Holder Lied: Obama Admin Approved ATF Mexico Weapons Smuggling

Mexican Outlaws Get Guns Via ATF - Tuesday, July 12, 2011

The ultimate end of the plan is to make possession of guns the ultimate evil.

Legal guns originating in the United States are the illegal guns that are being used to slaughter citizens in Mexico. And in a nation where gun ownership is illegal, it could not be more apparent that when guns are outlawed, the only ones with guns are the outlaws.

But just how the outlaws get the guns is shocking. Members of both the U.S. Congress and the Mexican government are calling for prosecution of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF).

Congressional testimony has recently turned the ATF on its head after whistleblowers gave testimony revealing that the ATF played a part in the release of guns into Mexico.

For at least a decade now, covert operation specialist Celerino “Cele” Castillo III has been telling the world that the U.S. has been shipping guns south of the border on a regular basis as a sidebar to revelations of drug running from South America into North America. And now in the summer of 2011, the BATF is under fire for observing the sale and distribution of machine guns into Mexico. Congressional testimony in recent months is revealing a calculated plan called Operation Fast and Furious.

Amazingly, thousands of guns have been observed to be purchased illegally and then tracked to an exit point outside of the USA. Testimony also reveals that the U.S. Border Patrol has been implicated in the plot.

The ultimate end of the plan is to make possession of guns the ultimate evil. It’s a devious plan that includes what amounts to deliberate distribution of armament to a nation that has been taught to hate the USA. As a loyal American citizen, Castillo is one of those whistleblowers who have been unable to avoid persecution from the powers that be.

Irony reigns strong for truth seekers, and so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Castillo is sitting in a federal prison for allegedly selling two illegal rifles at a gun show. Castillo was once a high ranking officer and sharpshooter sniper in the U.S. military, but once he began to put the picture together, the puzzle began to turn on him.

The distinguished military veteran is actually better known for his refutation of Oliver North and the Iran-Contra Scandal. Although attempts were made, Castillo could not be reached from his supposed location in Anthony, New Mexico. La Tuna Federal Correction Facility straddles Texas and New Mexico. An official at the La Tuna facility could not confirm or deny that Castillo has ever been present at the La Tuna prison.

The family of murdered Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry wants justice, and that may include suing the federal government.

“If the evidence shows Brian’s death was proximately caused by the negligence of the federal government, there may be a cause of action,” said Terry family attorney Paul Charlton.

Terry was killed in December 2010 at the hands of an illegal immigrant working for the Sinaloa Cartel while patrolling an area near Tucson known as Rio Rico.

Holder Lied: Obama Admin Approved ATF Mexico Weapons Smuggling - Sunday, July 10, 2011
Salem-News.com | Eric Holder gave false info. to a Congressional Committee last May about ATF operations tied to the deaths of two U.S. Agents; we have the proof.

Eric Holder gave false info. to a Congressional Committee last May about ATF operations tied to the deaths of two U.S. Agents; we have the proof.

(SALEM, Ore.) – New information indicates that U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder’s actions are squarely behind the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms) operation known as “Fast and Furious”, which orchestrated the delivery of almost 2,000 weapons to Mexican drug cartels[1].

Holder Lied
Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and Special
Agent Jaime Zapata from ICE both died from
weapons that were sent to Mexico from the
United States. There is no knowledge as to
how many lives the U.S. weapons smuggling
programs claimed in Mexico.

Holder openly proclaimed his connection to the operation in April 2009 during a publicized speech in Mexico, then told a Congressional Committee in May 2011, “I probably heard of Fast and Furious the first time in the last few weeks.”[2]

The ATF weapons smuggling ring involved the arrest of several government officials with the city of Columbus, New Mexico including the mayor and police chief, but that is all[3].

They were apparently known from the beginning and the weapons deals with ‘straw buyers’ were videotaped. Smuggled U.S. weapons from this operation, described as mostly semi automatic versions of military weapons like the AK-47, were found to be used in the shooting deaths of two U.S. federal agents.

The new information, which is not really new at all, proves that Holder had to be aware of the U.S. government weapons smuggling operation planned and implemented by federal agents from ATF which he denied to Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) less than two months ago, as detailed below.

Background on Fast and Furious ‘Gunrunner’ Operation

As we have reported with the help of our Photojournalist Robert Plumlee, who is a former CIA asset, we know that around 1,800 weapons were funneled through the Chaparral Gun Store in Chaparral, New Mexico, and into the hands of the murderous cartels. As referenced, the gun shop was directly tied to the mayor, police chief and city council of Columbus, New Mexico, a town famous for the Pancho Villa border raids a century before[4].

Weapons from the ATF Gunrunner or Gunwalker scheme as it came to be known, were recovered from the desert where U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry died in a shootout with cartel members. A U.S. gun that allegedly was smuggled into Mexico from Dallas, Texas, was used to murder an Immigration Customs Enforcement Agent named Jaime Zapata[5].

Considering how big of a problems guns and violence already are in Mexico, it should be a mystery how this U.S. / Mexico weapons smuggling program was ever launched, and according to Holder’s earlier testimony, included in our report, Feds Call Meeting with Journalist Who Reported Human Remains and Cartel Weapon Build up with U.S. Ties, it is a mystery[6].

Fast and Furious

Lawmakers from both houses, investigating Operation Fast and Furious, fired off a terse and angry letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, accusing him of issuing “false denials” and “distorting the truth.”

On Independence Day, acting ATF head, Kenneth Melson, testified before Congress with his own attorney present. Rep. Darrell Issa, chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, said Melson chose July 4 to show the public he was appearing voluntarily and on his own time.

Melson was scheduled to appear before Congress July 13, with DOJ and ATF lawyers present. According to Issa, Melson was never told by the justice department that he was able to attend a voluntary interview with his own lawyer present.

During the interview, Melson said when he first learned of the operation, he was, “sick to my stomach.” He went on to say that he moved to reassign every manager involved in Fast and Furious; however, he was not allowed to tell Congress of the reason for the reassignments.

Following Melson’s testimony, Issa and Sen. Charles Grassley, ranking member of the Committee on the Judiciary, fired off a five page letter to Holder.

Grassley and Issa said in the letter, “If his account is accurate, then ATF leadership appears to have been effectively muzzled while the DOJ sent over false denials and buried its head in the sand. That approach distorted the truth and obstructed our investigation.” It went on to say, “The Department’s inability or unwillingness to be more forthcoming served to conceal critical information that we are now learning about the involvement of other agencies, including the DEA and the FBI.”

Holder’s office responded with a letter, saying, “We reject entirely any suggestion that our extraordinary efforts have been designed to limit rather than facilitate the committee’s access to information.”
