Saudi and Qatari funded Free Syria Army and al-Qaeda terrorists are being trained to assassinate Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad and his military leaders, the Daily Star reports today.

The newspaper reports British SAS, SBS and troops from the Special Reconnaissance Regiment are inside Syria “helping show insurgents how to use new weapons and explosives” and “train rebel assassination squads to target President Assad and his warlords.”

The British Chief of the Defense Staff, General Sir David Richards, said contingency plans are being drafted, including “limited” intervention by British troops in “areas where assistance was being provided,” the Press Association reports.

Britain considers itself a “full-spectrum player” in the Middle East. It was at the forefront of the military intervention in Libya that resulted in the death of more than 30,000 people.

The Telegraph reported on Saturday that the United States has balked at prime minister David Cameron’s proposal to further assist the FSA and al-Qaeda following reports that the CIA and MI6 supported mercenaries are killing unarmed civilians. The FSA has admitted killing civilians and captured Syrian soldiers.

According to the CIA-engineered propaganda outfit, the Voice of America, U.S. intervention in Syria is more urgent now that “extremist Islamist elements” are taking a more active role in Syria.

“The balance of forces in the Syrian opposition is such, that as time goes by and the radical Islamists are the ones who always seem to have the money and always seem to have the weapons, they will become much more dominant in terms of that opposition. That does not serve American interests and it certainly doesn’t serve the interests of stability in the region,” Dennis Ross told VOA.

Ross is a member of both the CFR and the Trilateral Commission. He works with the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, an Israel-centric think tank closely related to the American Enterprise Institute and other neocon organizations.

In September, al-Qaeda and the FSA offered a reward of $25 million for the assassination of al-Assad. Turkey’s Anadolou news agency quoted FSA commander Ahmad Hijazi as saying the money would be paid by “supporters and businessmen” abroad.

Saudi Arabia and Qatar are spending tens of millions of dollars to support the effort to depose and kill al-Assad. Military aid is brokered through Turkey and “a secretive group operates something like a command center in Istanbul, directing the distribution of vital military supplies believed to be provided by Saudi Arabia and Qatar and transported with the help of Turkish intelligence to the Syrian border and then to the rebels.”

In October, Turkey attacked Syria with artillery after Syria targeted FSA and al-Qaeda mercenaries on the border.

As the U.S. economy worsens and public dissatisfaction with the status quo political parties grows to revolutionary levels, the bankster-hijacked U.S. military will be called upon to play a larger role on American soil. Building political legitimacy for military action in the defense of the status quo is a bipartisan project that has gone on for well over two decades, but it has intensified in the wake of the 2008 global financial crisis.

The counter-terrorism language that was introduced into the American psyche following the traumatic false flag/state terror events in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995, and in New York and Washington on September 11, 2001, is not targeted against foreign enemies such as Al-Qaeda but internal political opposition.

“A leaked U.S. Army document obtained by Wired Magazine,” writesPaul Joseph Watson, “characterizes people “frustrated with mainstream ideologies” as potential terrorists, while also framing those who “believe in government conspiracies” as violent radicals.” Ask yourself: Is this not insane? Imagine a Soviet citizen, yearning for freedom, being told in 1988 by out-of-touch Soviet political officers that he was just “frustrated with mainstream ideologies.” The civilized world would rightfully laugh at such political propaganda as nonsense.

But this is what is happening in America in 2012, and the mainstream media continues to remain silent about the lack of respect for the rights of American citizens. Paul Craig Roberts, the former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan Administration, says America is now a gestapo police state.

In the new totalitarian police state, the “terrorism” label is being used to delegitimize dissent against the corrupt U.S. government and justify the growing military presence in collapsing American cities.

For example, veterans who speak up for the rights of Americans anddemand government accountability are demonized as terrorists in the press, while real anti-American terrorists like Al-Qaeda and Salafist fighters in Syria are provided with an endless amount of weapons and money by the U.S. government and its client states in the Middle East. There is something wrong with this picture.

But no one should be surprised by the hypocrisy and brutality of the U.S. government. Over the last half century, a regime based on full-spectrum state terror has evolved in Washington. President Obama wasn’t the first U.S. statesman in modern U.S. political history to authorize the murder of an American citizen.

The CIA’s assassination policy was a reality long before the con artist Obama became President. The assassins of the tragic American hero John F. Kennedy and Afghanistan’s national hero Ahmad Shah Massoud worked for the same evil force: the shadow CIA.

The shadow CIA is a creature almost beyond control. And its existence is illegitimate. Why is it causing disorder on the Turkish, Syrian, and Jordanian borders? Why is it sending terrorists and thieves to invade Syria under the cover of night?

Instead of demanding that the international community protect the rights of Syrians and depose Assad, U.S. leaders should support human rights and political change in the United States. Sadly, though, President Obama, the state-run U.S. media, and the “humanitarian” foreign policy establishment do not recognize the rights of Americans. Do they consider Americans to be less human than Syrians? Is America less precious to them than Syria?

The massive level of disconnect between the scandalous political establishment in Washington and the American citizenry is unhealthy. It puts at jeopardy the preservation of the United States as a functioning, safe, free, and prosperous country.

It is amazing to me simply from an anthropological perspective that the real terrorists in Washington who are responsible for destroying America have the audacity to turn reality on its head and accuse their internal and external critics of being terrorists without providing any evidence.

They still haven’t brought any evidence to public light to prove the claim that Obama killed Bin Laden. As a matter of habit, they just expect the public to take the U.S. government at its word like sheep. The reality is that Bin Laden was not in the compound in Pakistan on May 1, 2011, and in fact died during the first term of the Bush administration.

Public skepticism about the official 9/11 and Bin Laden stories will continue to grow as more credible people and former high-level U.S. officials speak up regarding the U.S. government’s shameful record of lying to the American people about the purpose of the war on terror.

More pro-human rights whistleblowers within the U.S. government will come forward as the crisis of the political legitimacy of the United States government deepens. They understand what the stakes are and their dissent will be greeted with widespread approval.

The Cold War mentality among the political elite in the U.S. has to change. No one accepts the classification of dissent, debate, and dialogue as “domestic terrorism,” and it is not a mainstream position to suppress free speech and protests. There is a rising level of political awareness and knowledge in America, and this social and cultural change cannot be stopped in its tracks with repressive military action, threats, political intimidation, and state propaganda.

I just don’t see how the false flag fundamentalists and civil liberty destroyers who were behind Operation Gladio during the Cold War and the false flag 9/11 events can survive politically in the new global atmosphere of free thought and intelligent dissent. An informed global civil society and the awakening American people have had enough of the corruption, terrorism, brutality, hypocrisy, treachery, and criminality of the U.S. government.

Turkish army officers have assumed direct command of the first two Syrian rebel brigades fighting Bashar Assad’s government forces, according toDEBKAfile’s exclusive sources. This step has sent military tensions rocketing on Israel’s northern borders with Syria and Lebanon in case of a backlash.

The rebel North Liberators Brigade in the Idlib region of northern Syria and the Tawhid Brigade fighting in the Al-Bab area northeast of Aleppo are now taking their operational orders from Turkish officers, who exercise their authority from headquarters outside Syria in the southeastern Turkish city of Gaziantep. Nonetheless, Turkey is considered to have stepped directly into the Syrian conflict marking the onset of foreign intervention.

Western and Arab military circles in the Middle East expect Turkey to extend its command to additional rebel units – not all of them part of the Free Syrian Army.
This first step has already caused waves.

France’s recently elected socialist president and Bilderberg stooge François Hollande has told Syria’s CIA and MI6 run opposition to form a provisional government. Hollande said France would then officially recognize it as Syria’s legitimate government.

In February, the Director of National Intelligence, James R. Clapper, told the Senate Armed Services committee that al-Qaeda has “infiltrated” the Syrian opposition groups France boasts it will recognize.

“Strangely, the fact that Washington, in cooperation with its allies, is now sending communication gear, military intelligence, and weapons to militias in Syria with considerable – and growing – ties to al-Qaeda has not made the Obama administration blink,” John Glaser wrote in July.

Glaser mentioned a supposed “vetting process” that avoid arms ending up in the hands of al-Qaeda and Islamic extremists, “but the process is made up of untrustworthy, third-party sources and intelligence officials have recently told the Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times that the truth is that the US doesn’t know who is getting the money and weapons.”

In fact, there is plenty of evidence that the CIA trained, armed, funded – to the tune of $3 billion – and supported Osama bin Laden and what would ultimately become al-Qaeda.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton recently admitted that the United States created al-Qaeda, although her admission was at best lightly covered by the establishment media.

The U.S. also supported al-Qaeda in Libya prior to the murder of al-Gaddafi. Following the destruction of the north Africa country, Libya’s transitional ruling authority agreed to send weapons and fighters to Syria to assist the Free Syrian Army.

“Under Bush and Cheney, the alleged presence of al-Qaeda was used as a pretext for bombings and invasions,” historian Webster Tarpley wrote in 2011. “Under Obama, an overstretched and moribund US-UK imperialism is using al-Qaeda as its own irregular infantry in the effort to harass and cripple the nation-states of the world, causing them to disintegrate into a tribal, sectarian, criminal, and warlord chaos. In the current phase, al-Qaeda has resumed its original status as CIA guerrillas. As a result, civilization itself is threatened across vast areas of the globe.”

Broadcaster lies in claiming its reporter didn’t characterize forced suicide bomber incident as “war crime”

The BBC has dug itself a deeper hole in the aftermath of a censorship controversy which saw the broadcaster pull a video about Syrian rebels forcing a prisoner to become an unwitting suicide bomber, with the BBC claiming its reporter never characterized the incident as a “war crime” when in fact the opposite is true.

As we highlighted yesterday, a video clip showing a prisoner being made by Syrian rebels to drive a truck full of explosives to a military checkpoint in Aleppo was pulled from both the BBC website and the official BBC channel on You Tube hours after it was published. Bloggers were able to capture and upload a copy of the video which can be viewed below.

BBC World News editor John Williams responded to the controversy in a blog post on the BBC News website by noting that “the story has generated much interest across the Arab World and beyond.”

Though Williams fails to address why the BBC has sent the story down the memory hole, he does attempt to explain away the fact that the events depicted in the footage clearly represent a war crime, noting that the attempted murder of a captive has been defined as such by Amnesty International.

“Some pro-government news agencies in Syria have suggested the BBC and the New York Times have termed the act as a “war crime”. This is not true,” claims Williams.

And yet it is true.

At the 2 minute 13 mark in the clip embedded above, BBC reporter Gordon Corera clearly states, “Using prisoners as suicide bombers would certainly be considered a war crime.”

So in fact yes, the BBC did term the act as a “war crime” and John Williams is being brazenly dishonest.

Why is the BBC lying in claiming they didn’t characterize the act as a war crime? Perhaps it’s because their removal of the story constitutes covering up for a war crime. Maybe it made the lawyers and senior editors nervous.

Recall that this is not the first time the BBC has been caught manipulating reporting of events in Syria to push a pro-NATO regime change agenda. Back in May we exposed how the BBC has used a years-old photo of dead Iraqi children to depict victims of an alleged government assault in the town of Houla.

The photographer who took the original picture, Marco Di Lauro, posted on his Facebook page, “Somebody is using my images as a propaganda against the Syrian government to prove the massacre.” Di Lauro told the London Telegraph he was “astonished” the BBC had failed to check the authenticity of the image.

The BBC’s excuse for removing the shocking story about how western-backed Syrian rebels are using unwilling prisoners to carry out terrorist attacks is shaky to say the least.

“Under the terms of the agreement with the New York Times we only had the rights to use the material on broadcast outlets. However the material was used online in error. As soon as we realised the error we immediately took steps to remove the online material,” responded the BBC.

So we’re being asked to believe that the world’s largest news organization doesn’t have a procedure in place where it checks with other major news organizations before using their material.

Even if we are to accept this dubious explanation, the fact that the BBC is now openly lying to its audience in claiming its reporter never characterized the incident as a “war crime” when the opposite is true emphasizes once again how the NATO-aligned media is desperate to uphold the image of Syrian opposition forces as glorious freedom fighters when in fact they are being led by Al-Qaeda terrorists while metering out acts of brutality on a par with anything Assad’s forces have been accused of.

Broadcaster attempts to hide clear evidence of war crimes

The BBC has sensationally censored a news story and a video showing Syrian rebels forcing a prisoner to become a suicide bomber, a war crime under the Geneva Conventions, presumably because it reflected badly on establishment media efforts to portray the FSA as glorious freedom fighters.

The video, a copy of which can be viewed above (the original BBC version was deleted), shows Free Syrian Army rebels preparing a bomb that is loaded onto the back of a truck to be detonated at a government checkpoint in the city of Aleppo.

The clip explains how the rebels have commandeered an apartment belonging to a Syrian police captain. The rebels are seen sneering at photos of the police captain’s family while they proclaim, “Look at their freedom, look how good it is,” while hypocritically enjoying the luxury of the man’s swimming pool.

The video then shows a prisoner who the rebels claim belonged to a pro-government militia. Bruises from torture on the prisoner’s body are explained away as having been metered out by the man’s previous captors. The BBC commentary emphasizes how well the rebels are treating the man, showing them handing him a cigarette.

However, the man has been tricked into thinking he is part of a prisoner exchange program when in reality he is being set up as an unwitting suicide bomber. The prisoner is blindfolded and told to drive the truck towards a government checkpoint.

“What he doesn’t know is that the truck is the one that’s been rigged with a 300 kilo bomb,” states the narrator.

The clip then shows rebels returning disappointed after it’s revealed that the remote detonator failed and the bomb did not explode.

The BBC narrator admits that forcing prisoners to become suicide bombers “would certainly be considered a war crime.”

New York Times reporters who shot the video claim they had no knowledge of the plot. A longer version of the clip is posted on the New York Times You Tube channel. The title of the clip glorifies the rebel fighters as “The Lions of Tawhid”.

Within hours of the story being published, it was subsequently sent down the memory by the BBC. Attempts to reach the original article URL are greeted with a 404 Not Found page.

In addition, a You Tube version of the same video originally posted on the official BBC News 2012 channel was also removed. Although the You Tube page for the video states that it was removed after a “copyright claim by British Broadcasting Corporation” this is a bogus reason, because the video was not uploaded by a third party, it was posted on the official BBC channel, as the screenshot below proves.

It seems clear that the only reason for the video to be removed would be because senior BBC news editors felt the story reflected badly on the propaganda campaign to characterize the Syrian rebels as venerable and proud freedom fighters, when in reality as we have documented they have been guilty of massacres, kidnappings, torture and other acts of brutality.

This represents a clear effort to hide evidence of Syrian rebels, who the Obama administration recently pledged to support with taxpayer dollars, engaged in war crimes.

In addition, the fact that the rebels, under the direction of Al-Qaeda fighters, are building bombs and carrying out terrorist attacks is something the NATO-aligned media is keen not to emphasize.

This is by no means the first time the BBC has been caught manipulating the news in an effort to propagandize for western military involvement in Syria.

CIA spies have smuggled up to 14 Stinger missiles into Syria so rebels can defend themselves from air strikes.

The ground-to-air weapons have been delivered across the Turkish border to the Free Syrian Army and were partly paid for by Saudi Arabia, a security source claimed.

President Bashar al-Assad’s MIG-23 warplanes and helicopter gunships have killed more than 1,000 people.

The source said: “The West and the rest of the Middle East is not going to be able to secure a no-fly zone above Syria any time soon so the only way to stop the carnage is to take on Assad’s air force from the ground.

US-led NATO forces armed, funded, trained, and even provided air support for Libyan terrorists emanating out of Libya’s eastern Cyrenaica region – most notably Benghazi which had served as the premier international terrorist recruiting ground in the world, according to the US Army’s Combating Terrorism Center, producing a percentage per capita of militants outstripping even that of Saudi Arabia.

Operating under the banner of the “Libyan Islamic Fighting Group” (LIFG), a US State Department,British Home Office, and United Nations-listed international terrorist organization, and officially merged with Al Qaeda in 2007, its commanders including Abdul Hakim Belhaj and Mahdi al-Harati led NATO’s military proxy forces on the ground as US, French, and British planes destroyed the nation from the air.

These very same commanders of this very same listed-terrorist organization would then turn its cash, weapons, and fighters on Syria, as early as November 2011, arriving on the Turkish-Syrian border to enjoy yet another NATO safe haven and logistical networks overseen by Western intelligence along with US funding and arms laundered through Gulf Cooperative Council (GCC) members such as Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

In essence, just as Al Qaeda had served as an “Arab Foreign Legion” for the US in Afghanistan in the 1980′s during its inception, it once again is serving as a foreign legion inside Syria, fighting Washington’s proxy war against the Syrian government.

It appears however that unlike in Afghanistan where Al Qaeda fought alongside a sizable indigenous force against foreign Soviet troops, the tactical environment is revered – where Washington’s proxy terrorist forces are foreigners facing a highly motivated, well organized, and better armed indigenous Syrian Army.

US Machinations Unraveling - Shareholders Face Liquidation

Coordinated attempts by NATO and its proxy forces to invade and overrun the cities of Damascus and Aleppo in July and early August have failed, with proxy forces being expelled after suffering sizable loses. An attempt to decapitate Syria’s leadership in a bombing in central Damascus also fell flat, with high ranking officials quickly replaced, followed quickly by a cohesive military counter offensive.

The bombing was also followed by the mysterious disappearance of Saudi Arabia’s Bandar “Bush” Bin Sultan, who if confirmed assassinated, may indicate that NATO’s plans are suffering at even the highest levels of organization.

Compounding the West’s attempts to overthrow the government of Syria, is the increasing support Syria has been receiving due to Iranian efforts to assemble international forums representing half of the world’s population, condemning the support of foreign interference and promoting alternatives to the violent destabilization being carried out by the West. A 30 member conference was held ahead of the annual Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) meeting in Tehran, Iran – and another meeting will be held again on the sidelines of NAM toward the end of August.

With the tactical situation inside Syria deteriorating for Western proxies and international consensus shifting in unprecedented directions against Washington and London, shareholders in the West’s latest adventure appear to be making tacit moves to divest their support and protect their own interests, lest they be left with the ignominious results of an increasingly compounding failure.

Obama’s Recent Threats

With this in mind, the US has been making increasingly unhinged “Bush-esque” remarks regarding “weapons of mass destruction” in Syria and attempting to expand the pretexts under which it could “militarily intervene.” Even the very “movement” of Syria’s “unconventional weapons” in a “threatening manner,” US President Barack Obama claimed in a recent statement, would constitute a “red line.”

Obama claims that the US “fears” Syria’s unconventional weapons ”falling into the hands of the wrong people.” If the US is willfully arming, funding, and threatening to back militarily, listed Al Qaeda terrorist organizations, then whose hands is the US referring to? And while the US struggles to foment victory in Syria, it seems to have stretched its support for terrorism all the way to Russia’s Caucasus Mountains, reigniting violence there, linked to Al Qaeda as well.

Image: The Washington Consensus’ shrinking legitimacy is proportionally matched to its increasingly untenable perpetuation. Its unjustified, disastrous military adventure in Libya seems to have resulted in a Pyrrhic victory, hobbling the institutions and legitimacy it needed to likewise undermine and overthrow the Syrian government in a timely fashion. Overstretched, it appears the West is even trying to strike at Russia with terrorist proxies that now span from North Africa all the way to the Caucasus Mountains.

To say that the US is overstretched is an understatement. It is overstretched politically, economically, and tactically. It risks a historically unprecedented collapse that would destroy all shareholders invested in its increasingly unhinged and transparently illegitimate ambitions. Nations, in particular GCC members, are beginning to realize with acute alarm that their support of Washington’s agenda is now threatening their very self-preservation. A victory even at this point would still likely be Pyrrhic.

No matter how well Syria goes for the West from this point on, the mechanisms it has used to get here, including its “Responsibility to Protect” doctrine, the legitimacy of the UN, the West’s so-called commitment to “human rights,” and the narrative of the so-called “War on Terror” have been undermined beyond salvage.

One can only imagine the mountains Washington is promising to move in order to keep its allies lined up behind them, particularly the ruling governments of Turkey and the GCC. For an elitist clique that has prided itself in “realist” political discourse, it has become increasingly surrealist. Whether or not Washington’s allies mirror this surrealism all the way to their own demise, remains to be seen.

Aleppo: British and German spies are involved in covert operations to help Syrian rebels in their increasingly bloody fight to topple the regime of President Bashar Al Assad, press reports said on Sunday.

The reports said German and British spies were passing on information about Syrian troop movements to the rebels.

President Barack Obama has signed a secret order authorizing U.S. support for rebels seeking to depose Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his government, U.S. sources familiar with the matter said.

Obama’s order, approved earlier this year and known as an intelligence “finding,” broadly permits the CIA and other U.S. agencies to provide support that could help the rebels oust Assad.

This and other developments signal a shift toward growing, albeit still circumscribed, support for Assad’s armed opponents – a shift that intensified following last month’s failure of the U.N. Security Council to agree on tougher sanctions against the Damascus government.

Nawaf Fares, former Syrian Ambassador to Iraq who just recently defected and is now harbored in Qatar, admitted in an interview with the London Telegraph that he personally organized “Jihadi units” to fight US troops in Iraq. Fares maintains that he did so under orders by the Syrian government, and that a recent string of bombings in Syria were carried out by “Al Qaeda” in coordination with Syrian security forces.

Undoubtedly these units he claims he created also killed British troops, as well as Iraqi fighters and civilians. His “hero” status is indicative of the dysfunction and morally depraved state of Western foreign policy.

Unfortunately for Nawaf Fares, who has just admitted to being an international terrorist, not only does he fail to provide any actual evidence to suggest the Syrian government had ordered or condoned his terrorist activities during the US occupation of Iraq (as even the Telegraph notes), nor provide any evidence at all that “Al Qaeda” had coordinated its bombing campaigns with Syrian security forces, but a myriad of confirmed reports and evidence already exist contradicting entirely Fares’ statements.

That President Bashar al-Assad is a “collaborator” with Al Qaeda is farcical at face value. The following headlines help illustrate the absurdity of Fares’ claims: “Al Qaeda head calls for fall of Assad” (AP), “Top US official: Al Qaeda in Iraq joining fight against Syria’s Assad” (McClatchy), “Al Qaeda’s Zawahiri calls for war to oust Syria’s Assad” (AP), just to name a few. Additionally it was reported by Seymour Hersh in a 2007 New Yorker article titled, “The Redirection,” that not only was Al Qaeda being arrayed against the Syrian government since as early as 2007, but it was in fact the United States, Israel, and the Gulf States that were organizing, funding, and arming them.

Casting further doubt on Fares’ claims, particularly regarding allegations that the Syrian government was behind bombings sweeping the country, Reuters in April 2012, ran an entire article covering the so-called Free Syrian Army (FSA) and their ”tactical switch” to terrorist bombings in the face of superior military weapons and tactics employed by government security forces. Titled, “Outgunned Syria rebels make shift to bombs,” it states that Syrian extremists who had honed their skills fighting US and British troops in Iraq, had joined the ranks of the FSA militants to employ their bomb-making abilities against, not in collaboration with, the Syrian government.

The Reuters article specifically states:

“Some of these bombing skills may have been brought back from fighters who joined the Sunni insurgency in neighboring Iraq against the U.S. occupation forces. The presence of hardliners from a Syrian Sunni majority that feels oppressed by Assad and his fellow Alawites who dominate the administration has been among causes for concern among those who fear a sectarian civil war similar to that which devastated Iraq over the past decade.”

While even the Reuters article attempts to allay the fears of readers, suggesting that the anti-government militants would never attack civilian targets, reports from both Human Rights Watch (HRW) and the UN have documented cases where militants have committed sweeping atrocities specifically targeting civilians, including kidnapping for ransom, torture, and murder.

The HRW report titled, “Syria: Armed Opposition Groups Committing Abuses,” is broken into three parts, kidnapping, torture, and executions. And while the report attempts to focus mainly on atrocities carried out against security forces and government supporters, the mention of civilian victims is made as well.

In the face of such evidence, Reuters and Fares’ assurances that FSA terrorists are limiting their attacks only to military targets is wishful thinking at best, insulting deceit at worst, and illustrate a pattern of serial deceit used to manipulate the public’s perception to see in a positive light what is in reality a terrorist campaign.

Nawaf Fares – Indicative of the Fraud and Depravity of the Syrian “Opposition”

Fares, a self-confessed terrorist who admits he organized death squads to fight and kill Americans and undoubtedly civilians in neighboring Iraq, has leveled a series of accusations with no evidence, to provide the maximum amount of demonization possible against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

He has left a “regime” he finds unbearable, which he claims without evidence was carrying out a terrorist bombing campaign against its own people, and who supported “Jihadi units” to fight its regional neighbors – to then join a militant organization that has demonstratively and admittedly carried out bombing campaigns against the Syrian people, consists of extremist mercenaries from abroad sent to destabilize and destroy his nation, and guilty, by HRW and the UN’s own admissions, of the same atrocities and horrors Fares has claimed he defected from the government over.

Nawaf Fares comes across as a exaggerating opportunist, so overly eager to play his role, that he has tripped over himself and found both feet lodged firmly in his mouth. While the London Telegraph seems not to have a problem sitting down and talking with a man who admits he organized death squads that killed US and British troops, perhaps because of the complicit role Telegraph’s propaganda played in sending those troops into harm’s way to begin with, it will be more difficult for the US and British governments to similarly ignore his hamhanded admissions, if only to maintain a semblance of consistency. Qatar also finds itself in a quandary harboring a self-confessed terrorist.

If the US and British governments refuse to acknowledge or act upon this, perhaps the armed forces will – finally taking insult to having shed blood and lives for over a decade fighting the “War on Terror” only to see their perceived enemies given five-star lodging in Qatar and airtime on the evening news.

And finally, it is the people of all nations who must recognize, expose, boycott, and replace the corporate-financier interests driving this destructive increasingly unhinged agenda who – interests that are ultimately responsible for the creation, cultivation, and harboring of individuals like Nawf Fares.

Citing no evidence, and on the heels of yet another baseless “activist” report claiming a massacre has taken place in Homs, nameless US officials claimed to the Wall Street Journal that the Syrian government is taking chemical weapons out of storage for possible use “against anti-regime rebels or civilians, possibly in an ethnic cleansing campaign.”

Despite claiming to possess this information, the US officials refused to disclose the location these weapons were being moved to, nor the actual nomenclature of the weapons, stating only “they are most worried about Syria’s stockpiles of sarin gas.”

The West is the undisputed champion of deploying each of these weapons of mass destruction against their enemies – from nuclear bombs upon Japan, to depleted uranium and white phosphorus upon Iraq, to Agent Orange all across Vietnam – it stands to reason that these weapons would eventually end up in the hands of the their proxies as well.

In mid-June, Russia Today had warned of a possible false-flag attack by NATO-backed militants operating under the cover of the so-called “Free Syrian Army” employing chemical weapons pilfered from devastated, militant-overrun Libya. The aim of the operation would be to create a justifiable impetus for overt Western military intervention, citing the use of chemical weapons against civilian populations as the most extreme attempt yet to manufacture otherwise nonexistent consensus for a repeat of NATO’s operations in Libya.

In, “WARNING: Possible NATO-FSA False Flag Attack in Syria,” it was explained how NATO’s militant proxies possessed not only the means and capabilities of carrying out such an attack, but the motivation and precedents of doing so – with the FSA already admittedly carrying out a deadly, nationwide terrorist bombing campaign killing scores of civilians per attack. The dissemination of Libyan weapons into the hands of militants operating in Syria has also been confirmed by governments and international media on numerous occasions, as has the fact that Libyan militants themselves (and here) have joined NATO’s covert operations to overthrow the government of President Bashar al-Assad in Syria.

The Syrian government has withstood over a year of withering, brutal attacks, economically, politically, diplomatically, throughout the Western controlled corporate media, and militarily by the West. One might then be troubled to fathom why the government would then use chemical weapons sure to provide the impetus needed to leap over the obstructions placed in the West’s way throughout the UN Security Council by Russia and China. The answer is simple, the Syrian government is not pondering the use of chemical weapons, NATO and its terrorist proxies are.

This, along with a recent roll-out of preplanned, over-hyped “defections” seeks to psychologically stampede the Syrian government from power, and if necessary, create a pretext to do so militarily.

NATO-backed “pro-democracy” activists commit brutal atrocities

Despite the fact that parties on both sides of the conflict in Syria have been responsible for violence, the international NATO-aligned media has hyped often dubious accusations of Assad-sponsored massacres while virtually ignoring massacres, beheadings and other acts of brutality carried out by rebel insurgents.

Whereas the establishment media, particularly the likes of CNN and the London Guardian, have prostrated themselves as 24-hour rolling propaganda platforms for anonymous “activists” with Twitter accounts, showcasing unverified You Tube clips of alleged atrocities, equally disturbing footage of rebels committing acts of savagery have been buried.

In addition, it has come to light that many of the alleged “massacre” videos and other clips showing Syrians allegedly killed or injured by Assad’s forces that were broadcast globally by the mainstream media have been staged.

It’s time for some balance.

No one can deny that Bashar Al-Assad’s regime has been responsible for violence. But in failing to equally acknowledge the fact that NATO-backed rebels have also carried out innumerable atrocities is not only dishonest, it represents a deliberate effort by the press to manipulate the narrative of unfolding events in Syria as a one-sided war crime rather than the truth – which is the fact that Syria is in a state of civil war.

In throwing their military might behind Syrian rebels, in addition to foreign terrorists affiliated with Al-Qaeda, NATO powers are empowering a minority of extremist Wahabi thugs who are anti-freedom, anti-Christian, anti-Shia, anti-Sunni and who will stop at nothing to entrench their ideologically fanatical power base.

In greasing the skids for a Libya-style NATO military assault, the media has portrayed the rebels as freedom-loving democratic activists who are honorable victims of bloodshed. In reality, as the videos below illustrate, nothing could be further from the truth.

In this video, family members of slain children accuse Syrian rebels of committing the atrocity.



A civilian is hung from a tree by Syrian rebels, allegedly because he told UN monitors information the rebels didn’t want to be known.

 

A mentally ill man is beaten, hanged and then shot in the head by Syrian rebels who chant “Allahu Akbar.”



This woman’s son, Sari Saoud, was shot in Homs. While Al-Jazeera claimed it was the army that killed him, the woman insisted it was the insurgents.



Pro-Assad activists who organized rallies in support of the government were kidnapped, tortured and killed by Syrian rebels.



In this video, bodies of soldiers killed by rebels are dumped into the Orontes River. The men chant “Allahu Akbar.” CNN whitewashed the story and claimed the jury was still out on the perpetrators, but the victim is clearly a pro-government activist judging by a translation of what is said in the clip.



This disturbing clip shows rebels insulting an an Alawite Syrian civilian before decapitating him



This clip shows a civilian accused of being a “traitor” beaten and tortured, with later images on Facebook showing his severed head.



This clip shows Syrian rebels laughing at the mutilated bodies of Syrian soldiers.



This shocking clip shows Syrian rebels mutilating the body of a dead man before chanting anti-government slogans.



In the clip above, Syrian rebels threaten the parents of a child that they will kill him unless ransom money is paid.



This clip shows rebels dragging the body of a soldier through the town of Yabrud near Damascus



This clip shows the assassination of a policeman named Raed Aashour.



In this clip, Syrian opposition activists chant anti-Christian slogans. This is important given our previous report about how Syrian rebels ransacked Christian churches and desecrated places of worship.

As part of its agenda to craft the phony narrative that opposition fighters are honorable freedom fighters who can do no wrong, the international media has all but blacklisted examples of rebel atrocities, while simultaneously hyping beyond all recognition far more dubious footage of alleged government massacres released by anonymous Twitter activists.

The clips below illustrate how Syrian “opposition activists” and rebels are staging fake massacre and death videos, as well as war propaganda – and how the corporate press is swallowing it up and regurgitating it without question.

Following the humiliating exposé of Syrian “activist” Danny Dayem, who was caught staging war propaganda as he begged for the United States and even Israel to launch a military intervention, one would hope that such manufactured trickery is less likely to be broadcast by the news media in future.



A video purported to show “Syrian troops beating detained protesters” was broadcast on global news networks including ABC News and Reuters. It later turned out that the clip actually showed Hezbollah members mistreating Lebanese Amal political party members in an incident that happened four years ago.



This video shows Syrian opposition activists staging fake deaths complete with fake blood and bad acting. The clip was later broadcast by Al Jazeera and presented as a genuine massacre.

This clip shows a man pretending to lie dead in an open coffin. He stages a miraculous recovery at the end of the video.



This man is presented as a dead “martyr” yet is clearly seen to be blinking throughout the video.



This clip shows a Syrian insurgent displaying his psychic abilities at pinpointing where a “bomb” will strike before it happens as he rants to the camera.

Rebels coach a girl on what to tell Al-Jazeera before congratulating themselves on the set-up.

As we have previously documented, there are also numerous video clips and photographs proving how the rebels are loyal to Al-Qaeda.

These video clips only scratch the surface when it comes to documenting the fact that Syrian rebels and their insurgent allies from abroad are about as far removed from their corporate media-generated persona as one could possibly imagine.

Far from representing the noble, religiously and culturally inclusive ideal of democratic freedom, by their very own actions and statements the rebels represent little more than a gang of bloodthirsty, extremist, mercenary thugs which western powers and mainstream media outlets – if their claim to support freedom in the middle east is to have any credibility – have no business in supporting.

During a military parade rehearsal this week, more than 90 people were killed after a bomber wearing an army uniform self-exploded amidst a group of soldiers at al-Sabin Square.

The terrorist group al-Qaeda claimed the bombing, saying that one of their members carried out the attack.

Along with the estimated 90 killed, defense ministry officials said 222 people were injured in the attack.

The al-Qaeda plant was present moments before Defense Minister Nasser Ahmed and the army’s chief-of-staff were scheduled to greet the troops.

The majority of the dead were stationed from the Central Security Organization.

Yemen has been the stage for al-Qaeda’s attacks against the president Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, who recently took office. Hadi has declared war against al-Qaeda, saying it is a “religious duty’ of the state to do so.

US intelligence and military support have been covertly deployed to Yemen.

The Obama administration’s terrorism advisor, John Brennan called the attack “cowardly”.

While the violence in Yemen escalates, President Obama took the time to release a new executive order (EO) called Blocking Property of Persons Threatening the Peace, Security, or Stability of Yemen .

In this EO, Obama claims the right to confiscate “all property and interests in property that are in the United States, that hereafter come within the United States, or that are or hereafter come within the possession or control of any United States person, including any foreign branch, of the following persons are blocked and may not be transferred, paid, exported, withdrawn, or otherwise dealt in: any person determined by the Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of State.”

If any person, including US citizens, is accused of assisting a terrorist group of threatening “Yemen’s peace, security, and stability” they will find their possessions and bank accounts confiscated by the US government; as well as being arrested and detained by federal agencies.

Last month, Obama announced that the ‘ war on terror ” is over, claiming that we are in a “post al-Qaeda era”.

Obama admitted that his new foreign policy would allow that “we have killed most of al-Qaeda, now that people have come to see legitimate means of expression, people who once might have gone into al-Qaeda see an opportunity for a legitimate Islamism.”

However, as Hillary Clinton pointed out al-Qaeda was a CIA creation trained by the US government and released into strategic countries for the purpose of destabilizing their governments therefore making the task of usurping control easier for the US government.

According to investigative reporter Seymour Hersch, the Bush administration, in conjunction with Saudi Arabia, was covertly funding radical Suni groups with ties to al-Qaeda to counter Shiite groups backed by Iran. In a game of fake terrorist group planted into a country to agitate the governments in place this method appears to be common.

Along with the al-Qaeda invention, Osama bin Laden was trained by the CIA and worked for them as an operative. In 2008, Milt Bearden told Dan Rather that the “myth of Osama bin Laden” was created by the US government. At first bin Laden was a great warrior when he worked with the CIA against the Russians in Afghanistan, then he became the go-to Boogeyman leader of an “extremist terrorist group called al-Qaeda”.

Further evidence that the US government not only created al-Qaeda, but use them for controlled terrorism in foreign countries comes from Richard Clark in his most recent book.

Clark contends that al-Qaeda was created for Saudi Arabia to bankroll Osama bin Laden, through the House of Saud, “in the Afghan war against the Soviet Union during the 1980′s and Riyadh and Washington together contributed an estimated $3.5 billion to the mujahideen.”

The terrorism Yemen is experiencing is obviously controlled by the US government and the Obama administration.

Within the US boarders, Obama has declared “any United States citizen, permanent resident alien, entity organized under the laws of the United States or any jurisdiction within the United States (including foreign branches), or any person in the United States” that is suspected of aiding terrorist groups (that the US government has planted in Yemen) will be “obstructing the political process in Yemen”.

The situation in Yemen that has been created by CIA funded al-Qaeda is being used to declare Yemen “an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy” and the president has “declared a national emergency to deal with that threat”.

By funding the terrorism, the US government, under Obama’s direction is endeavoring to not only destabilize the Yemeni government, but also place American citizens under the threat of being accused of terrorist activities.

We are right back to where we were when the Bush administration used the false flag threat of al-Qaeda terrorism to not only terrify the American public, but justify the arrest and detainment of US citizens.

In light of a newly uncovered U.S. Army document that outlines plans for prisoners, including U.S. citizens, to be re-educated in detention camps, it’s worth reminding ourselves of the fact that Barack Obama’s political mentor, Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers, once called for precisely the same thing.

According to former FBI agent Larry Grathwohl, who was assigned to infiltrate the Weather Underground’s Central Committee, the organization run by Bill Ayers carried out bombings targeting the Pentagon, the State Department, as well as police stations and federal buildings, in an attempt to cause the collapse of the United States government and open the door for Cuban, North Vietnamese, Chinese and Russian troops to occupy the country.

Grathwohl stated that Ayers and his group planned to deal with Americans who would try to resist this takeover by “establishing re-education centers in the south-west”. Asked what he would do with those who still refused to convert to communism, Ayers said that they would have to be “eliminated,” as in 25 million Americans would be killed in concentration camps.

Grathwohl said the Weathermen told him the camps would be used to “re-educate people into the new way of thinking.”

This provides yet more historical context to underscore the point that using detention centers to “re-educate” prisoners into a new way of political thinking is the hallmark of a tyrannical regime.

The U.S. Army document that we highlighted yesterday targets “political activists” for “indoctrination programs” once they are incarcerated inside the prison camps. The document is a how-to manual on treatment of detainees, including “civilian internees” interned for “security reasons, for protection, or because he or she committed an offense against the detaining power.”

The document makes it clear in numerous instances that the re-education program, designed to “remove antagonistic attitudes” and enforce “understanding and appreciation of U.S. policies and actions,” is not just limited to prisoners in foreign countries like Afghanistan and Iraq.

The rules also apply “within U.S. territory” as part of “civil support operations” in conjunction with FEMA and Homeland Security in the aftermath of “man-made disasters, accidents, terrorist attacks and incidents in the U.S. and its territories.” So long as the President passes an executive order bypassing Posse Comitatus, the manual says the indoctrination program “may be performed as domestic civil support operations.”

The fact that Bill Ayers and the Weather Underground also planned for re-education camps to be used to incarcerate American citizens is alarming given President Barack Obama’s relationship with Ayers, who helped launch Obama’s political career.

“In 1995, State Senator Alice Palmer introduced her chosen successor, Barack Obama, to a few of the district’s influential liberals at the home of two well known figures on the local left: William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn,” reported Politico’s Ben Smith.

Maria Warren, an Obama-supporting liberal who attended the Chicago meeting, also confirmed Ayers’ presence and his role in launching Obama’s political dynasty.

“When I first met Barack Obama, he was giving a standard, innocuous little talk in the living room of those two legends-in-their-own-minds, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. They were launching him–introducing him to the Hyde Park community as the best thing since sliced bread,” wrote Warren.

According to retired Illinois postman Allen Hulton, Ayers’ parents also bragged about how they paid to put a “foreign student,” almost certainly Obama, through school.

The connection between Ayers’ advocacy for re-education camps, his relationship with Barack Obama, and an Army document which clearly states that such “indoctrination programs” can be used against Americans so long as the President passes an executive order, represents a chilling triumvirate.

A shocking U.S. Army manual that describes how political activists in prison camps will be indoctrinated by specially assigned psychological operations officers contains numerous clear references to the fact that the policies do apply domestically to U.S. citizens.

Despite the fact that the manual is well over 300 pages long and would take hours to read properly, within minutes of posting our story yesterday a minority of commenters were claiming that the policies outlined in the document only pertained to foreign combat operations and did not apply domestically to U.S. citizens.

This is similar to the denial witnessed prior to the passage of the NDAA when some argued that the indefinite detention provisions did not apply to American citizens despite numerous legal analysts asserting they did and President Barack Obama himself acknowledging they did when he signed the bill.

The most alarming portion of the document appears on page 56 and makes it clear that detention camps will have PSYOP teams whose responsibility will be to use “indoctrination programs to reduce or remove antagonistic attitudes,” as well as targeting “political activists” with such indoctrination programs to provide “understanding and appreciation of U.S. policies and actions.”

Let’s make one thing clear – the manual primarily deals with enemy combatants captured and detained in foreign prison camps run by the U.S. Military. However, another thing that is just as clear from reading the manual in full is the fact that it also applies to citizens detained within the United States, whether they be DCs (displaced citizens) or “civilian internees,” in other words citizens who are detained for, “security reasons, for protection, or because he or she committed an offense against the detaining power.”

Firstly, throughout the manual there are scores of references to how the U.S. Army would work together with the DHS, ICE and FEMA (page 24) to implement the policies “within U.S. territory” as part of “civil support operations” in the aftermath of “man-made disasters, accidents, terrorist attacks and incidents in the U.S. and its territories.” (page 38).

“The handling of DCs (displaced citizens) is also a mission that may be performed in support of disaster relief or other emergencies within the United States or U.S. territories during civil support operations,” states page 33. Page 56 also states that it is the responsibility of the PSYOP officer to “control detainee and DC populations during emergencies.”

“Resettlement conducted as a part of civil support operations will always be conducted in support of another lead agency (Federal Emergency Management Agency, Department of Homeland Security)” states page 37.

All these passages make it clear that the policies outlined on page 56 are also applicable within U.S. territory as part of “civil support operations” conducted in partnership with domestic federal agencies like the DHS and ICE. The U.S. Immigration authorities have no role in detaining prisoners in Afghanistan and Iraq and neither do other U.S. agencies also listed in the document such as the Public Health Service (page 224).

The document also contains numerous references to U.S. citizens (notably pages 13, 41). Page 13 notes how “U.S. citizens will be confined separately from detainees,” meaning they will be separated from foreign prisoners in the camps

On page 146 of the manual, we learn how prisoners in the camps are to be identified.

“The prisoner’s last name, first name, and middle initial are placed on the first line of a name board, and the prisoner’s social security number is placed on the second line.”

Last time I checked, the United States Social Security Administration was not responsible for handing out social security numbers to people in Afghanistan or Iraq.

On page 193 of the document, we learn that the policies outlined in the manual can be applied domestically. The language makes it clear that so long as the President passes an executive order to nullify Posse Comitatus, the law that forbids the military from engaging in domestic law enforcement, the policies “may be performed as domestic civil support operations.”

The manual states, “These operations may be performed as domestic civil support operations,” and adds that “The authority to approve resettlement such operations within U.S. territories,” would require a “special exception” to The Posse Comitatus Act, which can be obtained via “the President invoking his executive authority.”

These examples are just a handful of a plethora contained in the 326 page ‘Internment and Resettlement’ document which prove that the policies in the manual apply not only to foreign prisoners abroad, but also to American citizens within the United States.

On top of this, we have the 2009 story about how the National Guard posted a number of job listings looking for “Internment/Resettlement Specialists” to work in “civilian internee camps” within the United States.

The time for denial is over. People spent weeks arguing over the ‘indefinite detention’ provisions of the National Defense Authorization Act, ignoring assertions by top scholars and legal experts that the kidnapping provisions did apply to U.S. citizens.

It appears as though cognitive dissonance is causing some people to desperately search for any way of denying the shocking truth contained in these Army documents. This is particularly prevalent amongst Democrats and liberals, whose support for the cult of Barack Obama has blinded them to the fact that his administration is passing legislation which in many cases is far more draconian than anything Bush signed into law.

Take this comment for example from the Democratic Underground forum. Linking to our article from yesterday, a user writes, “A friend of mine just posted (as he usually does) a ridiculous article from InfoWars and it’s pissing me off to no end. I’m trying to find stuff to continuously disprove this drivel, and I’m probably wasting my time. Anyone able to help on this particular “story”?”

The individual does not even have the inclination to look at the source document to find out if the story is true, they would rather just throw out ad hominem insults like “ridiculous” and “drivel”. Rather than being “pissed off” at the frightening language contained in the U.S. Army manual, the individual is “pissed off” at Infowars for reporting on it.

Yes, the U.S. Army has really written a manual which details re-education camps. Yes, the manual does apply to U.S. citizens domestically. Denying these manifestly provable facts will not make the threat go away. This is not an imaginary monster under the bed.

A leaked U.S. Army document prepared for the Department of Defense contains shocking plans for “political activists” to be pacified by “PSYOP officers” into developing an “appreciation of U.S. policies” while detained in prison camps inside the United States.

The document, entitled FM 3-39.40 Internment and Resettlement Operations (PDF) was originally released on a restricted basis to the DoD in February 2010, but has now been leaked online.

The manual outlines policies for processing detainees into internment camps both globally and inside the United States. International agencies like the UN and the Red Cross are named as partners in addition to domestic federal agencies including the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA.

The document makes it clear that the policies apply “within U.S. territory” and involve, “DOD support to U.S. civil authorities for domestic emergencies, and for designated law enforcement and other activities,” including “man-made disasters, accidents, terrorist attacks and incidents in the U.S. and its territories.”

Aside from enemy combatants and other classifications of detainees, the manual includes the designation of “civilian internees,” in other words citizens who are detained for, “security reasons, for protection, or because he or she committed an offense against the detaining power.”

Once the detainees have been processed into the internment camp, the manual explains how they will be “indoctrinated,” with a particular focus on targeting political dissidents, into expressing support for U.S. policies.

The re-education process is the responsibility of the “Psychological Operations Officer,” whose job it is to design “PSYOP products that are designed to pacify and acclimate detainees or DCs to accept U.S. I/R facility authority and regulations,” according to the document.

The manual lists the following roles that are designated to the “PSYOP team”.

- Identifies malcontents, trained agitators, and political leaders within the facility who may try to organize resistance or create disturbances.

- Develops and executes indoctrination programs to reduce or remove antagonistic attitudes.

- Identifies political activists.

- Provides loudspeaker support (such as administrative announcements and facility instructions when necessary).

- Helps the military police commander control detainee and DC populations during emergencies.

- Plans and executes a PSYOP program that produces an understanding and appreciation of U.S. policies and actions.

Remember, this is not restricted to insurgents in Iraq who are detained in prison camps – the manual makes it clear that the policies also apply “within U.S. territory” under the auspices of the DHS and FEMA.

The historical significance of states using internment camps to re-educate detainees is the fact that it is almost exclusively practiced by repressive and dictatorial regimes like the former Soviet Union and Stalinist regimes like modern day North Korea.

We have exhaustively documented preparations for the mass internment of citizens inside America, but this is the first time that language concerning the re-education of detainees, in particular political activists, has cropped up in our research.

In 2009, the National Guard posted a number of job opportunities looking for “Internment/Resettlement Specialists” to work in “civilian internee camps” within the United States.

In December last year it was also revealed that Halliburton subsidiary KBR is seeking sub-contractors to staff and outfit “emergency environment” camps located in five regions of the United States.

In 2006, KBR was contracted by Homeland Security to build detention centers designed to deal with “an emergency influx of immigrants into the U.S,” or the rapid development of unspecified “new programs” that would require large numbers of people to be interned.

Rex 84, short for Readiness Exercise 1984, was established under the pretext of a “mass exodus” of illegal aliens crossing the Mexican/US border, the same pretense used in the language of the KBR request for services.

During the Iran-Contra hearings in 1987, however, it was revealed that the program was a secretive “scenario and drill” developed by the federal government to suspend the Constitution, declare martial law, assign military commanders to take over state and local governments, and detain large numbers of American citizens determined by the government to be “national security threats.”

Under the indefinite detention provision of the National Defense Authorization Act, which was signed by Barack Obama on New Year’s Eve, American citizens can be kidnapped and detained indefinitely without trial.

Unprecedented drills cause consternation amongst conservatives

The Department of Defense has confirmed foreign media reports that Russian troops are set to target terrorists on Americans soil as part of an unprecedented joint drill with the United States which will take place in Colorado next month.

As we reported yesterday, Airborne troops from Russia are set to take part in drills focused around targeting terrorists at Fort Carson between May 24 and May 31. The soldiers will also be mingling with the local community, attending a baseball game in Colorado Springs during their stay.

Although it marks the first time Russian troops will train on U.S. soil, soldiers from a plethora of different nations have been involved in similar drills for well over a decade.

“The Russian soldiers are here as invited guests of the U.S. government; this is part of a formal bilateral exchange program between the U.S. and Russia that seeks to develop transparency and promote defense reform,” Cmdr. Wendy L. Snyder, U.S. Defense Press Officer for policy, told The New American in an e-mail. “This is the first time that American and Russian special operations troops have participated in a bilateral exercise.”

“According to Snyder, the exercises — which she said would last about three weeks in all — will serve to train and improve skills related to terror-war fighting. About 20 Russian soldiers will be participating, with most of the training to take place on the Fort Carson, Colorado, Army base and a mountain training area several hours away.”

The presence of foreign troops on U.S. soil has long caused consternation with many on the American right for a number of reasons, both historical and contemporary, stretching right back to when the British called upon German Hessian soldiers during the Revolutionary War.

More modern fears revolve around global UN peacekeeping troops being used to quell unrest inside America, an issue touched upon by Henry Kissinger during the 1991 Bilderberg meeting when he stated, “Today Americans would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order; tomorrow they will be grateful.”

Drills such as FEMA’s 2009 NLE exercise, during which foreign troops worked alongside U.S. authorities, have led to concerns that the federal government would be forced to rely on foreign mercenaries to restore order, confiscate weapons or even incarcerate citizens during a national emergency, because of the likelihood that Americans would refuse to carry out such orders against other Americans.

One of the primary reasons why this story hasn’t gone viral is because doubt was cast on the issue when a known disinformation outlet (European Union Times) decided to embellish the details by adding completely manufactured nonsense about Russian troops “seizing the CIA’s main computer facility in Denver, the NSA’s main computer facility in Bluffdale, Utah, and taking control of main runways and terminals of the Denver International Airport.”

Despite the fact that these claims come from a source who is notorious for making a living out of fooling people into believing bogus stories, Glenn Beck’s The Blaze website carried them without retraction.

This in turn poisoned the well and led some to believe that the drills themselves, which are completely confirmed and admitted, were a hoax.

The Department of Defense’s acknowledgment that the exercises as described in the initial media reports are indeed taking place will hopefully put an end to this confusion and allow focus to return to the question of why Russian troops are training to kill “terrorists” on U.S. soil.

Joint U.S.-Russian anti-terror exercise stokes fears of martial law

Russian airborne troops are set to train how to target terrorists in America as part of a joint anti-terror drill with the United States which will take place in Fort Carson, Colorado at the end of next month.

“Airborne troops from Russia and the United States would hold joint anti-terror drills in the U.S. state of Colorado between May 24 and 31,” reports the Xinhua news agency, citing Russian Defense Ministry Col. Alexander Kucherenko. The story was also reported by Russian news outlet RIA Novosti.

The exercises, which will mark the first time the respective country’s two airborne forces have held joint drills on U.S. territory, will revolve around the the “reconnaissance of imaginary terrorists’ camp and a raid,” and will also involve evacuations of the troops by helicopter.

The Russian soldiers will also be given access to U.S. special service weapons at Fort Carson.

However, the Russian troops won’t just be confined to a U.S. military base – on May 27 they’ll be out in the local community attending a baseball game in Colorado Springs.

“This announcement comes at a time when Russia actually has troops working in cooperation with China,” points out Business Insider’s Eloise Lee, making reference to one of the largest ever Russian-Sino naval drills currently underway in the Yellow Sea.

Alex Jones has documented foreign troops being trained on U.S. soil to deal with “insurgents” since the late 1990′s as part of “urban warfare drills”.

Back in July 2010, our reporters covered the Operation Vigilant Guard exercises in Chicago which involved Polish troops training alongside U.S. National Guard troops in drills focused around raiding terrorists and drug dealers.

According to SFC Mark Ballard of the Illinois National Guard, the Polish forces were “integrating into some of the civil military units that are participating in this exercise” as part of Illinois’ partnership with the Republic of Poland, a relationship based around “integrative training” and blending military and civilian forces in the event of a national emergency, as well as making this process of integration with foreign troops more “visible”.

The exercises also involved volunteers from Boy Scouts of America, which was telling in light of a 2009 New York Times report which detailed how Homeland Security is training boy scouts to take on and disarm “disgruntled veterans” who are described as “terrorists”.

Fears that foreign troops would be used to carry out gun confiscations and incarcerate American citizens during a time of martial law have circulated for decades, concerns stoked by remarks such as the following quote from Henry Kissinger reportedly made at the 1991 Bilderberg conference in Evian, France.

“Today Americans would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order; tomorrow they will be grateful,” Kissinger stated.

The idea of foreign soldiers taking over America has often cropped up in television series and movies, most notably in the 1984 film Red Dawn, which depicted the United States being invaded by Soviet troops.

It is important to add that a story circulating which attempts to piggy-back off these confirmed drills in claiming that the U.S. has given Russian troops permission to “take and hold Denver airport” comes from a notorious disinformation source which routinely puts out bogus articles and as such should be completely disregarded as a hoax. Unfortunately, Glenn Beck’s The Blaze and others have bought the scam, which takes away from the importance of the drills which are fully confirmed.

Mohammed Merah, the suspect in the killing of seven people outside a Jewish school in Toulouse, France, fits the pattern of an al-Qaeda intelligence asset. According to the BBC, he was on the radar of French authorities because of visits he made to Afghanistan and the “militant stronghold” of Waziristan in Pakistan.

More specifically, Merah was handled by France’s DCRI intelligence service “for years,” according to Claude Guéant, the interior minister.

Merah, a French citizen of Algerian origin, was arrested on December 19, 2007, and was sentenced to three years in jail for planting bombs in the southern province of Kandahar in Afghanistan.

In April of 2011, the United States admitted it has operated secret military prisons in Afghanistan where suspected terrorists are held and interrogated without charges.

The notorious Bagram airbase detention center is operated by the Joint Special Operations Command and the DIA’s Defense Counterintelligence and Human Intelligence Center (DCHC).

The DCHC “will be responsible for developing an ‘offensive counterintelligence operations’… capability for the Department of Defense, which may entail efforts to penetrate, deceive and disable foreign intelligence activities directed against U.S. forces,” Secrecy News reported in 2008 after the government announced the creation of DCHC.

The Pentagon and the CIA specialize in creating terrorists as part of a so-called covert and unconventional war doctrine dating back to the end of the Second World War (see Michael McClintock’s Instruments of Statecraft: U.S. Guerilla Warfare, Counterinsurgency, and Counterterrorism, 1940-1990 for an in-depth examination).

Although virtually ignored by the corporate media, it is an established fact that the CIA and Pakistani intelligence created what is now known as al-Qaeda out of the remnants of the Afghan mujahideen following the CIA’s covert three billion dollar war against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan.

It was the so-called Safari Club – organized under the CIA and with the participation of intelligence agencies in France, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Morocco and (under the Shah) Iran – that ramped up the largely contrived threat of international terrorism prior to and during the CIA’s manufactured war in Afghanistan (see Peter Dale Scott, Launching the U.S. Terror War: the CIA, 9/11, Afghanistan, and Central Asia).

Intelligence agencies have specialized in the covert – and not so covert – creation of terrorists which are then used to provide a cynical raison d’être for launching military intervention around the world and also providing a pretext to build and expand a domestic surveillance police state.

A textbook example of this process is the Christmas Day, 2009, underwear bomber fiasco – subsequently exposed as a false flag event – that was exploited to push for installing dangerous radiation-emitting naked body porno scanners at U.S. airports.

The fact Mohammed Merah was in the custody of the Joint Special Operations Command in Afghanistan – and his supposed jail break at the Sarposa Prison was reportedly orchestrated by the Taliban (also cretaed by the CIA and Pakistan’s ISI) – certainly raises questions about the attack in France, where a national election will soon be held.

The Telegraph reports that the attacks of the supposedly al-Qaeda connected Merah will play into the election bid of National Front candidate Marine Le Pen, who is unlikely to ever become the president of France.

It has, however, provided Nicholas Sarkozy with a pretext to put the southern part of the nation on high alert and cancel the campaigns of presidential contenders. Sarkozy stands to benefit from the terror attacks and play the role of a strong leader during a national crisis.

“In the short term it is likely that President Nicolas Sarkozy will benefit. Very quickly he took charge. He rushed to the scene. He suspended his campaign. He spoke as the president of the republic,” writes Gavin Hewitt for the BBC.

A twin terrorist bombing in the Syrian capital of Damascus, allegedly targeting government buildings, ripped through a Christian neighborhood killing an estimated 27, mostly civilians. A third bomb exploded, killing only the driver of the car it was placed in, in what was apparently an attempted triple suicide bombing. CBS News reports (1) that after other similar attacks, U.S. officials suggest Al Qaeda terrorists “may be” amongst the Syrian rebels. However, while the West attempts to portray this as an unexpected development, we shall see that it not only was likely, but in fact the premeditated modus operandi of Western-backed destabilization efforts directed at upturning not only Syria, but the entire Arab World.

Pentagon’s Premeditated Arab World Blitzkrieg.

From the beginning the United States has been directly behind the unrest in Syria. In fact, America’s involvement in destabilizing Syria began years before the admittedly US-engineered Arab Spring (2) even unfolded in a premeditated plot to upturn the entire Arab World and reorder it according to their own corporate-financier and hegemonic geopolitical interests.

In a 2007 speech given to the Commonwealth Club of California (3), US Army General Wesley Clark would state that in 1991, then Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Paul Wolfowitz said the US had 5-10 years to clean up the old Soviet “client regimes” before the next super power rose up and challenged western hegemony. Clark claimed that this, along with the aftermath of 9/11 constituted a policy coup where Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, and the other members of the of Project for a New American Century had hijacked US foreign policy to destabilize and turn the nations of the Middle East upside down – much the way they are now.

Wesley Clark is a retired four-star general of the United States Army. Clark was valedictorian of his class at West Point, was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to the University of Oxford where he earned a master's degree in economics, and later graduated from the Command and General Staff College with a master's degree in military science. He spent 34 years in the Army and the Department of Defense, receiving many military decorations, several honorary knighthoods, and a Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Clark would go on to say that shortly after September 11, 2001, while at the Pentagon, a document handed down from the Office of the Secretary of Defense indicated plans to attack and destroy the governments of 7 countries; Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Iran, Lebanon and Libya.

Clearly the United States has already “attacked and destroyed” Iraq, which in 2003 was invaded and subsequently occupied for nearly a decade at the cost of nearly a million lives including over 4,400 US soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines, and trillions of dollars of taxpayer money. Likewise Libya was destabilized and invaded by proxy through a combination of US-led NATO forces and US State Department listed terrorist organizations including the(Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (listed #27) lead by Abdul Hakim Belhaj.

Somalia has been the victim of repeated US-backed invasions by Ethiopia (4), Uganda, Kenya(5), and systematic air (6) and drone campaigns (7) carried out by the recently established US Africa Command (AFRICOM), while neighboring Sudan has been carved into two separate states, isolating the oil-rich south (8) with further intervention pending as public support is built by stunts including the fraudulent Kony 2012 video and George Clooney’s pro-imperial intervention advocacy.

US designs toward Iran serve as a model for Syria.

Iran has likewise been under systematic premeditated attack for years, including brutal sanctions, and the training, arming, and funding of US State Department-listed foreign terror organization (listed #29), Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK) to carry out terrorist attacks within Iran, as well as the constant threat of unilateral attack by either Israel or the US, or both – all of which was described in minute detail in 2009 amongst the pages of US policy think-tankBrookings Institution’s “Which Path to Persia?” report (9).

In their report, they openly conspire to use what is an admitted terrorist organization as a “US proxy” (emphasis added):

“Perhaps the most prominent (and certainly the most controversial) opposition group that has attracted attention as a potential U.S. proxy is the NCRI (National Council of Resistance of Iran), the political movement established by the MEK (Mujahedin-e Khalq). Critics believe the group to be undemocratic and unpopular, and indeed anti-American.

In contrast, the group’s champions contend that the movement’s long-standing opposition to the Iranian regime and record of successful attacks on and intelligence-gathering operations against the regime make it worthy of U.S. support. They also argue that the group is no longer anti-American and question the merit of earlier accusations. Raymond Tanter, one of the group’s supporters in the United States, contends that the MEK and the NCRI are allies for regime change in Tehran and also act as a useful proxy for gathering intelligence. The MEK’s greatest intelligence coup was the provision of intelligence in 2002 that led to the discovery of a secret site in Iran for enriching uranium.

Despite its defenders’ claims, the MEK remains on the U.S. government list of foreign terrorist organizations. In the 1970s, the group killed three U.S. officers and three civilian contractors in Iran. During the 1979-1980 hostage crisis, the group praised the decision to take America hostages and Elaine Sciolino reported that while group leaders publicly condemned the 9/11 attacks, within the group celebrations were widespread.
Undeniably, the group has conducted terrorist attacks—often excused by the MEK’s advocates because they are directed against the Iranian government. For example, in 1981, the group bombed the headquarters of the Islamic Republic Party, which was then the clerical leadership’s main political organization, killing an estimated 70 senior officials. More recently, the group has claimed credit for over a dozen mortar attacks, assassinations, and other assaults on Iranian civilian and military targets between 1998 and 2001. At the very least, to work more closely with the group (at least in an overt manner), Washington would need to remove it from the list of foreign terrorist organizations.”

It was also revealed in Seymour Hersh’s 2008 New Yorker article “Preparing the Battlefield,” that not only had MEK been considered for their role as a possible proxy, but that the US had already begun arming and financing them to wage war inside Iran:

“The M.E.K. has been on the State Department’s terrorist list for more than a decade, yet in recent years the group has received arms and intelligence, directly or indirectly, from the United States. Some of the newly authorized covert funds, the Pentagon consultant told me, may well end up in M.E.K. coffers. “The new task force will work with the M.E.K. The Administration is desperate for results.” He added, “The M.E.K. has no C.P.A. auditing the books, and its leaders are thought to have been lining their pockets for years. If people only knew what the M.E.K. is getting, and how much is going to its bank accounts—and yet it is almost useless for the purposes the Administration intends.”

Seymore Hersh in an NPR interview, also claims that select MEK members have already received training in the US.

More recently, the British Daily Mail published a stunning admission in their report titled, “Mossad training terrorists to kill Iran’s nuclear scientists, U.S. officials claim… but is Israel’s real target Obama?
