The father and stepmother of a 15-year-old Brampton girl were arrested and charged with second-degree murder Tuesday, Peel Police said.
Police responded to a call Saturday morning and found Tiffany Gayle, 15, dead in her home on Savita Road in Brampton. She died from blunt force injuries, police said.
“In this incident, we waited for the post-mortem results [before making the arrests]. It indicated to us that the cause was blunt force trauma,” said Constable George Tudos.
Fedrick Gayle, 42 and Tiffany’s father, and Elizabeth Gayle, 43 and her stepmother, both of Brampton, are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice tomorrow to be formally charged with second-degree murder.

A woman who drowned her four-year-old daughter in a bathtub six years ago told a Toronto court yesterday she hoped to have children in the future — then walked out a free woman.
“I still want to have a baby. I won’t kill another baby,” said Xuan Peng, 38, in between sobs after she pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
Peng was sentenced to five years in prison. Since she had already been in pre-trial custody for 30 months, Peng was given two-for-one credit for time served and was released yesterday afternoon.
She was originally convicted of second-degree murder in March 2008 and was sentenced to life in prison with no eligibility for parole for at least 10 years. The conviction was quashed and a new trial ordered last December, when it was revealed Superior Court Justice Mary Lou Benotto erred in her instructions to the jury.

A Toronto mother is custody and facing four charges, including manslaughter, in connection with the death of her two-year-old child.
Sabrina Siconolfi, 30, was arrested on Monday, three months after the lifeless body of her daughter was found in an apartment at 1757 Victoria Park Avenue near Lawrence Avenue East on July 9 at about 10:30 a.m.
Police say they responded to a call about a young girl who was not breathing, and when they arrived, found the toddler with “suspicious injuries to her body.” The child was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide officers attended, as is the standard in the case of the death of a child under five years of age. Police decided to lay charges after an autopsy, the results of which are not being made public. The autopsy included several forensic tests. Read More »
Stripper acquitted of killing baby, storing body in freezerShannon Kari October 4, 2010 – 3:08 pm
TORONTO—A 28-year-old Toronto woman has been acquitted of allowing her infant to die and then storing the body in a freezer, in an unusual case where the main prosecution witness was her former pimp who testified from beyond the grave.
Former exotic dancer Ivana Levkovic was on trial in Ontario Superior Court facing charges of not providing reasonable assistance to the delivery of a child and concealment of birth.
Justice Michael Dambrot found there was a reasonable doubt and acquitted Ms. Levkovic of both charges, in part because of inconsistencies in the evidence of Mark Hinds, her former pimp.
“While it is difficult to find a motive for Mr. Hinds to come forward and tell the police an untruthful story when they had no reason to believe a baby had been born at all, and while he appeared in the recording to be distraught and genuine, it is simply impossible for me to accept his version of the birth and the disposal of the baby as true beyond a reasonable doubt,” the judge said.
