraged by this raid and the many others like it, and that is why last week I introduced HR 1830, a bill to allow the shipment and distribution of unpasteurized milk and milk products for human consumption across state lines. This legislation removes the unconstitutional restraint on farmers who wish to sell or otherwise distribute, and people who wish to consume, unpasteurized milk and milk products. Many Americans have done their own research and come to the conclusion that unpasteurized milk is healthier than pasteurized milk. These Americans have the right to consume these products without having the federal government second-guess their judgment or thwart their wishes. If there are legitimate concerns about the safety of unpasteurized milk, those concerns should be addressed at the state and local level. I am hoping my colleagues in the House will join me in promoting individual rights, the original intent of the Constitution, and federalism by cosponsoring this legislation to allow the interstate shipment of unpasteurized milk and milk products for human consumption. If we are not even free anymore to decide something as basic as what we wish to eat or drink, how much freedom do we really have left? This post taken from Ron Paul’s House website.

| Free our food - Wednesday, May 18, 2011Portland Pheonix | “From farm to table”: It’s the rallying cry for small-scale farming operations in Maine. Deirdre Fulton The Portland Phoenix
May 16, 2011 “From farm to table” isn’t just a meaningless foodie slogan anymore. It’s the rallying cry for the smallest of small-scale farming operations in Maine, which are fighting against what they consider to be burdensome state and federal regulations. In the process, they’re laying the groundwork for a nationwide “food sovereignty” movement, aimed at restoring the direct relationship between food producers and consumers, while reducing government interference in local food systems. It started on the Blue Hill peninsula, a cluster of tiny, rural, coastal towns about three hours northeast of Portland. A controversy over poultry regulations led a group of family farmers to Augusta, where they told legislators that state food-safety rules were too strict. They claimed that current law could require them to spend tens of thousands of dollars in permitting fees, equipment, and new facilities, just to butcher a few chickens and sell the meat to their neighbors. At a public hearing and later at a work session, the farmers were told — sympathetically, but still — that if the state were to loosen its meat-inspection conditions, federal funding would be pulled. Hal Prince, director of the state’s Quality Assurance and Regulation division within the agriculture department, explains that in order for the state to run its own meat-inspection program, its standards “have to be at least equal to the [US Department of Agriculture].” The USDA chips in about $200,000 — roughly half of the program’s operating costs. “It didn’t have to do with food safety, it had to do with funding,” says Heather Retberg of Quill’s End Farm in Penobscot, a town of about 1300 people, where the chicken-butchering controversy originated. “The USDA is determining rules for products that are never leaving the state or even our own communities. We realized, if these things are happening to us, they’re happening to other small farms around the state.” So began a series of meetings between local farmers determined to align food policy with their food philosophy. It’s a battle with national implications, both legally and economically. And it exposes a key problem in the American system of food-safety regulation: states seeking to boost local producers are required to treat tiny farmers almost as if they are part of the agro-industrial complex. | The War on Milk – GM Dairy and Cancer Links - Wednesday, May 18, 2011There have been many studies have shown a definite link between increased IGF-1 levels and breast, colon, and prostate cancer. Herbert Yu and Thomas Rohan addressed this in their study “Role of the Insulin-like Growth Factor Family in Cancer Development and Progression.” Brandon Turbeville
Activist Post
Wednesday, May 18, 2011 I wrote an article recently detailing the impacts of rBGH on the welfare of dairy cows. I explained how the use of rBGH was responsible for increased rates of mastitis and how rBGH injections actually have the potential to decrease milk production. Yet, aside from the damage to the animals, rBGH usage is significant in that it also affects humans consuming the milk. This is because Insulin Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1), another powerful hormone increased in the animals’ system by injections of rBGH, lingers in the milk and has been linked to breast, colon, and prostate cancer in humans.[1] IGF-1 is present naturally in both cows and humans, and is important for mediating cellular response to growth hormones. While the growth hormones themselves are quite different, cow and human IGF-1 are identical to one another.[2] Humans consume their own IGF-1 which is digested in the stomach and, obviously, is harmless. However, the IGF-1 present in cow milk, especially that which comes from animals that were treated with rBGH survives digestion and moves to the intestinal tract. [3] This is due to the fact that the IGF-1 produced in human saliva is free IGF-1 and is digested by the stomach. The IGF-1 in cow milk however, is protected from digestion by the milk protein casein and bypasses the digestive process.[4] There have been many studies have shown a definite link between increased IGF-1 levels and breast, colon, and prostate cancer. Herbert Yu and Thomas Rohan addressed this in their study “Role of the Insulin-like Growth Factor Family in Cancer Development and Progression.” In their conclusion they state: Laboratory experiments demonstrate that IGF’s are able to stimulate the growth of a wide variety of cancer cells and to suppress apoptosis. In addition to their direct effects on cancer cells, IGF’s also interact synergistically with other mitogenic molecules and counteract antiproliferative molecules that are involved in cancer development and progression. Findings of experimental studies are supported by the observations of epidemiologic studies, which have shown that elevated levels of IGF-1 in the circulation are associated with increased risk for several common cancers.[5]
The National Institute of Health (NIH) conference discussion entitled “Insulin-like Growth Factors and Cancer,” which was published in the Annals of Internal Medicine in 1995, explains the connection a bit further. Here it is stated: As could be predicted from the importance of IGF’s, their binding proteins, and their receptors in normal cellular growth and development, it has become apparent over the past few years that IGF’s are important mitogens in many types of malignancies. Although these conclusions were initially derived from in vitro studies, IGF’s may enhance in vivo tumor cell formations, growth, and even metastasis. Insulin-like Growth Factors may reach tumors from the circulation (endocrine) or as a result of local production by the tumor itself (autocrine) or by adjacent stromal tissue (paracrine). Tumors also express many of the IGF-binding proteins, which modulate IGF action, and IGF receptors, which mediate the effects of IGF’s on tumors. We highlight important aspects of IGF’s in normal cell growth and their role in certain malignancies.[6]
Essentially, the evidence is becoming clearer and clearer that IGF’s (IGF-1, IGF-2, insulin) play an important role in the development and spread of many different forms of cancers.[7]
In relation to breast, colon, and prostate cancer, it is well known that increased levels of estrogen can be a major cause. This is the reason why the improper and overuse of soy products is such a problem and why they are implicated in the increase in these forms of cancers, as well as the physical “feminizing” of young men and the early development of young girls. While neither increased soy nor increased IGF-1 is likely the sole cause of these cancers, they are most definitely a major factor, and they apparently work in tandem with one another. Much of the scientific evidence shows that IGF-1 encourages the proliferation of excess estrogen, while at the same time encouraging tumor growth. Dr. LeRoith addresses this at the same NIH conference listed above when he says: Many cancers, especially those developing in the post-menopausal period, express estrogen and progesterone receptors. . . . . . In addition to classic hormones, several growth factors including transforming growth factors, epidermal growth factors, and IGF’s, have been shown to be involved in breast cancer. . . . . . Estrogen receptor-positive tumors will thus respond to antiestrogens such as tamoxifen, which is widely used clinically. Initially, it was thought to affect cancer cells primarily by blocking the activation of estrogen receptors; it has also been shown, however, to decrease circulating IGF-1 levels in women with breast cancer and may thus prove effective in treating both estrogen receptor-positive and estrogen receptor-negative cancers. Another agent that inhibits the proliferation of breast cancer cells is retinoic acid and its derivatives. . . . . . The mechanism by which retinoids affect the IGF-induced growth of breast cancer cells seems to involve modulation of local IGF-binding protein production; specifically, retinoic acid may also reduce circulating IGF-1 levels and may thus affect tumor growth in vivo by more than one mechanism. The above data suggest that IGF’s are likely to be involved in breast cancer at the level of tumor growth and perhaps at the level of initial development and later metastases. Ongoing studies involve attempts to interfere with the IGF system to develop additional therapeutic regimens.[8]
In effect, Dr. LeRoith is showing that IGF-1 can play a major role in breast cancer due to the fact that breast cancer cells react quite strongly in its presence. This is also evidenced by the fact that many doctors have recognized this connection and are trying to treat breast cancer through reducing and manipulating IGF levels. But if IGF levels do not cause cancer directly, they still can play a major role in promoting its growth through increase in estrogen. This applies to colon and prostate cancer as well. With respect to colon cancer, for instance, it has been shown that IGF-1 receptors are found throughout the intestines with most of those receptors existing in the colon. In a study published in the British Journal of Cancer, it was found that 5 out of the 8 human colorectal cancer cell lines responded to IGF-1. Indeed, IGF-1 increased growth in the cancerous cells by as much as 3-fold.[9] Furthermore, past studies have offered evidence which may suggest that colon carcinoma tumors produce IGF-1 on their own for the purposes of stimulating their own growth.[10] When taken together, this evidence helps to understand how increased levels of IGF-1 contribute to colon cancer. However, colon, breast, and prostate cancers are not the only diseases associated with IGF-1. Osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer, as well as lung cancer has been linked to IGF-1. In the same NIH conference listed above, Dr. Lee Helman states: Osteosarcoma is the most common bone tumor in children, usually occurring during the adolescent growth spurt at sites of rapid bone growth. Because IGF-1 was initially described as the factor produced in the liver that directly mediated the effect of growth hormone on skeletal growth, there has been interest in a potential role for IGF-1 in the pathogenesis of osteosarcoma. Support for a role for IGF-1 in osteosarcoma growth comes from data showing that IGF-1 is a potent mitogen for human osteogenic sarcoma cells. Further, several reports have shown that a rat chondrosarcoma ( a closely related tumor) and a murine osteosarcoma are growth-inhibited in animals that have had hypophysectomy, presumably through the inhibition of the growth hormone – IGF axis. . . . . . It therefore appears that the growth hormone – IGF-1 axis may play a role in the unregulated proliferation of osteosarcoma tumor cells and that blocking of this axis using somatostatin analogs that reduce the circulating levels of growth hormone and IGF-1 may have therapeutic potential.[11]
IGF-1 is also known to play a role in lung development, and for that reason has been implicated as a cause in some forms of lung cancer. Another study published in the British Journal of Cancer in 1992 makes this clear. It says: Thus IGF’s seem to be important in lung development and are also implicated in growth regulation of lung tumors. Primary lung tumors possess IGF-1 binding sites as shown by autoradiography, with the highest density of receptors in squamous cancers and small cell lung cancer. . . . . Thus there is good evidence that lung cancer cells produce IGF-1 and IGF BP’s, express IGF binding sites and exhibit a mitogenic response to exogenous IGF-1, suggesting that IGF-1 can function as an autocrine growth factor for lung cancer. [12]
Indeed, with the evidence cited above, and with no lack of scientific studies which corroborate the link between IGF-1 and cancer, there is no logical reason as to why anyone would consume or approve a product like rBGH in dairy milk. Yet, as will be discussed in a future article, the FDA has not only promoted the hormone, but it has actually moved to try and prevent consumers from being able to avoid it. While its initial attempt may have failed, recent attacks launched on raw milk producers should serve as a warning sign that the freedom to choose wholesome and healthy foods will not be respected by the FDA. May 17, 2011 Four weeks after the government moved to shut down Amish farmer Dan Allgyer for selling fresh, unpasteurized milk across state lines, angry moms who made up much of his customer base rallied on the Capitol’s grounds Monday to demand that Congress rein in the food police. The moms milked a cow just across the street from the Senate and served up gallons of fresh milk, playfully daring one another to drink what, if sold across state lines, would be considered contraband product. “The FDA really screwed up this time. They got between a mom and a farmer,” said Mark McAfee, who runs Organic Pastures Dairy Co. in Fresno, Calif., which under his state’s laws he legally sells at 400 markets, but which he cannot ship across state lines without running afoul of the Food and Drug Administration.

| Indian farmers commit suicide due to devastation caused by GM crops - Tuesday, May 17, 2011Foundational changes that have taken place in the agriculture sector of India have led to a epidemic of farmer suicides over the past 16 years, according to a new report.Ethan A. Huff Natural News May 17, 2011 Foundational changes that have taken place in the agriculture sector of India have led to a epidemic of farmer suicides over the past 16 years, according to a new report. Released by the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice at New York University’s (NYU) Law School, the report explains that, on average, one Indian farmer commits suicide every 30 minutes in response to the devastation caused by the effects of globalization on agriculture, and genetically-modified organisms (GMO) in particular. The report, entitled, “Every Thirty Minutes: Farmer Suicides, Human Rights and the Agrarian Crisis in India,” (http://www.chrgj.org/publications/d…) explains that Indian policy has stripped many farmers of their livelihoods by greatly decreasing the value of their crops. Combined with the introduction of GM crops that trap farmers into an endless cycle of debt without providing any substantial benefits, and you end up with a society marked by despair, hopelessness, and an increase in suicides. What was once an agricultural system based on the diverse cultivation of natural, beneficial food and use crops has morphed into a system of unsustainable cash-crop agriculture. Countless millions of farmers began to adopt crops like Monsanto’s Bt cotton, which recent studies have shown provide no benefits, but that lock farmers into a perpetual system of dependence that ends up bankrupting them (http://www.naturalnews.com/031266_G…). Just like what has happened in the US, many Indian farmers have been hoodwinked by multinational biotechnology giants into adopting GM varieties of cash crops — and they have done so based on deceitful claims that GM crops will improve yields and essentially save the world. Such claims are absolutely baseless, of course, and no legitimate studies have ever proven them to be true — but Indian, US, and other governments do not seem to care. According to the report authors, the Indian crisis could be mitigated if the government there would get more involved in agricultural issues. They claim the government has largely abandoned Indian farmers and thrown them to the globalist wolves, rather than defend and protect their interests.
